Train Simulator Classic 2024 News

High Iron Sale Now On!

High Iron Simulations’ development of content for Train Simulator Classic dates back to 2012 and the creation of a wide variety of scenarios for Steam Workshop. In the years since, High Iron has provided the community with more than 360 free scenarios as well as a freeware route, the Bedford Junction Branch, at Steam Workshop. In total, High Iron Simulations’ scenarios at Steam Workshop have been downloaded more than a million times!

As a member of Dovetail Games’ Partner Programme, High Iron Simulations introduced its first Career Scenario Pack in 2016 and has since developed more than 30 scenario packs known for high levels of realism and authenticity. High Iron Simulations scenario packs bring to Train Simulator Classic coast to coast railroading from across the eras, offering experiences ranging from the bustle of Northeast Corridor action to tough and unforgiving railroading in the towering mountains of the American west.

The acclaimed CSX Hanover Subdivision route of 2020 marked the release of High Iron Simulations first commercial route for Train Simulator Classic. Extending from Hagerstown, Maryland via historic Gettysburg to Hanover, Pennsylvania, this rugged contemporary CSX line, originally built by the Western Maryland, features a tough, saw-tooth profile, steep grades, heavy tonnage, and modern CSX power. To recall and bring the Western Maryland era to life on the Hanover Subdivision route, High Iron Simulations introduced the Western Maryland Retro Pack 01, featuring WM motive power, rolling stock, and additional career scenarios. And High Iron Simulations has since developed additional retro packs for the Chessie System, Baltimore & Ohio, Penn Central, and Santa Fe.

In 2021, High Iron Simulations released its monumental and best-selling B&O Mountain Subdivision route, which recreates the legendary Baltimore & Ohio’s “West End” original main line across the Alleghenies from Cumberland, Maryland to Grafton, West Virginia during the Chessie era. Also including the Western Maryland’s Thomas Subdivision, the route totals more than 145 route miles and features four locomotive types, more than 20 freight cars, and career scenarios. And the B&O Mountain Subdivision Retro Pack delivers even more classic action with four types of locomotives, freight equipment, and career scenarios from the B&O era!

North American railroading is captivating, diverse, and challenging. High Iron Simulations’ routes, retro packs, and scenario packs bring all that drama to Train Simulator Classic – and the full and popular line of High Iron Simulations products are now on sale at the Steam Store!

Master The Machine With Train Sim World 3

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

Train Sim World 3 features a brand-new dynamic weather system with volumetric skies, all powered by a new lighting system. Drive your loco through the extremes of weather such as heavy snow and thunderstorms! Standard Edition includes three route expansions, nine high-powered locomotives, including BNSF for the first time in Train Sim World, and much more.

Experience the thrill of 280km/h with the ICE 1 in Schnellfahrstrecke Kassel-Würzburg, Train Sim World’s longest route to date, conquer American mountains with the 4400-horsepower ES44C4 in Cajon Pass, and travel on Britain’s fastest train, the Class 395 ‘Javelin’, in an expanded Southeastern High Speed that now includes Ashford International and Dartford. Southeastern High Speed features a much-extended service pattern that includes dedicated timetables for the BR Class 465/9, new signalling (including approach control), new overhead lines, track re-laying, and improved scenery (including a fully-explorable Ebbsfleet station)

The Training Center is a new feature for Train Sim World 3 that allows you to learn how to drive the locomotives featured in the game on a route inspired by a real test track! All Train Sim World 3 players have access to this.
We understand that players from around the world want to play their favourite routes and locos. Loco add-ons released after Train Sim World 3 will no longer require you to own a certain route as a requirement. These add-ons will still have a “focus” route for which they have Scenarios and Services, but this decoupling means you’ll be able to purchase any loco add-on released after Train Sim World 3 and learn how to master it in the new Training Center before you take it out on to the tracks and into Creators Club.

Players will be able to choose from a variety of Train Sim World 3 editions, in addition to Train Sim World 3: Deluxe Edition and Train Sim World 3: Standard edition, but you will also be able to select from a range of Train Sim World 3 ‘Starter Packs’. These new editions will contain the brand-new Training Center and one route expansion (Cajon Pass, Southeastern High Speed, Kassel-Würzburg, and Spirit of Steam) meaning you can get right into the action mastering the locomotive you want, on the route you want.
As an additional bonus, players who already own Southeastern High Speed: St Pancras - Faversham Route Add-on and/or Spirit of Steam: Liverpool Lime Street - Crewe Add-on in Train Sim World 2 will receive the updated versions of these routes for free upon purchasing any copy of Train Sim World 3, including regional starter packs. Train Sim World 3 now has multiple ways to play and gives you the freedom to really customize your experience.

We will also be releasing ALL existing Train Sim World 2 compatible content at launch, so when you switch to Train Sim World 3 you will be able to play on all of the routes and locos you own from Train Sim World 2.
Pre-Orders for Train Sim World 3 Deluxe Edition and Standard Edition are now available on Steam, PlayStation, Xbox (Deluxe Only) and Epic Games Store. The standard edition will be available on Xbox Game Pass at launch. When you pre-order on your selected store, you will have 4-day Early Access to Train Sim World 3 as well as a bonus decal pack to use within the livery editor to share on Creators Club, the home of player customization in Train Sim World.

You can learn more about Train Sim World 3 by reading our FAQs and watching our announce keynote video from the Railfan TV team, which goes into a lot more depth about what you can expect. We'll also be releasing the first half of a special two-part Train Sim World 3 Roadmap article tomorrow which will take you a behind-the-scenes of the routes, locos, and some of the new features included:
