[Public Beta Branch] Season 2 update 2

We just updated the Season 2 on the PBB! Here's the change list:

[h3]The most critical:[/h3]
● Fixed a number of crashes
● In a co-op session, when switching from a Cargo drone to a truck located on a different
map, the guest was accidentally returned to the main menu
● Fixed unstable game behaviour in a co-op session after a guest has selected a truck in
the garage
● Consumables are added to the roof and bumper after changing the categories in the
Exterior tab of the Customise menu

[h3]Replayability system fixes:[/h3]
● The honk will not return to the standard sound after returning to HQ
● In a co-op session, a selected honk will sound for all players instead of a standard honk

[h3]UGV CR-G0 fixes:[/h3]
● Synchronized the amount of cargo drone's inventory displayed on the map with the
actual amount
● In a co-op session, the Cargo drone’s inventory is visible to all players on the map.
● Removed the ability for the Cargo drones to recover to an outpost without building the
“Generator” module
● Removed the ability to occupy a Cargo drone deployed by another co-op player
● Added display of the consumable Portable Battery in the interface
● Fixed display of cargo transported in truck and wheeled drone
● Fixed display of information of installed addons when installing two kung modules
● Removed display of uninstalled module when slots are fully filled
● Removed the ability to interact with Portable Battery from the drone's inventory

[h3]UI:[/h3]
● Changed keyboard controls: press C instead of F to start trading
● In the Garage UI, added information about electricity to Consumables section and fixed
bugs related to the resource calculations
● The “Generator” module is displayed in the “Modules” section of the map
● The Generator’s icon is displayed on the terrain instead of the Airdrop’s
● Fixed display of electricity consumed by the module in the radial menu

[h3]Additional changes:[/h3]
● Fixed a number of localisation bugs
● Reduce the volume of honks in the Garage
● Added display of an actual main menu scene to all backgrounds of the HQ
● Improved lightning on the AFIM Hornet 622T, KHAN 317 Sentinel, Shiba 6/J Overlander, Step 72-49 Albatross

[h3]Known issues:[/h3]
● The inventory of two trucks is duplicated between each other after deploy on a map
● Some tips for using the 'Generator' module work incorrectly
● Some bonus rewards, if previously completed, will always count as completed when
replayed, even if the conditions are not met
● The generator icon on the map is absent

What's next in 2025?

[h3]2024 is coming to an end, and we’ve got big news coming up in 2025![/h3]

First, Season 2: White Dawn will arrive on February 27! But if you want to try it early, play on the Public Beta Branch. Click here to read the tutorial on how to access it.

This season will bring new content to the game, such as: the long-awaited SNOW! ❄️

Even though the next map will mainly be set in the Spring (and the one after will fully be set in the winter 😉), you will see snow in the Carpathians (2x2km), in the East Beskids! You will also be introduced to a new medium-size cave. ⛏️💎

In addition to these, new trucks will be added too:
  • The Decin S-3T
  • The Traun BR-0D
  • The Mercedes Unimog 2450

As for the free content, you'll get a new piece of equipment: the cargo drone, electricity will become a manageable resource, and a replayability system will be introduced (such as customized nameplates, horn and new stickers). There’s much more to come in future seasons so stay tuned!

[Public Beta Branch] Season 2 update 1

We just updated the Season 2 on the PBB! Here's the change list:

The most critical:
  • Major changes to the Generator module that includes UI and game mechanics fixes
  • Fixed a number of crashes
  • Fixed duplication of heavy inventory in player's second truck when using two trucks for a deploy
  • Re-balanced the radius of the Radar add-on when used in caves to allow for wider map scouting


Replayability system fixes:
  • Added the warning text that when passing in co-op session, the bonus rewards are only counted if they are completed by the host
  • The ‘Expedition Completion’ bonus reward could be given whether or not the player has already received it


UGV CR-G0 fixes:
  • After re-calling, the cargo drone will retain its pre-evacuation state instead of creating the new entity each time
  • Adding paid inventory to a cargo drone uses credits like other vehicles
  • Removed the signal zone for a cargo drone that was duplicated on all maps in the region
  • The amount of portable batteries are displayed in the HUD panel correctly
  • Cargo battery charge is displayed with hundredths accuracy
  • ‘Inside’ and ‘Outside’ statuses for a Cargo drone in the radial menu works correctly


UI:
  • Added significant number of fixes for localisation
  • Redesigned the display of a taken truck’s card in the HQ
  • Fixed the inability to buy a truck after selling all trucks when using a gamepad
  • Improved the layout of the ‘Truck selection’ screen in the HQ


