Demonheart: The Cursed Trial News

Hello, demonhearts and VN enjoyers!

Since the update which added Chapter 6 to Demonheart: The Cursed Trial, I have been working on the text for the remaining, final chapter.

So far, I've finished the first version of "Kaisar's route," which still needs some player choices. I also need to set up all the backgrounds and character sprites to appear when needed. Then I will be able to test and polish this content.



For now, I've taken some screenshots with the boys to share with you. This content may still change. ːhappy_yetiː

This update adds some more lines and changes some existing ones, in chapters 2 through 5.

The main focus of these changes has been the relationship between Kaisar and Bane, which we may revisit in the upcoming final chapter. ːhappy_yetiː

The changes include:
Added more interactions between Kaisar and Bane in Chapter 3 during the trial.
In Chapter 5, Kaisar will mention Bane while he's raving, if the player stayed with Kaisar on the night between days 4 and 5.
In Chapter 5, changed the conversation between Ran and Kaisar, if Bane was the one who stayed with Kaisar for the night.
Other, minor line edits.

In this update, I've reduced the amount of Kaisar Approval needed for some options and consequences in Chapter 6.

Some of you have said that Kaisar didn't invite you to the tower even in your playthrough where you were nice to him. Now it will be easier for him to invite you. He is supposed to do it even if you betrayed him earlier, and this leads to some unique responses after the romance scene. But previously, it may have been difficult to reach that path since the betrayal itself lowers his approval.

There are many mini-branches and choices where you can gain points with him, and while I thought the approval conditions in this chapter were not too strict, I've had to reconsider them.

The requirements for unlocking a few dialog choices and his reactions have changed as well.

The story continues, with only one more chapter left to go (which will have multiple endings.)

The Cursed Trial is a murder mystery / romance in which Raze ("The Seer") has captured a group of humans for the entertainment of his demonic master. (Raze doesn't really have a master, he just made a deal with someone and is playing along.)

The main character, whose name you can change, can fall in love with two of her fellow captives.
