Asteroids ++ 1.3.1 - Speed Utility Refactor and Player Weight Removal

[h2]Overhauled the speed utility:[/h2]
  • [p]Speed utility is now available in casual difficulty, previously it was locked down due to the weight system[/p]
  • [p]BUT speed no longer affects player speed, it now affects player bullets[/p]
  • [p]What does that mean? Some weapons rely on player speed to deal even more damage, for instance, rockets, fireworks and mini rock pods deal damage the larger the impact is. Other bullets get other benefits, like the shotgun being able to reach further down the line.[/p]
  • [p]With this change, the power star utility will be much more useful since you wont go spinning around in places and it is easier to memorize player movement and controls without dynamically changing.[/p]
  • [p]This change also removes player weight functionality entirely from the game. It was annoying that you would never know what kind of player weight you had when you put a certain weapon, and it was getting increasingly harder to balance with more items, so it is removed![/p]
  • [p]Dash ability and strafing now get a speed buff depending on speed utility, which was supposed to be a thing in the first place.[/p]
[h3]Performance issues[/h3]
  • [p]There was an performance issue where if many asteroids were to be on top of each other, a blend effect would kick in and it was possible for hundreds of asteroids to blend colors which would cause huge lag spikes, especially for yellow asteroids. With this change I hope to reduce lags so you can destroy even more asteroids at smooth framerates.[/p]
  • [p]Let me know if this change has improved the performance[/p]
[h3]Other changes[/h3]
  • [p]Speed utility is now significantly cheaper[/p]
  • [p]Shift no longer activates abilities, as that is now for player strafing[/p]
  • [p]Repair kit shotgun boost nerfed by 33%, other weapons unchanged[/p]
[p]Also in the following updates I will continue to refactor some parts of the game to make the development a bit easier. Since the beginning I've got some bad code written down which does stagger development a bit, but even if it's not as bad I will try to improve some areas where I think the game can benefit.[/p]

- Daily levels can now equip the player with fireworks and the power star
- Fireworks, rockets and rockpods now turn 180 degrees when hit by a dark green asteroid
- Fixed crash for daily levels (thanks awaranoid)

Changes:
[p]Added two new campaigns: Teegarden Campaign and The Jovian Moons[/p][p]Teegarden Campaign features 4 planets, with a new gimmick of 'disproportionate' planets, where you will face 3x4 planets, or 4x3. The campaign will feature Teegarden B, C and D, and the Teegarden Star, which is 5x5![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]The Jovian Moons campaign features 6 planets: Ganymede, Callisto, Io, Europa, Amalthea, Himalia. These are Jupiter's moons, this is a very hard campaign, but worth the shot![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]DLCS FOR BOTH ARE COMING SOON, BUY PLANETS HERE TO UNLOCK THESE CAMPAIGNS[/p][p][/p][p]Added fireworks, a powerful expensive weapon, costing 400 $$$, which fires straight and when it gets destroyed, it makes a powerful explosion and fires rockets. The firework explosion deals stronger splash damage than the rocket, and it can harm the player so be careful![/p][p][/p][p]Added the powerstar ability, for a short time, feel the luxury of level 12 weapons and utilities. Costs 150 $$$[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Added skill tree upgrades for the fireworks and powerstar[/p][p]Some shop icons have been updated, they haven't been updated in the steam inventory but they will be soon enough.   • [p]Laser damage falloff increased from 25% to 50% (nerf)[/p]
  • [p]Every wave, bouncy orbs will spawn where the player is instead of every battle starting.[/p]
  • [p]Bouncy orbs charge damage decreased from 7X to 5X[/p]
  • [p]Bouncy orbs can now be destroyed by a black hole[/p]
  • [p]A black hole can attract fireworks.[/p]
  • [p]UFOs can fire fireworks, and it's rockets are evil! But the explosion from the firework can self-harm the UFO itself.[/p]
  • [p]Rockets now last 10 seconds before exploding, or 1 second + (.33s per firework level) if shot from the firework.[/p]
  • [p]Updated recruitment names[/p]
  • [p]When switching from planet to planet, you can now get weapons up to fireworks[/p]
  • [p]Added 2 new wave types: Asteroid Wall and Mothership Time[/p]

4th Drop
[p]Asteroids ++ now introduces the 4TH DROP IN THE GAME.[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]When playing the game you will receive random planet items in your inventory and they will be available during the 1.3.X period. Drops are determined based on how long / often you play the game.[/p]
  • [p]Later they will be replaced by future drops and will no longer be droppable by the game, so gather as many as you can![/p]
  • [p]The 3rd Drop of planets is no longer available. You can only gather them through the market or trading.[/p]

[p]Oh, yeah, also:[/p][h2]VERY RARE GOLDEN DROPS #004[/h2][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]They are tied to the normal planet drops, except they are 1% chance for a drop, making them much harder to obtain! You get them normally by playing the game, but once the 4th drop of planets are over, these will be impossible to obtain through normal means. Good Luck![/p][p]Also, from the 4th drop, you can from now on buy Golden Planets, if you are a crazy collector![/p][h2]Fixes:[/h2][p]- Fixed a bug where you could enter the Proxima centauri campaign even if you didnt own it, caused some confusion because of it. Now its fixed.[/p][p]- Removed rocket particles which should clear some lag for some people[/p][h2]Technical stuff:[/h2][p]- Code-refactored the entire campaign system, which will help me develop the Endless Run gamemode, but also the Level Editor. There could be small changes between the campaigns, if you see any bugs due to this, please let me know.[/p][p]- Same refactoring was done to the player, which allows for further clone support and seamless level changing between shop items.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]That's all!
