Meet The Devs Episode 9: Early Access Week 1 Post-Mortem

Hello Adventurers,

We have just uploaded Meet the Devs: Episode 9!

We’re back with another Meet the Devs session, and this time, we’re taking a deep dive into the first week of Early Access. Chris breaks down what went well, the biggest challenges we faced, and what’s coming next.

In this episode, we go over the key issues we’re actively working on, upcoming improvements, and plans for the near future. There’s also a Q&A segment where we address some of the community’s most pressing questions.

Early Access Hotfix #4

In this hotfix, we continue to fix bugs and address critical issues.

We have further fixes in the works that we hope to deploy next week, including increasing Stash Size for everyone as well as addressing other class and combat bugs having to do with Phantom Dagger, world geo/collision and more.

Further out, we have a larger client-side patch in production that will include some class balance changes, character rename/deletion functionality, VOIP improvements, and further level design fixes.

Classes

[h2]Warrior[/h2]
  • Fixed an issue where Warriors could obtain double damage by swapping weapons across weapon slots

[h2]Hunter[/h2]
  • Fixed the Eldenar Snow Elf appearance (from the God Tier Supporter Edition) from staying partially applied when switching characters
  • Fixed an infinite audio loop on Tornado Volley

[h2]Rogue[/h2]
  • Updated the stealth shader so that it maintains stealth better across distances
Creatures and Encounters
  • Morg'Thog ("The Ogre King" Boss) has had his loot adjusted to be similar to that of the Elite Ogres.
    • Developer Note: This is a temporary change to address issues where players can kill Morg'thog without being hit using unintended bugs with the level design. To properly fix this issue, we will need to deploy a larger build that has level design changes. We're targeting this fix for later next month where his past loot will be restored.
Items
  • Fixed an issue where the inventory would use a gem's stacking behavior when socketed into an item, causing items with socketed gems to be lost when quick swapping
  • Destructible objects will now drop their loot in properly accessible areas
    • Developer Note: Sometimes when you would destroy crates and barrels, the loot that would come out would get stuck under the world. This change addresses that.
UI/UX
  • Fixed Teammate compass distance being incorrect when teammates are far away
  • Fixed Teammate party frames dissapearing when teammates are far away

Early Access Hotfix #3

Hey everyone,

We have just deployed a client hotfix addressing some issues that were reported by our community. This update includes:
  • Queue panel (Solo/Mixed) now correctly saves your selection including the autofill checkbox.
  • You can now rebind keys to P, I, F1, L, and V.
  • Various crash fixes for improved stability.

We are continuously monitoring the issues reported by our community and will be deploying hotfixes as soon as we have fixes ready. This update will require you to update your client on Steam.

Meet The Devs Episode 8: Legacy - Past, Present, and Future

Hello Adventurers,

We have just uploaded Meet the Devs: Episode 8 – a special edition that took place just hours before our Early Access launch!

Join Chris along with Colin (Principal Level Designer) and Cole (Principal Artist) as they take a deep dive into our 3-year journey with Notorious, the challenges and triumphs of developing Legacy: Steel & Sorcery, and what the future holds. Of course, being on the brink of launch, we had to give Chris a little magic in his eyes for this one!

Early Access Hotfix #2

  • Fixed a number of crashes
  • Added new server regions: OCE (hosted in Sydney, Australia) and SA (hosted in Sao Paulo, Brazil)
  • Fixed some graphical oddities related to Stealth
  • Fixed your teammate frames showing no icon or character name when they are far from you
  • Fixed a number of floating loot spawns, broken chests, and mob spawns that were behaving incorrectly
  • Fixed wound not showing on teammate health bars
  • Fixed some more issues with audio cues sticking around for longer than they should be and not cleaning up correctly
