Update 0.2.2.0 - Fire in the Hole!

Introducing - The Pipe Bomb, and a few fixes and optimizations along with it! 💥

Strayed Update 0.2.2.0 introduces the fuse-timed janky explosive Pipe Bomb - the perfect throwable for a fiery confrontation. This comes with a few fixes and optimizations for our Strayers here and there.

[h2]The Pipe Bomb - Fuse-timed Kaboom![/h2]


Strayed macgyvers have found a way to basically craft a janky explosive throwable. The Pipe Bomb delivers explosive damage to anyone within its blast area.

To use the Pipe Bomb, hold "grip" while it's in your hand and press the "use" button to turn the lighter on and light the fuse. Once the fuse is lit, you can throw the Pipe Bomb by releasing the grip button upon throwing. After a few seconds, it'll explode!



NOTE: Just because it's a "throwable" doesn't mean it only works when it's "thrown." There are more than a couple of creative ways to use it!

[h2]The Strayed Experience - The Milestones continue![/h2]


We recently reached our first milestone: 600 Reviews from Steam and Meta Quest! The last update (Update 0.2.1.0) brought the Golden Rock into everyone's hands!

We're currently sitting at 640 Reviews at the time of writing. We need 60 more reviews to reach the 2nd milestone for another free skin for all!

Update 0.2.1.0 - Haptics & Stuff!


[h2]Setting things up for more immersive experiences![/h2]

Haptics, New Map Options, Optimizations and Bug Fixes! 🖐️

With Strayed Update 0.2.1.0, immersion has been taken to the next level with added controller haptics. We're also furthering map customization with new map toggle options, and bringing ease to each Strayer's life with a bunch of optimizations and bug fixes!

[h2]Haptic Feedback - Feel Strayed![/h2]



Update 0.2.1.0 brings an added immersion by introducing controller haptics! Actions like firing guns, melee hits, wrist notifications, and selecting an object in the radial hotbar now trigger controller haptics, leading to a more immersive experience playing Strayed.

Not a big fan of haptics? You can turn this off/on in the settings.

[h2]New Map Toggles![/h2]



We've added new map toggles to further customization. Three options are now available for you to choose in the settings:

All - shows / hides all icons
Local player - shows / hides local player icon
Roads - shows / hides roads

[h2]The Strayed Experience - 1st Milestone Reached![/h2]



We just reached the 1st Milestone in our Review Milestone Event! You know what this means... Free skin for everyone!!

Thanks to the community effort, your basic, gray rock is now GOLDEN. 🪙

The servers will need to restart for the update. Once restarted, update your game and you'll get the Golden Rock skin! You can apply it by clicking your rock, going to the skins tab at the top of your inventory, then selecting the skin.



We have more milestones set for this event. Let's work on getting those free skins!

[h2]Important Update to Our Content Release Schedule![/h2]



Strayers, we want to first thank you all for your incredible support and enthusiasm! Your feedback and engagement throughout the year have been instrumental in making Strayed the game it is today. We’ve loved bringing you new content every two weeks, but to keep delivering high-quality updates and meaningful additions, we’ve decided to modify to our release schedule.

[h3]New Content Release Schedule[/h3]

Starting later this month, we’ll be shifting to a monthly content update schedule. This means that instead of biweekly releases you can expect bigger, more polished updates each month. With this change, our team will have more time to develop new content, test thoroughly, and implement the features and experiences you’ve been asking for!

The first monthly update will release on December 13. It will feature a brand new vehicle that will be revealed in the coming weeks! We will still be delivering some new content in the next two weeks as we transition over to our monthly update schedule - Pipe bombs and a new skins pack will release on November 15. A new revolver weapon will release on November 22.

What This Means for You:

More Refined Content: We’ll be able to focus on higher-quality additions, like new features, bigger events, and game improvements.

Consistent Monthly Updates: You’ll know exactly when new content drops each month, making it easier to plan your gameplay.

Minor Updates in Off Weeks: Once on the monthly update schedule, we intend to continue with minor updates when applicable. These will consist of small bug fixes, small additions, and new skins.

Staging Branch Testing: The staging branch will be open to all players 2 weeks prior to each monthly update, and close (temporarily) upon the release of the update. We welcome players to test out new changes on the staging server and leave bug reports / feedback so we can make adjustments before the update releases to the public servers.

