Regarding the Removal of Denuvo from inZOI (Updated)

Some of our past statements about Denuvo have been removed from the announcement after a careful discussion with the Denuvo team, as it may create somewhat unfounded preconceptions about their service. However, this does NOT change our decision about removing Denuvo, and our wayahead remains unchanged.

Hello,
This is Kjun, Producer & Director of inZOI.

Recently, we’ve seen growing concern around the implementation of the Denuvo anti-tamper solution in inZOI. While we wanted to respond as quickly as possible, we also felt it was important to approach the issue with care—consulting with teams from around the world to make a thoughtful and informed decision. We sincerely apologize for the delay in providing this official response.

To address the most important point: we have decided to remove Denuvo from the Early Access build of inZOI.

We initially chose to implement Denuvo as a way to protect the game from illegal distribution. At the time, we believed this would help ensure fairness for players who had properly purchased the game. However, after taking a closer look at community feedback, we quickly realized that this approach did not align with what our players wanted.

Our initial application of Denuvo on our main development build made it so that the inZOI: Creative Studio demo build, a branch from the main build, was also applied with the same anti-tamper. Unfortunately, we failed to properly inform our players of this application during the demo period, and we sincerely apologize for that oversight.

We understand that removing Denuvo increases the risk of the game being cracked and illegally distributed after release. At the same time, we believe it opens up a valuable opportunity: it allows inZOI to become more freely configurable—unlocking new ways for players to shape new experiences for other players. We believe enabling this freedom from the very beginning will lead to innovative and long-lasting enjoyment for the community.

As I mentioned during the Online Showcase, we are committed to making inZOI a highly moddable game. Our first stage of official mod support will launch in May, allowing players to use tools like Maya and Blender to create custom content. But this is only the beginning. Over time, we plan to expand mod support across more areas of the game, so you can customize and enhance your experience in many different ways. (More information on modding will be shared in a separate post.)

As a development team committed to putting players first, the decision to remove the anti-tamper solution became a clear one. We will continue to prioritize your feedback and make well-informed decisions throughout our Early Access development.

We want to sincerely apologize for not aligning more closely with player expectations on this sensitive issue. We regret the concern and confusion this has caused within the community, and we’re committed to rebuilding your trust as we move forward in developing the best possible experience.

Thank you so much for your continued love and support. Please keep sharing your feedback, as it truly helps us make inZOI better for everyone.

Sincerely,
Kjun

inZOI: Creative Studio - How to handle Known Issues

Hi, Creators!

We’ve been receiving some recurring questions from you all, so here’s a quick guide to help clarify a few things!

If you’re experiencing any of the following issues, please check the information below:

[hr][/hr]

1. Facial Capture isn’t working – What should I check?

If you are having trouble with Facial Capture,

  • Make sure you are using an iOS device, as facial capture is only supported on iOS.
    • Facial Capture is supported on iOS 16.0 or later.
  • Ensure both your iOS device and PC are connected to the same network.
  • Check your Windows Defender Firewall settings.
    • Go to Firewall and change the network from Public to Private.

2. Seeing a “Missing File Privileges” error when installing via Steam?

This is often caused by Steam’s download cache. Here’s how to clear it:

  • In the Steam Client, click [Steam] > [Settings] in the top-left menu.
  • Select the [Downloads] tab and Click the [Clear Download Cache] button at the bottom.
  • Select [Confirm] to proceed. (Note: You’ll need to log back into Steam afterwards!)

If the error still occurs, it may be related to your system specifications or available memory.
Please check the System Requirements Page and submit a ticket via Customer Support Page for further assistance.

3. Getting “Invalid request.” message when uploading on Canvas?

To protect the Canvas system, uploads may be temporarily restricted if there are too many attempts in a short time.

The restriction will lift automatically 24 hours after it begins. Please try again later.

4. The game resolution looks off. How can I fix it?

If unexpectedly low resolution or stretched screens when launching the game happens, try adjusting the resolution manually using the steps below:

  • Open the config file located at:
    • C:\Users\{YourUsername}\AppData\Local\BlueClient\Saved\Config\Windows
  • Modify the values in the file

5. Getting “Your creation's file size exceeds the maximum limit. Please upload a smaller file.” when uploading on Canvas?

It may occur when the content you're trying to upload exceeds the allowed file size limit for Canvas.

This usually means the creation is too large to be uploaded.

Please try reducing the number of included elements such as items, assets, or images to lower the file size.
