Champion Shift News

Greetings Champion! Update 0.3.1 of our demo has dropped here on Steam. This release fixes issues and bugs as well as general improvements to the game’s user experience:

• A dash ability has been added, which can be activated by using RB on your controller (or right click w/ mouse). This will greatly improve your ability to dodge incoming firepower without needing to shift into car mode
  
• New gameplay UI improvements: moved the minimap to the upper right corner for better visibility and added a new Celestial Gift tracker, which lets you know at a glance your current build for better planning of your run
  
• New stage: Desert Facility (Night version)
  
• New Celestial Boons: Ymir’s Howl, Arctic Blast, Ice Shards, Celestial Orb, Deadly Orbit & Cosmic Energy
  
• General balance changes (this is a work in progress and will keep improving with time!)
  
• Tons and tons of bug fixes.

Greetings Champions! We are extremely proud to announce the release of Champion Shift’s ONLINE co-op demo!

This new demo version has a bunch of improvements over our original single player demo, more content, more action, more shifting and just an overall more exhilarating experience. Here is a sample of some of the new features and content you can expect:

• Athena is now playable!
  
• New stage: Dominion desert facility
  
• Both day and night city stages have been reworked
  
• Play single player or multiplayer
  
• Invite friends through Steam, or use a lobby code to share
  
• New Celestial Gift upgrade menu in-game, which allows for lightning fast selection
  
• All new enemies! Watch out, some will surprise you
  
• New boss fight: Dynamo
  
• Many many fixes and improvements all around

Greetings, brave champions! In this spotlight, we dive deep into the mystic waters of the East, where the Dragon God Ryujin reigns supreme. With his legendary jewels, Manju and Kanju, he commands the very essence of the sea. These jewels are yours to wield, and they will empower you to cleanse the battlefield of the Dominion Forces with the might of the ocean itself. Let's explore the awe-inspiring gifts bestowed upon you by the Dragon King and his jewels:



Upon invoking this celestial gift, you conjure a swirling zone of water around you. This aqueous vortex periodically damages any nearby enemies, enveloping them in the cleansing power of the sea. As you move through the battlefield, the Dominion Forces will feel the tide of your wrath, washing over them like a relentless wave.



With this jewel’s power, the water zone expands, amplifying its reach and influence. Enemies caught within this area face the full force of your aquatic onslaught. Additionally, the Jewel of Manju grants you a one-time boost in movement speed, allowing you to swiftly maneuver through the battlefield.



The Jewel of Kanju enhances your control over the waves. It increases the chance of hitting enemies multiple times, ensuring that no Dominion Forces escape the deluge of your assault. Furthermore, it allows the waves to carry the potential of on-hit effects, delivering additional punishment to your foes.


Harness the power of the Dragon King's jewels to become a force of nature on the battlefield. Cleanse your surroundings with Ryujin's Aura, expand your reach with the Jewel of Manju, and unleash devastating multi-hit attacks with the Jewel of Kanju. The Dominion Forces will soon learn that when the sea rises, so does the tide of your power.

Every story etched in our history has been written by those that emerged victorious; heroes and villains, fighting for the destiny of our realm. In the world of Champion Shift, these stories are shrouded in the shadow cast by the imposing force known as the Dominion.

As the world grew and became interconnected, a corporation led by a mysterious but eccentric individual seized every opportunity to tighten its grip on systems, infrastructure, and even entire governing bodies. The Dominion, as they came to be known, etched their name synonymously with control. No one could escape them. No one would oppose them.

Their secluded leader, hidden from the eyes of the world, became obsessed with old legends and stories spanning our realm. As a consequence, artifacts,ancient writings and archeological findings became the Dominion’s primary obsession. Their leader believed that the true Primal Powers of the realm lay within these legends, awaiting a master to unleash their might and secure absolute dominance.

His plan: to use the Dominion’s technological machinations to summon to our reality the world’s most powerful gods and legendary warriors; to ensnare them and siphon them of their core powers and abilities, stripping them down to mere echoes of their former glory. To achieve this sinister plan, the Dominion scoured the planet in search of relics that were bound to these Champions, and experimented on them in evil and twisted ways.

Suddenly, one by one, the legends materialized. Gods from every pantheon, warriors from every myth. All of them, Champions of history. Not even the Dominion’s most trusted scientists could believe their eyes. Weakened by their arrival, the Champions were defenseless, imprisoned by the Dominion's clutches, their essence siphoned to fortify the Dominion's power. All hope seemed lost.

Yet, the stories that define us are not so easily erased, and legends will never be held down. Against all odds, they fight and survive, and become worthy of the title of Champions.

Their escape was only a matter of time…
