We're excited to release first part of a recently announced Planetiles roadmap - the Disruptive Tech update. We're celebrating by adding a cool 25% discount until June 24th!

[h3]New Disruptive Technology - Pressure Dissolver[/h3]



Disruptive Tech is a new type of technology that takes over all 3 basic technology slots. In this roadmap update, we're introducing first type of such tech - the Pressure Dissolver. This relaxed, laid-back tech disables all cataclysms, basic technologies and structures, giving players 5 chunk rerolls every 500 points. It is the first type of disruptive tech that we're introducing so stay tuned for more in the upcoming roadmap updates.

[h3]Increased Level Cap[/h3]
We increased the level cap from 21 to 24. Players that already maxed out the XP and reached level 21 will need to put in some additional effort to unlock new missions and most importantly - new Disruptive Technology.

[h3]New missions[/h3]
We've added 2 new mission types to Planetiles. Players need to unlock them first by achieving certain xp levels: first mission (small planet) is unlocked by reaching level 22 and second (medium planet) - on level 24. Once unlocked, these new missions will appear on any playthrough.

[h3]Other quality of life improvements[/h3]
Find my Land - In the Infinite Mode, if player hovers far away from already built islands and cant find the way back, simply clicking (LMB or A/X on a gamepad) will automatically transport player to the last built structure.

Improved Menu/UI navigation - We added a number of UI and menu changes with options to hide informational text during tutorials, highlighting structeres once hovered on and many other smaller improvements to make gameplay easier to understand and follow tracks of missions and structural perks.

• Music is now resumed correctly after restarting the level
  
• Option to hide the informational text bar during the tutorial
  
• Fixed Climate Warming cataclysm visual effects
  
• Structures are now highlighted when player hovers over them
  
• Fixed rare situations where gaps are surrounded by ice on icy mission
  
• Added "Find my Land" feature when navigating away on infinite planet
  
• Improved menu navigation hiding objects below current UI layer
  
• Added water tile preview to Sandbox mode
  
• Fixed NPCs like rabbits or harvesters not disappearing after tile removal
  
• Fixed rare performance issues on Linux and improved performance overall on all platforms

After the recent Planetiles Soundtrack premiere on Steam, we're excited to be back with another announcement and this time, its the long requested roadmap!

[h3]Plans for 2024[/h3]

As we're moving forward with the next projects, Planetiles development remains one of the top priority objectives and the promised roadmap is already in the works, alongside a community highscore event that we will introduce next week. Last week also marked the achievement of a Metacritic highscore and now we proudly sit on 80%!



As for the roadmap itself, we split the updates into 3 main content updates that include new game mode, missions, technologies, quality of life improvements and something for the record brakers and highscores chasers - higher level cap. In between these updates, we will focus on balancing and other smaller tweaks and adjustments such as highscores menus optimisations and everything else requested by the community. All these updates and content will be coming to Planetiles free of charge, available to all current and future players.

For September 2024, we're planning something special that for now remains undisclosed and will be revealed closer to its release. Stay tuned for more!