Additional changes:
  • Added new sound effects: for converting fuel to electricity, for gates on the new map, for the ‘Signal amplifier’ item, for UGV CR-G0 transportation modules
  • Music was added to the main menu
  • Added saving of open gate state after re-entering a map
  • Removed artificial blue spots from the snow on a car track
  • Fixed snow cover on Loadstar 1700 add-ons
  • Added tree textures to the maps of the Carpathian region


Known issues:
  • Unable to trade the ‘Battery’ and ‘Electricity’ resourced between trucks and drones
  • In the Trade, the 'Battery' resource doesn't display as a consumable
  • The inventory of two trucks is duplicated between each other after deploy on a map
  • The ‘Generator’ module doesn’t display in the corresponding section on the map
  • Some tips for using the 'Generator' module work incorrectly
  • Some bonus rewards, if previously completed, will always count as completed when replayed, even if the conditions are not met
  • Some gems cannot be extracted by a UGV CR-G0


Season 2 Features: Snowy Mountains

[h2]Hello Runners! 🚚[/h2]

In today’s blog, we’ll talk about the upcoming map that will be featured in Season 2! This new region is based on the Beskids, a series of mountain ranges in the Carpathians, in Eastern Europe. 🏔️

For the first time in Expeditions, you’ll drive in the snow to conduct the research in these mountains. Snow is different from the mud and rocks you’ve encountered so far in Arizona and in the Carpathians. You don’t want to tank your vehicle in deep snow, so FWD trucks will have an edge here!

Your missions in this new area will include analyzing the wildlife, protecting the zone against poachers and conducting expeditions in the Beskidian Caves!

[h3]One of the map key points is an Observatory that overlooks the valley. 🔭[/h3]


This region often sees meteorites crashes (hence the observatory), and as you can expect, you’ll have to investigate a meteorite fall. Who knows what you could find? (aliens? nah that would be ridiculous 👽)

[h3]Did you know?[/h3]
Tens of thousands of meteorites enter our planet's atmosphere each day, but most are the size of a grain of rice or smaller. Some of them preserve material from the birth of the Solar System 4.6 billion years ago, so their study helps scientists to better understand the creation of our Universe.

Setting up the region in the cold Carpathians also justifies the research of meteorites: the cold temperatures helps protect meteorites from the effects of weathering for thousands of years.

This new map is not only an outdoor adventure, caves are back for more underground exploration! We’ll go into further detail about these caves in a later blog.

We just updated the Public Beta Branch with the Season 2 content! Year Pass owners will have the opportunity to test it in advance the new map, “White Dawn”, as well as the 2 new trucks and the 2 specialists this season brings!



On top of that, the free content brought with this season will be accessible to everyone to test. It includes the Replayability System, the addition of Electricity as a new power resource, the cargo drone, a new base module and a new gadget.

New map
  • Explore a surface map, East Beskit: 4 km² of challenging snowy mountain landscape
  • Discover a frozen underground caves with new mysterious mechanics from ancient civilization
  • Complete 15 new Expeditions, 10 new tasks, and 14 new contracts to unlock new trucks, specialists and various upgrades


New trucks
  • The Decin S-3T – a powerful off-road truck with a big 150L fuel tank
  • The Traun BR-0D – a handy scout truck with lots of storage and a 125L fuel tank


Specialists
  • Benjamin Anchor – A hydrologist whose specialty is navigating in snow.
  • Park Won-shin – A new logistician with skills related to the all new Cargo Drone
Known issues:
  • The new logistician's increased radius is not visually shown, but the mechanic is working
  • The secondary ability "increased reconnaissance radius for ground drone" is not working


New gameplay features
  • Replayability System: give another go at previously completed expeditions, and try meeting specific conditions to unlock with exclusives rewards, including new horn sounds and player profile frames
  • Cargo Drone: An all-new agile wheeled drone that can be carried in a dedicated truck add-on. This Cargo Drone offers many useful features packed into a pint-sized wheeled drone : fetch or deliver items thanks to its own inventory and navigate through rough terrain with the help of its small but strong winch. Manage its battery power and coverage to access remote, inaccessible places
  • Metal Detector Rework: discover this new way to use the metal detector and find useful items
Known issues:
  • Replayability System: some rewards may contain technical text
  • Metal Detector Rework:
  • Icons spawn when the metal detector is turned on which may be confusing, as now players can drive with the metal detector on
  • The icon spawn still uses the old versions of the icons
  • Cargo Drone:
  • Damaged parts may not be displayed correctly
  • Issues when trying to trade with the drone if it has been deployed multiple times
  • Generator Base Module: Contains major trading bugs
  • Signal Amplifier: Minor icon bug on the map
