Path of Exile: Expedition is out now

Things are getting explosive in Path of Exile, now that the RPG game's latest update is out in the wild. Path of Exile: Expedition launched today, which means it's time to meet up with the artifact-hunting Kalguur people. The update adds new characters, a new challenge league, lots of new skill gems, and the chance to blow stuff up.

To help the Kalguur find the lost artifacts of their settler ancestors, you'll rig up sites with strings of explosives, which you'll have to detonate strategically in order to find the precious antiquities from expedition sites. The bad news is that the artifacts are still being held by fallen Kalguur warriors, who will rise as undead soldiers once you've disturbed their resting places.

If you're careful about how you set up your demolition charges, these expeditions can yield treasure chests that have a chance of holding ancient runed artifacts, which you can then trade to Path of Exile's new merchant characters. All four of them have a particular spin on making deals, so you'll need to get to know them and keep an eye on your purse.

Path Of Exile: Expedition has just launched its explosive challenge league

Hack and slash RPG Path Of Exile has just launched another one of its expansions, bringing lots of game updates, tweaks, and a new challenge league. Path Of Exile: Expedition is an explosive one, challenging you to detonate expedition sites and kill all the creeps that come crawling out of them. POE's scheduled launch day maintenance has ended, so you're now free to jump into the queue to take a crack at what's new.

Path of Exile: Expedition Launches Soon

The secrets of the Kalguur will soon be unearthed when Path of Exile: Expedition launches in less than a day! In this news post, we've gathered all the information you need to know about what happens on launch day and how to start downloading early.

The realm goes down and patching begins at: July 23rd, 10:00AM (PDT)
The servers go live at: July 23rd, 1:00PM (PDT)

Three hours before the end of the countdown, the realm will go down and patching will begin shortly after. When the countdown ends, the servers will be live and you'll be able to join the Expedition League!

The patch size for the update will be around 8GB on the standalone client and Steam. We've also made a torrent available for this update which is around 25GB. Please keep in mind that this method, while available earlier, makes it a larger update as it includes all the existing client content. When patching begins for Path of Exile: Expedition you'll also have a few remaining files that you'll need to update as well.

This torrent only includes the GGPK file, so you'll need to copy it into your actual install folder once the patching server is up, no earlier than three hours before Path of Exile: Expedition launches. Please note that you can't use this GGPK file with the Steam client and macOS.

Path of Exile: Expedition will launch on consoles at July 28th, 5:00PM (PDT). Downtime will begin for deployment at approximately July 28th, 1:00PM (PDT).
