FPS Fest | Demo!

Officers,

Long time no report, but we've got something for you now that's bound to catch your attention.

Tactical Squad: SWAT Stories is taking part in Steam's FPS Fest event, taking place from April 15-22! The event starts at 10:00 AM Pacific Time (19:00 CEST) and hosts a broad range of everything that's first-person shooter!



To celebrate the occasion, we're once again bringing you a sample of the game!

In the demo, we're revisiting the game's first mission – Silence of the Hansons – both in co-op and single player with two new game modes!
For those of you who haven't had the opportunity to see it yet, bring your SWAT squad to a mission involving a trio of dangerous individuals suspected of holding prisoners in their lone farmhouse.
For those of you who have played it before, we'd like to share our many improvements to general gameplay, AI, and some new quality-of-life features that are bound to make your experience with the game even better.

Second Playtest Pause Soon!

We're pleased to have gathered a new round of valuable intel from you all in Tactical Squad's second playtest. But now, it's once again time for us to pause and execute our newest plans for the game. We wouldn't be able to make them so easily without your input!

We're going to conclude the second playtest with the end of January 19th CET. If you haven't tried our second mission yet, be sure you do before we pause!

Updates and Second Playtest!

As we work on numerous aspects of SWAT Stories, its prologue version, "First Shot" receives several fixes and improvements. But we know there's a piece of news you've been waiting for even more eagerly. So, we're happy to confirm that our game's playtest returns tomorrow on Friday, November 24th at 3pm CET (9am EST) WITH A BRAND NEW MISSION – "HOT RECEPTION".

We'll make another announcement once the playtest is available to remind you about it. Remember, we'll be using the prologue's app for it right here:

Only when the playtest is live, will you be able to sign up (you won't need to sign up if you took part in the first playtest) and download/update the game.

Here are some updates you can expect in the second playtesting round:

GAMEPLAY
  • New mission - Hot Reception
  • Improved suspects' AI behavior models
  • Improved operators' AI reactions
  • Revised evidence mechanic model
  • Added a possible spawn for an "exceptionally creative" suspect
  • Added new interactive elements: gas tanks, rolling chairs, CCTV cameras, interactable doors on furniture
  • Added the 'Ping' function - setting a marker at a certain place in a cooperative game

EQUIPMENT
  • Improved grenade physics
  • Improved optical sights
  • Fixed Tablet issues in Chinese localization

BRIEFING
  • updated Briefing screen
  • Changed the logic of creating a lobby and switching the status between private and public lobby
  • Added 'Quick Match' feature
  • Added text chat for the team in the lobby
  • Updated menu and weapon customization screen

TUTORIAL
  • Fixed gameplay issues and localization errors in various languages

VISUAL
  • Added glass damage effects on cars
  • Added environmental response to weather changes
  • Fixed visual issues with blood spawning
  • Fixed a number of miscellaneous visual glitches

Playtest Pause Soon!

Officers,

Our game's playtest has been a resounding success thanks to you – more than 376 000 total individual participants and the invaluable feedback you've been providing us with.

The reports and opinions we've been gathering from you have transformed into ideas and adjustments that we've been working hard on introducing into the game, both prologue and final version.

We've also reached a point where completely focusing on the development plans we have so far is the best course of action for the game, without rehashing previous ideas or looking for new ones that could distract us from accomplishing what everyone is expecting Tactical Squad to become.

This is why we're going to pause the playtest with the end of October 22nd, the coming weekend. You're still very welcome to try out the game until then!
