Bye Sweet Carole News

I’ve had good luck with games this year. Even the ones I wasn’t particularly excited to review have turned out better than expected. The exception is Bye Sweet Carole, which is a shame, because it was the one I was looking forward to the most. On paper — or in this case, in screenshots — it hits all my indie-darling buttons:

Narrative adventure: Check

Dark fantasy: Check

Horror: Check

Hand-drawn art: Check

Unfortunately, none of these elements come together in a satisfying way. The main problem is that Bye Sweet Carole tries to do too much with too little. Its ambitions are lofty, but it never takes the time to see any of them through. The game leans heavily on its gorgeous hand-drawn animation and painterly backdrops to mask the lack of substance at its core. It seems promising at first, despite the awkward narration and occasional visual hiccups. Today, we are introducing the sweet Josephine!



Josephine could be considered Lana's guardian angel! While diplomatic and kind, she's also reserved and shy. She sternly condemns the cruelty inflicted on Lana by the other girls at Bunny Hall Orphanage.



Could there be more behind Josephine's quiet, gentle aura? Could she know more than it seems about Carole’s disappearance?

Hello, Dear Rabbits!

Today, we’re excited to introduce two new faces: Vicky and Amanda!
Though we’re debuting them together, these two couldn’t be more different…

Let's start with Vicky, the leader of the bullies! Vicky and her followers' goal is to make life tough for Lana and Carole. When Carole goes missing, Vicky uses her influence to obstruct Lana in her
investigation. That is, until one day things take an unexpected turn.



On the contrary, is kind-hearted Amanda! Arriving at Bunny Hall right after Carole “escaped,” she is targeted by Vicky and the other bullies. Passionate about reading and the women's suffrage movement, she becomes entangled in Lana’s misadventures between the mortal world and the realm beyond the breach, searching for answers about Carole’s disappearance!



While each of these characters will play a different role in Lana's journey, they're equally important to the storyline. We can't wait for you to encounter the girls of Bunny Hall for yourselves!

Today's reveal features Frank the Rust Man! 🧹


Frank is the silent housekeeper at the Bunny Hall, who is tasked with exterminating the bunny colonies in the nearby park to make way for the new factories.


The girls at Bunny Hall are frightened by him, and they tell creepy stories about his past. The creak of his leg prosthesis gives them chills.

What role will Frank the Rust Man play in Lana's journey? We’ll have to sweep that mystery under the rug...for now!
