Tavern Ventures: Guilds & Tales News

Seekers, Dishes & Ingredients

We're thrilled to share with you many of the amazing icons that are already in Tavern Ventures! And there's more! These are just a few of the icons you'll see in the final version of the game.

We're going to kick things off with the seekers, who were already mentioned in the last announcement! We've already got three amazing races for you to choose from:
- Elves
- Dwarves
- Humans

These are dishes that you get to add to the menu! You'll also be in charge of their price and customers will be able to order them.

And now for something really special! We've got the last types of icons for you today: the icons for ingredients acquired by seekers and used for the dishes you just learned.

As you can see, there are so many ingredients! And the dishes using them can also be many!
If you have an idea for a dish using them, and you don't see it on our menu, let us know! You can write directly under the announcement or on our Discord server. We will add the best of your ideas to the game!

Here is our list of recipes:

Tavern Ventures: Chapter 3 - Tavern Crew

Want the usual?
Sit down, and we'll tell you more about running a Tavern

Many customers mean success, but it's not as colorful as it seems. Picking up orders, preparing them in the kitchen, and then carrying them to the customer… A lot of work, right?
But it doesn't have to be that way!
All it takes is a couple of employees and your life will become easier. Well-in a way.
Employees
On the tavern menu, you can hire employees to do your tavern duties.
You can choose from the available waiters and cooks, but each has their preference for work. You need to pay attention to their statistics such as productivity, or how much they charge per hour.

Remember—the Tavern is a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week business that never closes, so there is a lot of work. Before you hire someone, you better think about whether you can afford the employee.
Seekers
You can also hire seekers. They don't work in the Tavern, but they provide products with which you can prepare customer orders.
So it's no different than you just thought - you have to spend to earn.

Seekers are the part of your crew that knows no fear. We send them out to check out rumors we've heard from customers, or they've searched some dungeons for us, and even conquered an area for us.
Each of them has their own individual statistics, which affect the success of the mission given to them by you.

Well, it's time for us to go,
The prospectors are just coming back and we have to see what they managed to get.
Until the next meeting, future tavern keeper!
New look for Tavern Ventures
We have a short announcement for you today about Tavern Ventures, but it's packed with news!

What have we been working on recently?
A lot of work is behind us, but there’s still much more to be done to make the game everything we’ve dreamed of! You can see the results of our recent efforts on the game’s STEAM page, where new screenshots have been uploaded. We encourage you to check them out, and later in this article, we'll explain exactly what has changed. 😉

Recent Updates:
 • Designed and implemented action selection wheels.
 • Redesigned many of the tavern management windows to make managing the tavern more enjoyable and user-friendly.
 • Revamped the UI.
 • Updated main game graphics.
 • Changes to the mechanics of initiating conversations with tavern guests.
 • Introduced a bargaining system for interactions with tavern guests.
What are we working on now?
We prefer not to make promises about future features too early. Plans can change, and no one likes being disappointed when something they were looking forward to doesn’t make it into the game, right? That’s why we are committed to honesty and transparency. We will only talk about what’s currently in progress and guaranteed to be in the game.

So, what’s next for Tavern Ventures?
 • We are in the process of designing a few new characters.
 • We are working on the mechanics and the guild system.
 • We are working on renewing the map

Of course, these are not all the changes that will come to the game in the future, so if you are curious about what the future of the game will bring then we encourage you to add it to your wishlist and watch our announcements. We assure you that we will share any news of the game.

The game is constantly being developed so keep in mind that what we show may look different in the game's final version.

And if you have any interesting ideas or comments, check out our Discord where we will be happy to talk :)

Tavern Ventures: Chapter 2 - New Tavern

We see you've returned to hear about how the tavern works! So, sit down and listen.
Menu
A new tavern means a clean slate. The menu is also empty, so when customers come in and can't order food, they're not too happy. Their stomachs are growling, and there's no food.

So, let's start by setting up the tavern's menu. Each dish can be added to the menu, and its price can be increased or decreased. We'll show you how.

Changing the price also affects the tavern's reputation. A higher price means a lower reputation. People don't like to spend a lot of money, so they like the tavern more when prices are low. There's nothing you can do about it—that's just the way this damn world works. Each dish on the menu requires ingredients to prepare, and you can check what ingredients you have in the tavern's storage.

There's not much, but remember, this is a newly opened tavern. Everything needs to be earned, and if you keep coming here regularly, we've already got our first regular customer! Maybe you'll get a discount on beer?
See you around, adventurer!

Tavern Ventures: Chapter 1 - The beginning of the story

We're taking you on a journey through Tavern Ventures today. So sit down comfortably at the bar and tell us what you're going to drink, and we'll let you know the first chapter of the story. Are you ready?
It started like this...
The Idea
Adventures and stories always have a beginning somewhere.
In the world of fantasy and medievalism, the tavern is where the best ones begin. It's where friendships begin, it's where you can learn about the monster that spends the peasants' sleep, or unknowingly be targeted. This building is not only the beginning of the story but also often the end! It is to the tavern that heroes come after wandering and fighting, to drink, eat, and rest while recounting what they have just experienced... unless, of course, they died in the course of their adventure.
The innkeeper in all these stories plays a minor role, but how much he has listened! After all, he is the one at all the trade talks and stories of the adventurers!

That's where the idea for the Tavern Ventures game came from!

So work has begun on a game in which you play the role of an innkeeper running his tavern. We moved on to planning, creation, and intense thinking. The first characters were created, as well as concept drawings, which we are happy to present to you today.

How it turns out, however... Running a business in the Middle Ages is not the easiest thing to do. If you think that an innkeeper just pours beer and serves pigs to the table - we must disappoint you. However, we will tell you about it another time.
