Developer's Note: June Update

Hello, Stalkers!
First and foremost, we want to extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who participated in the surprise test last month.

While there are countless tasks to tackle, we'd like to share some of the key areas we are prioritizing and our plans for the future.
Validation and testing of the
major improvement tasks from the May surprise test:
We received a diverse array of feedback on the content added during this test, exceeding our expectations. Once again, thank you for your valuable feedback.

  1. New Player Character Summoner Rene
  2. New PvP mode Supremacy
  3. Equipment Stat Rerolling / Equipment Crafting Feature
  4. Daily Quests
  5. Addition of New Equipment slots such as necklace, ring, etc.
  6. Lobby Customization
  7. Addition of Cool Dances
  8. Improved Attack Speed
  9. Increased Frequency of Crimson Veil and Witch's Curse occurrences
  10. Changed to Allow Equipping New Armor even if the current one is destroyed
  11. Changed to allow random matchmaking for one player in 2-player parties
  12. Improvements to ranking leaderboards, etc.

We are currently in the process of implementing improvements based on the feedback received on the aforementioned topics. Additionally, we anticipate that you may be curious about the areas we are aiming to improve in the future.
Areas we are preparing to
improve quickly after the May surprise test:
1. Adjusting Equipment Drop Rates
During the recent test, many players felt that the drop rate for good equipment in dungeons was too high, reducing the need for other content like crafting. We deeply understand this concern and plan to balance it so that dungeons and crafting content can coexist appropriately.

  2. New PvP Mode: Supremacy
Supremacy was the biggest addition during this test. It is still in the development stage, but it was the core content of the test. We wanted to collect and incorporate your feedback from the development stage, all the way through to the completion of the mode. Although there were some server stability issues during the test, we aim to have them ironed out in time for the next test so that we can test the fun factor and balance of the mode.

  3. Balancing New Content and Features
There were various opinions regarding the balance of newly added features. For example, there was considerable feedback regarding adjustments to the gold cost for equipment re-rolling. We are currently working on balancing these finer details. The equipment swapping system was well received by many Stalkers, and we plan to finalize improvements to it. Additionally, we plan to implement unique attributes for each type of armor in the future.

  4. Improving Non-Intuitive Monster Patterns and Adjusting Difficulty of Some Monsters
We will adjust the balance of certain monsters like gargoyles, which received a lot of feedback regarding PVE difficulty.

  5. Expanding the Use of Acquired Resources
While playing the game, players acquire various resources. Instead of solely focusing on the goal of acquisition, we aim to constantly consider and expand the range of possibilities for how these resources can be utilized. Although this is a long-term endeavor, we plan to reflect ways to utilize leftover resources in the next test as well.

  6. Other Convenience Features and Design Improvements
We also aim to implement some convenience features and design improvements that can be quickly applied. While some improvements may require time for development, we intend to swiftly apply changes to items that received a lot of feedback. For example, a quick sort function for stash and bags and enhancing the visibility of buff and debuff icons. Additionally, there was considerable feedback regarding a training mode, which was already part of the development plan, so we aim to consider its implementation as early as the next test.

  7. Balance Adjustments and Improvements for New and Existing Characters
We will make adjustments based on feedback about the balance of the new character Rene and other Stalkers. Rene has received a lot of feedback regarding unclear hit detection and the ambiguous use of ice summons. She is a character intended to excel at PvE. We will focus on making hunting more enjoyable, and pay more attention to increasing her utility in PvP.

  8. Improving Character Animations and Hitboxes
Feedback regarding animations and hitboxes for certain characters has been noted, and we intend to make improvements based on the feedback provided for the next test. The development team will pay more attention and effort to elevate the overall quality.

  9. Game Optimization
Game optimization is a significant task, and we are considering and applying various different methods to ensure that you can enjoy the game in the best possible way.

  10. Other Improvements
We are gradually preparing to implement more improvements to other convenience features as well. We fully empathize with the need for a key binding system, based on the feedback from the last test, and we are currently working on its implementation. However, we feel that there are some areas that need further refinement before being fully integrated into the game for this test. Therefore, we plan to take some more time to ensure a stable introduction within the game. Additionally, we are carefully considering the implementation of other convenience features such as spectator mode and reporting functionality for disruptive users.

Finally, emote features, such as dances, were more well-received than anticipated. We are gradually preparing to introduce a variety of new emotes. We are also considering implementing unique emotes for each character.

Certainly, there are many details that are difficult to convey in a brief message, but many aspects will undergo changes in the upcoming tests.
Plans for the Next Test:
The upcoming test will be on a larger scale than the recent surprise test we conducted. Based on the feedback you provided, we will quickly improve what we can, address any shortcomings, and thoroughly prepare for the next test.

In addition to the 7 Stalkers previously introduced, we are preparing to unveil new Stalkers with various charms. We are also in the process of developing new maps with exciting environments to provide even more exhilarating gameplay. Furthermore, we are preparing new Witch's Curses and items to heighten the tension in the game, so please stay tuned.

We are also planning promotions through various media channels. We believe the next test will allow more Stalkers to experience what the dungeon has to offer.

While the downtime between tests can be dull, we’re preparing various lore dives and stories for you to enjoy.

Once again, we extend our deepest gratitude to all the Stalkers who participated in the test. Please continue to show interest and support for Dungeon Stalkers. We will work even harder to meet your expectations.

Stay healthy, and we look forward to seeing you in better form in the next test.

Thank you.
David
