The wait is over - the gods have decreed that The Deadly Path demo is now live! This is your chance to descend into the underworld, prove your worth, and experience the dark depths of this roguelike strategy videogame.




We’ve packed this demo with plenty of content to sink your teeth into. Here’s what awaits:

Start your journey with a comprehensive tutorial that will teach you the fundamentals of managing your underworld empire, appeasing the Dread Pantheon, and surviving the trials ahead.

Step into the role of Roiann and experience their unique mechanics and challenges. Each god in The Deadly Path offers a distinct playstyle, and this is your first taste of what’s to come.

Discover the brand-new power-up system and use it to bend the underworld to your will. Experiment with these powerful boosts to forge new strategies and optimize your runs.

There’s no limit to how many times you can play the demo. Refine your approach, master the mechanics, and see how far you can push your skills.




For those who conquer the demo, we’ve got some self-imposed challenges for you to try:
Finish Faster: See if you can complete the game in fewer cycles than before.
Use Fewer Power-Ups: Can you triumph with less divine intervention? Put your skills to the test.
Share your victories, strategies, and tips with the community—we’re eager to see how you rise to the challenge.




The gods are not done testing you. As part of Next Fest, we’ll be releasing another demo that includes another playable god alongside Roiann. This will be your chance to experience even more unique mechanics, challenges, and divine powers. Stay tuned for more details on who will join the Dread Pantheon next!

Countless are the pretenders to Dungeon Keeper's skull-buttressed throne, but I sense a certain fearful promise in The Deadly Path, a building management and roguelike strategy game from Owlskip Enterprises. The setup here is that you're stuck in a tabletop underworld with a bunch of elder gods, or Dread Deities. As Custodian of this dusty funereal expanse, you must place structures on tiles around your throne room, striving to fulfil the desires of whichever Dread Deity is in play, while fending off pernicious attackers from the realm of light. We are thrilled to announce that on October 17th, The Deadly Path will open its gates for another Discord playtest, and for the FIRST time, you’ll get to serve the most barbaric and cunning deity yet—The Maw!

The Maw's underworld is no place for the faint-hearted, and in this playtest, you'll need every ounce of strategy to survive. Brace yourself for a deep dive into new gameplay features as you navigate the brutal, unforgiving world soon to be ruled by The Maw.

[h2]Here’s what you can expect:[/h2]

• New God: The Maw – Barbaric, brutal, and endlessly cunning. Master the dark arts of their domain and appease them to ensure your survival.
  
• Expanded Gameplay: Explore The Maw's unique mechanics and challenges, flex your strategic muscles, and adapt to their devious ways to emerge victorious.
  
• Exclusive Opportunity: We're asking participants to capture and share their playthroughs complete with commentary if possible! There are no dire consequences if you don’t, but the developers would be extremely grateful to see your gameplay footage.
