Update 8 - Quality of Life improvements
Hello Runners!
As we revealed last week in our roadmap update, we are currently focusing on Quality of Life improvements and decided to postpone the release of the Season 2.

Veteran runners have been asking for a controller scheme that is closer to SnowRunner’s. This update brings a new scheme that is much closer to SnowRunner’s Scheme A. We hope you’ll appreciate it. Don’t hesitate to give us feedback.

Another request that you had was to add a compass on the map. This has now been implemented.

Many other improvements have been made to make your experience smoother in Expeditions. You’ll find the complete details in the patch notes down below.

Once again, make sure to give us feedback on Focus Together, our community platform, so we can pinpoint where we can improve your experience.
PATCH NOTES
⚙️ Main features
 • New gamepad control scheme based on SnowRunner’s scheme A.
 • Compass added on the map
 • The bridges that have been built on the terrain are shown on the map.
 • Possibility of truck recovery to any accessible outpost, including recovery between different maps
 • Truck’s markers on the map have been redesigned:
 • The markers have been moved higher to avoid overlapping with the 3D thumbnail of the truck, which caused the player to not understand the direction of the truck
 • The truck’s markers take on the color corresponding to the player in the co-op session and include a hint with the player's name
 • Tips on the Customize screen, which add-on is required to install the selected add-on
 • Area exploration stages have been made easier: players don't have to explore hard-to-reach places to pass a stage
 • When the game starts, a 3D scene of the main menu is displayed instead of static 2D art
 • Several UX and texts improvements related to Base modules
 • Collected Amethyst crystals are sold on exit to HQ

⚙️ New vehicle
 • KHAN 317 Sentinel

A rugged and reliable 4x4 scout vehicle designed with flexibility in mind. This pickup features a robust frame and a functional exterior with a variety of accessible addons that allow adjustments to the vehicle for both off-road performance and cargo capacity, making it ideal for both tougher terrains and long-distance expeditions.

⚙️ Bug fixes
 • Fixed a significant number of crashes
 • Fixed SIRO 72 T8-H animations on Xbox One
 • PROS QR code is readable on Nintendo Switch Lite
 • Ready-made graphics preset doesn’t reset after restarting
 • Fullscreen display setting doesn’t reset after minimizing the game
 • Player’s info is displayed on the truck card on the map while using the Helipad
 • Fixed a bug where the trade window would not open for one of the co-op players if they were located too far away
 • Fixed a bug where a truck occupied by a Guest in the previous deployment is blocked as occupied in the new deployment
 • Fixed a bug where it wouldn't be possible to exit the trade if it had started while using a drone
 • The HUD layer is hidden when the Expedition Complete screen is displayed
 • Fixed an incorrect position of Start Co-op and Back buttons hints
 • Technical strings without localisation for visiting zones aren't displayed when using binoculars
 • Limited the number of stages that can be displayed on the screen at the same time on expeditions in the Sedona region
 • Fixed repeated sound after skipping a Drone scanning

Upcoming Improvements & Roadmap Update
Dear Expeditions players,
Since Season 1 has been released in September, we’ve been working relentlessly on the Season 2 content while addressing community requests on quality of life improvements, UI/UX elements, and fixing bugs through multiple patches.

We’re committed to continue to bring exciting new gameplay features as each season progresses, but, after a thorough review of your feedback, we've set our priority on polishing and improving your experience in Expeditions before expanding content further.

As a result, the Season 2 content drop will be released on February 27th 2025, in order to give us extra time to focus on improving the existing game first. We currently plan two major polish updates to tackle various topics and feedback you have raised over the past months, before going ahead again with new content in upcoming seasons. While this means Year Pass owners will have to wait a little longer for Season 2, our priority right now is to ensure a better experience for everyone.

It doesn't mean we aren't working hard on future content though, and we're happy to share that we have partnered with Mercedes to bring an exclusive, officially licensed Mercedes vehicle in Expeditions as part of the Year Pass future updates, on top of already planned content.

Please find below the list of improvements the team is working on. [STEAM ONLY] Year Pass owners will be able to beta test Season 2 in December through the Public Beta Branch.

Quality of Life improvements and bug fixing planned in the next update. This is a non-exhaustive list:

Improvement Patch 1 - 12th November
 • New gamepad control scheme based on SnowRunner experience (SR's scheme A)
 • Possibility of truck recovery to any accessible outpost, including recovery between different maps
 • Area exploration stages have been made easier: players don't have to explore hard-to-reach places to pass a stage
 • Added compass on the map
 • Added tips on the Customize screen, which add-on is required to install the selected add-on
 • The bridges which have been built on the terrain are now displayed on the map
 • New vehicle - KHAN 317 Sentinel

Improvement Patch 2
 • Additional Quality of Life improvements. We’ll get into more detail as the release of this update draws closer.

Thanks for your continued support,
The Expeditions Team
