[/p][p]How crazy is this? Star Trucker has officially turned 1! It’s been one hell of a year for the game (and us Monsters) and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone for the input and support since launch. We wouldn’t be able to keep rollin’ out updates without you. Keeping an eye on internal priorities while rolling out new features, quality of life improvements and a host balance changes. We’ve also been hard at work on a bunch of new content we look forward to chatting about soon![/p][p][/p][p]Until then, let’s get you all up to speed on the latest update…[/p][p][/p][hr][/hr][p][/p][h2]PC Peripheral Support[/h2][p]It’s been a long time coming but our initial implementation of peripheral support is finally rolling out as part of the Anniversary update. This will allow you to play with multiple connected devices from joysticks and throttles to wheels and pedals.[/p][p][/p][p]It might take some tweaking to get the perfect settings for your setups but once you do you’ll find driving a star truck using peripherals is an incredibly unique and rewarding experience!
[/p][p]For more information on this we’ve created some handy guides to help with setup and explain some of the nuances….[/p][p]We’d also like to ask the community to lend a hand with our spreadsheet that tracks peripheral compatibility…[/p][p]With so many different devices and combinations of setups in the wild it’s impossible for us to try them all ourselves. So we hope you’ll help us out by submitting information regarding your devices alongside example custom binding files via our special Google submission form HERE. Once we’ve confirmed a new peripheral and binding config we’ll add it as a preset in a future update
[/p][p]Lastly, please keep in mind that this was quite the undertaking for our tiny team and it might not be perfect straight out the warp gate but we’re super proud of how things have turned out so far and we’re excited to finally get this feature into your hands.[/p][p] [/p][p]^ Dave’s chaotic multi-device test setup and high-risk coffee positioning[/p][p] [/p][hr][/hr][p][/p][h2]Speed Traps[/h2][p] [/p][p]“Due to the consistent disregard of highway restrictions, the DIV has had no choice but to install speed checks across key zones and sectors”[/p][p] [/p][p]Our speed checks are a little bit experimental but we feel they add a great bit of flavor to the world. They’re also pretty good at catching out drivers who become a little too complacent on the throttle - especially after a few speed upgrades at the garages.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]These speed checks have been placed as static traps in specific locations around the galaxy but in the future we might evolve them to be a bit more dynamic - gotta keep you truckers on your toes![/p][p][/p][p]To complement the inclusion of speed traps we’ve also added two new paint job challenges…[/p][p][/p][h3]Trip x100 speed traps to unlock “Smokey Style”[/h3][p][/p][h3]Trip a speed trap going over 200 kph to unlock “Hot Pursuit”[/h3][p][/p][p] [/p][hr][/hr][p][/p][h2]Anniversary Treats[/h2][p]We’ve also added a couple of treats in this build. Firstly the “Number One” hood ornament you’ll have seen in our anniversary thumbnails is free for all players.[/p][p] [/p][p][/p][p]Secondly the hologram projector has been enabled and updated with some virtual cake for the duration of September. The cake isn’t a lie. Honest![/p][p] [/p][p][/p][p][/p][hr][/hr][p][/p][h2]Corporation Branding[/h2][p]Alongside everything else going on we’ve been keen to update some of our generic corporations with unique logos, trailer liveries and refined color schemes.[/p][p][/p][p]For the Anniversary update we’ve overhauled x2 corporations and their associated trailers but there will be more to come in the future.[/p][p] [/p][p]COSMOTIC SOLUTIONS[/p][p][/p][p]MOON MAN DAIRIES[/p][p][/p][p]Oh and while we’re talking about trailers, there’s also been a small balance pass to the tanker and powered trailer damage maps so that dirt and grime should feel a bit more consistent alongside the other trailer types.[/p][p][/p][hr][/hr][p][/p][h2]Going, Going, Gone? [/h2][p]We’ve also had word from the Laced warehouse that we’re down to our last few records. They’ve also run inventory and found a couple of limited edition color vinyl's are still available.[/p][p][/p][p]The US and Worldwide stores have been updated with remaining stock so if you haven’t picked up a copy of the soundtrack on vinyl yet, this might be the last chance![/p][p][/p][p]US Store[/p][p]Rest of World Store[/p][p] [/p][p][/p][p] [/p][hr][/hr][p][/p][h2]Warp Speed Ahead[/h2][p]We’d like to finish up with a quick note on what’s next for Star Trucker. We’re still moving onwards with the proposed timeline HERE. However there’s a couple of things to update you all on….[/p]
  • [p]The Job Generator optimizations and updates are looking promising but not quite ready yet. We’ll roll these out in the next big update.[/p]
  • [p]A long time ago we mentioned a cargo pack DLC. This is being updated to be more than just new trailers and cargo and will roll out alongside the Business Venture update and feature a new NPC and unique rewards.[/p]
  • [p]Speaking of - the Business Venture update is now in full development and shaping up nicely. We’ll be sure to write a specific dev blog on this new feature in the coming months.[/p]
  • [p]Interior Customization is also in development and lookin’ pretty sweet! This is going to link up closely with the Business Venture meta and should provide lots of great new stuff to unlock.[/p]
  • [p]Peripheral presets will get an update down the line once we’ve gathered and tested some more setups. Remember - If you feel you can contribute in this area please use the special Google Form HERE.[/p]

Update 1.0.67.0 - Mid-Session Difficulty Settings

[p]Star Trucker has been updated to v1.0.67.0. This update introduces the ability to change galaxy (difficulty) settings mid-session, making it easier to tailor the gameplay to your preferences without starting a new save slot.[/p][p][/p][h2]Session Difficulty Settings[/h2]

Dev Blog #19 - The Road Ahead

A few of you have been asking what’s next for Star Trucker and as we let slip some plans in a recent Reddit AMA* we thought we should share a high-level overview of what’s in development…[/p][p][/p][h2]2025 Roadmap[/h2][p]We currently have three updates planned for the remainder of this year…[/p][p]
[/p][p]We’ll provide more detailed information on various new features as we get closer to rolling them out, but for now, check out these summaries for some initial context.[/p][p][/p][h3]Slot Difficulty Update[/h3]

It sounds like the vinyl soundtrack has been delivered to the warehouses early and distribution to customers is imminent![/p][p]
