The Delve Stash Tab

Ever since the launch of the Delve expansion a year ago and after its implementation as a Path of Exile core mechanic in 3.5.0, we have received a lot of requests from our community to make Fossils and Resonators stackable, as well as to add a special Stash Tab for storing them. With Fossils and Resonators being able to stack in Path of Exile: Blight, we're happy to introduce the Delve Stash Tab that allows you to store each type of Fossils and Resonators in stacks of up to 5000. You can also name your Delve Stash Tab and make it public for trading.

Future Expansions

Our team have been hard at work on a variety of Blight improvements that are coming soon. Tomorrow's news post is a roundup of what we're improving. Today we wanted to take a moment to talk about our plans for the future expansions.

In the week following the release of a new expansion, many members of the development team shift their focus to designing and creating the next one (while others continue to improve the recently-released league). We have now begun this process with 3.9.0, which will be released in early December. This particular cycle is an interesting one because of the presence of ExileCon (November 16-17), so we wanted to explain how it'll work timing-wise.

As you know, we release new expansions (which contain challenge leagues, balance changes and new game features) every 13 weeks. We do not expect to vary this timeline in the near future, so over the next year we're roughly looking at:
  • Early December 2019: 3.9.0 Expansion (announced at ExileCon in November)
  • Early March 2020: 3.10.0 Expansion (announced in February)
  • Early June 2020: 3.11.0 Expansion (announced in May)
  • Early September 2020: 3.12.0 Expansion (announced in August)
  • And so on, with new expansions every 13 weeks until 4.0.0 is ready
It's important to understand that due to its scope, 4.0.0 is likely at least a year away from full release. Despite it being quite far from completion, we will both announce it and have a playable demo at ExileCon this year.

In addition to the big 4.0.0 announcement, we'll also announce the 3.9.0 expansion and its challenge league at ExileCon, which is around three weeks before they launch. We expect to have this content playable on the demo machines at the event as well.

If you're not able to attend ExileCon, don't worry! We'll be streaming our keynote presentation full of announcements, trailers and gameplay of the new content from both expansions. There will be far more information on announcement day than we usually release for expansion announcements. We'll cover quite a lot of it in developer talks, which will be recorded and then released in the news over time.

It's going to be a very interesting development cycle for us, and we can't wait to show you what we've been working on. Both 3.9.0 and 4.0.0 are game-changing in their own ways.

Introducing the Salvage Box

With every league release, we traditionally introduce a new Mystery Box. These offer a range of new microtransactions designed around a specific theme. For example, the Carnival Mystery Box was released alongside Blight. Today we're introducing an entirely new type of box - the Salvage Box.
[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

Unlike a themed Mystery Box, the Salvage Box contains microtransactions from all past boxes. It can yield most microtransactions introduced with a themed Mystery Box that weren't specifically marked as exclusive to that box. The microtransactions from each new box will be added to the Salvage Box's reward pool at the point that those microtransactions are added to the store (one month after their box goes off sale). For example, the Frontier microtransactions will become available one month from now, and the Carnival microtransactions in four.

A Salvage Box costs 30 points and by default, contains any Common (non-exclusive) microtransaction introduced in a past box.

The Salvage Box also lets you destroy your duplicate microtransactions to increase the chances of getting better results. Only microtransactions you have more than one of can be Salvaged. The more valuable the microtransaction, the more of an increase to the reward chances it grants.

The four tiers of microtransaction that an upgraded Salvage Box can generate are Common, Uncommon, Rare and "Combined". The Combined ones are the special ones that came from blending two separate microtransactions together.

There's a limit to how much you can Salvage with a single box, capping out at a guaranteed rare or combined microtransaction as the result.

Path of Exile: Blight - What We're Working On

It's been three days since the launch of Path of Exile: Blight, and the team has gone through much of the feedback and many of the bugs reported so far. We've prepared an update about some of the issues that we are working on fixing as soon as possible.

These are the issues that will be addressed later today in a patch:
  • The Pulsating Grotto, Restless Rubble and Haunted Remains Delve encounters cannot be completed.
  • Dying in a map Labyrinth Trial resurrecting you in hideout instead of the map.
  • Incorrect default location when entering Hideout.
  • Summoned Raging Spirits not prioritising targets correctly.
  • Bodyswap not interacting correctly with Zombies when using Aukuna's Will.
For ongoing updates, keep an eye on the Known Issues List. If you find any errors, please report them in the bug report forum where they can be processed by our QA team. They're not able to reply to every thread but rest assured that they do see and process all reports that come in.

We're also aware that end-game Blight encounters (like those in Blighted Maps) are running into both performance and stability issues. We are working hard on resolving these, as well as other general crashes, as soon as possible.

We will continue to work on resolving the remaining issues. Thank you again for your continued feedback!
