[Public Beta Branch] Co-op update 4

We're updating the co-op mode on the Public Beta Branch with this fourth patch.

Keep giving us feedback, it greatly helps us!

  • Steam/EGS cross invite
  • Updated UI for the Sharing progress feature
  • Truck stickers as a gift for co-op play: complete requirements in co-op sessions to receive rewards
  • Twitch drops rewards: The feature has been added to the build, but hasn't been set up on the Pros Portal yet

  • Updated UI for the Sharing progress feature
  • Player's avatars are displaying on the Global map
  • The watermark about beta mod had been removed
  • Added the Invite friend button to the Party manager
  • Chat wheel opening hint not displayed in single player
  • Added fading when opening and closing the Global map
  • The Global map works correctly after
  • The confirmation pop-up will appear when the player removes an item from the inventory in co-op mode
  • The "Back" button doesn't disappear from the "Find Game" screen when the player tries to find the lobby a second time
  • Fixed the crash when connecting clients in the lobby
  • The list of blocked players is saved after restarting the game
  • The Deploy button remains clickable after entering the minimap and returning to the HQ
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the D-pad from working
  • The co-op lobby code is always visible
  • Added the crossplay switch to the co-op session creation menu

  • Quest truck doesn't disappear from the map after re-entering the expedition
  • Fixed a bug where the item display in the trade area would disappear after multiple trades, causing the game to freeze after each subsequent trade activation
  • Inventory of the Warehouses modules are in sync between players
  • Fixed a number of crashes

[Public Beta Branch] Co-op update 3

We're updating the co-op mode on the Public Beta Branch with this third patch. Keep giving us feedback, it helps us!

[h3]New features:[/h3]
  • Shared progress feature is added to beta build. Now you can complete expeditions, contracts and tasks together with your friends, and this progress will be saved for everyone. All rewards are shared too!
  • Global Map UI: added the new screen that shows all the maps and transfers between them
  • Chat Wheel: the new radial menu allows co-op players to ask for help or show approval or disapproval
  • Waypoints: the co-op feature that displays the routes of other players on the Minimap








[h3]Trade:[/h3]
  • Added Trade rejection sound

[h3]UI:[/h3]
  • Removed the influence of inversion of the Y axis of the controller on the Radial menu
  • Lobby code is no longer case sensitive
  • Added the list of the co-op party in the HUD menu
  • The color of the truck icon on the Minimap matches the color of the truck in the co-op
  • The option to enable or disable cross-play can be found in the main menu. Furthermore, this feature is still accessible via the Settings menu

[h3]Known issues:[/h3]
  • Player’s avatars don't display on the Global map
  • The button to copy the lobby code does not work on the gamepads
  • The game will go into softlock if a guest loses their internet connection on the loading screen in the co-op lobby
  • When the player removes an item from Inventory during the Trade, an empty pop-up appears. It is possible to close it using regular controls
  • A quest truck disappears from the map after re-entering the expeditions
  • The guest can see buildings that were built in another session with other players

The co-op beta on the PBB has been updated, here is the list of fixes:

[h2]Gameplay:[/h2]

Trade:
Improved the Trade preparation UX:
  • Added spinner of waiting for Trade agreement
  • Trade is interrupted if trucks become far apart from each other
  • Checking if the player we are offering a Trade to is already trading with someone and showing the status in the pre-trade
  • Showing status ‘Trade refused’

The stage with the transfer of a quest item through the Trade window is counted the first time

[h2]UI:[/h2]
  • The watermark has been reduced
  • Added the Delete button to the Trade window. This button removes unnecessary item from the Inventory
  • Block with list of Recent/Blocked Players has become semi-transparent
  • The popup Kick player from party has been centered
  • Fixed UI bug related to the Warning modal window about creating a new save slot in co-op session

[h2]Localization:[/h2]
  • Added several localization fixes

[h2]Known issues[/h2]
  • Lobby code doesn't work when entered in capital letters
  • The game will go into softlock if a guest loses their internet connection on the loading screen in the co-op lobby

[h3]Trade:[/h3]
  • Fixed a bug where the Trade window would not open for the Host after exiting the HQ and returning to the expedition
  • Trade requests are now automatically canceled if the truck moved too far from trade request initiation point

[h3]Gameplay:[/h3]
  • The Guest's progress % is recalculated when the Host explores the area during the Scouting quest stages

[h3]UI:[/h3]
  • The pause menu window has been widened to fit the hints in the frame (the bug only affected gamepad mode)

Co-op is now available on the Beta Branch!

We are thrilled to announce that the long awaited co-op mode is now available on the public beta branch of Expeditions. Embark up to 4 players into off-road explorations! ⛺

The co-op mode includes the following features (more features will be added in the future as the development progresses):

[h3]New Game set-up tools:[/h3]
  • The host is able to set a parameter to allow / forbid / ask for confirmation before a trade is done between players

[h3]Available Features: [/h3]
  • DLCs are compatible: if host and guests have different DLCs, they are still able to play together.
  • DLC content owned by the host is available to guests as long as the host deploys them on the map (DLC trucks, DLC specialists, etc).
  • Mods are compatible and/or warn players if different mods may cause instability.
  • Gameplay is balanced around co-op. For instance, all airdrops on all maps have double-amount of loot.

[h3]Others:[/h3]
  • All players are able to see map exploration.
  • All players are able to complete objectives and make the quest progress.
  • All players are able to receive the rewards for completed expeditions and quests.
  • All players are able to interact with built base modules, but only host can build/sell modules.
  • All players are able to interact with each other through collision and using the winch.
  • All players are able to interact with treasures (amethyst rocks in the Kanab Creek region).
  • Players are allowed to travel to a different map in the same region without ending the multiplayer session. Two players in the same session are allowed to be on different maps.
  • Restoring progress after a reconnect is allowed: in cases of connection loss, the player can load back into the game session (within a 5 minutes period), bypassing the expedition preparations.