More Community Engagement: We’ll be listening even more closely to your feedback between updates, so your voices will play a bigger role in shaping future content.

Update 0.2.0.0 - Monumental Update


[h2]Attention! Monumental changes have come to Strayed![/h2]

Brand-new and improved monuments come into the islands! 🤔

With Strayed Update 0.2.0.0, mysterious engineers have decided to build a way for more people to visit the islands - The Airstrip! Plus, they decided to renovate the Radio Tower and the Gas Station to appeal more to both resident and upcoming Strayers!

Let's take a tour of the new infrastructure, shall we?

[h2]The Airstrip - It's quite nice here.[/h2]


While there's no pilot present on the islands, the men at work thought that it would be a good idea to have an Airstrip just in case.

But still, where there's a large field meant for planes and cargo containers comes new opportunities for islanders to loot important stuff.

Don't know where to look for the Airstrip? Just look for the two large hangars and an airstrip in front of it. One pro tip for you: Make sure you're as armed and dangerous as most will come.

[h2]Renovations - Radio Tower & Gas Station[/h2]


After building the Airstrip, the engineers felt they still had a little sweat to release. With the remaining construction materials, they decided to renovate some familiar places.

Meet the all-new Gas Station and Radio Tower! Modernizing the areas, making them feel more at home on the island, and leaving them in a semi-derelict state must be a huge feat, though!


With these new and improved areas, we expect more players to explore the monuments in search of loot and adventure. Be on the lookout for more new monuments in the next few months!

Update 0.1.14.0 - The Art of the Trade + Steam Keys Giveaway!

Taking the Strayed barter system to the next level! 🤔

With Strayed Update 0.1.14.0, we're introducing the Trading Window deployable with the goal of making the trading system more reliable and safer for both parties involved. Oh, and we're running a Strayed Keys giveaway on the SteamVR subreddit!

Now it's time to trade deeper intel about this update!

[h2]Trading Window - Strayer Barter 2.0![/h2]


The 0.1.14.0 update focuses on a renewed trading experience for all Strayers. While we're not removing the ol' drop-and-loot process for trading, introducing the Trading Window deployable should develop a systematic trading process.

Once you get your hands on a Trading Window deployable, it's as easy as attaching it to a Wall Frame. We'd recommend having the "Trade" signage facing out - but to each his own.

Once deployed, the Trading Window acts as a medium for systematic trades. The user interface below shows how simple it is to execute a trade with someone. Both players add their trade items to their offering slots and click the ready button below in order to mark their offers as ready. The trade will complete once both offers are ready!



The trading window acts as the first piece of Strayed's economy content. Player shops and skins are coming soon! Thank you for playing Strayed!

To give you a breakdown of all the changes for 0.1.14.0, here's the full changelog:

  • Player head height being offset upwards
Known Issues:
  • Other player’s entering a boat seat can sometimes cause a crash. We’ve added code to hopefully catch these cases to prevent crashing
  • We have seen reports of rockets disappearing from player inventories when shooting. We have included a partial fix that should help with this issue, but we have not yet found a way to totally prevent this.

Update 0.1.13.0 - Workbench & Crafting - Reloaded!

The ever-demanding world of Strayed just got a bit more interesting! 🤔

With Strayed Update 0.1.13.0, we're redefining the crafting system by upgrading the ol' trusty workbench with the new Workbench Module System, among important changes to crafting itself!

Let's take the scenic route into what's new for Strayed!

[h2]Workbench Module System - Worthwhile Crafting![/h2]


In this update, we're adding the Workbench Module System, a series of upgrades you can add to your workbench to allow for crafting different levels of items in-game.

To start things off, three workbench modules are ranked in order of tiers - the Toolbox (costs 100 shreds), the Welding Tool (costs 750 shreds), and the Laser Cutter (costs 1500 shreds). Each module upgrades the workbench to allow for higher-tier items to be crafted.

The workbench UI will now feature 3 new module slots, where you'll put the crafted modules in to "upgrade" your workbench.

With the addition of the Workbench Module System comes the changes to crafting on the workbench.

All blueprints now require a certain module to craft them. The toolbox is the lowest-tier module, so it's required for things like crossbows, basic sights, etc. The welding tool is for mid-tier guns. The laser cutter is for explosives and high-tier armor.

This system is meant to slow progression and add more steps to craft high-tier items.
