Be My Horde in 2025 - what are our plans? | How Are We Doing? Part 6

Moriana sends her dark regards and wishes you (and herself) a year brimming with wicked triumphs! May her hordes grow ever larger, and her followers fall deeper in love with her—even if, ultimately, they don’t have much of a choice.

So, what’s happening here at Polished Games? After a much-needed break, we’ve returned with our heads buzzing with ideas and our hands ready to bring them to life. We’ve dived straight into brainstorming, discussions, and planning sessions to shape what 2025 will look like for Be My Horde.

We’ll admit—we’ve been a bit reserved when it comes to sharing development updates. For example, we’ve never released an official roadmap (gasp!), and at this stage we probably won’t. BUT we’re committed to being more transparent in the months ahead. Be My Horde began as a small, humble project, but thanks to the incredible response to our demo (launched almost a year ago!), we’ve significantly expanded its scope. After the Early Access launch and receiving even more great feedback, we expanded it once more! In other words, you may say we were improvising quite a bit last year!

Now, as we move into 2025, our plans are finally crystallizing. While there are still some unknowns regarding specific dates and final content details, one thing is clear: we have a plan, and it’s an exciting one! To show our commitment to transparency, here are some FACTS we’re ready to share with you right now:

[h3]FULL VERSION - WHEN?[/h3]

The full version of Be My Horde will launch later this year. We don’t want to linger in Early Access for long (the project remains intentionally compact), so we aim to release the 1.0 version in 2025.

[h3]HOW MANY LEVELS?[/h3]

The final game will feature three levels, each boasting unique environments, enemies, mechanics, and, naturally, epic bosses.

[h3]NEW LEVEL - WHEN?[/h3]

The first level, “Kingdom” (starring Richard III Ovine), is already available. The second level is set to launch in a few months. Development on this next chapter of Moriana’s journey is extensive, so expect fewer major updates in the immediate future as we focus on making this addition truly special and huge.

[h3]MORE DETAILS?[/h3]

More behind-the-scenes content is on the way. We’re lifting the curtain on our development process with more work-in-progress reveals and fewer secrets. You can look forward to regular updates here, on our social media platforms, and especially on our official Discord server. If you’re eager for real-time updates on new content, changes, or improvements, be sure to join us there!

[h3]FINAL LEVEL - WHEN?[/h3]

The third and final level will arrive alongside the game’s full release in the second half of the year.

[h3]WHAT ELSE?[/h3]

We’re focusing on replayability. Beyond creating new levels, we’re dedicating time to introducing additional abilities and features to enhance the game’s longevity. This is a survivor game, after all, so we’re aiming to deliver a variety of options and achievements.

[h3]MORE STORY?[/h3]

The story of Be My Horde will expand, but don’t expect a sprawling RPG. While we’re committed to crafting an engaging lore, compelling characters, and a solid script, our focus remains on delivering a straightforward and enjoyable experience. You can look forward to more dialogue with Moriana’s foes, a few unexpected twists along the way, and more actors joining the cast.

[h3]MORE SKINS?[/h3]

Yes, there will be more skins for Moriana. ;)

In the coming weeks, we’ll begin unveiling details about the second level, which is set to launch in several months. Starting in February, expect regular teases of new enemies and mechanics. But why wait?... Please, say “hello” to ██████, the next boss Moriana will face on her path. Who is he? What’s his backstory? You’ll have to stay tuned to find out!

Hotfix Patch: 0.8.4

Achievements balance changes:
💀 Tomb Raider: Resurrect (800->300) tombstones during one game;
💀 Toxic Relationship Make (300->60) opponents poisoned at the same time;
💀 Souls Spa: Heal (1000->300) Moriana damage in one playthrough.

💀 Graveyard Supremacy has been fixed, and there should no longer be an issue where gravestones did not count as urns, and urns did not count as gravestones when completing achievements.

💀 Changed the order in which achievements are displayed.

💀 Fixed a few typos in Polish localization.

WHAT A YEAR IT’S BEEN! As 2025 slowly creeps closer, we’ve decided to take a step back, reflect on the whirlwind behind us, and, of course… give away some gifts! Let’s dive in!

[h2]GHOST OF HORDE PAST[/h2]

When we first announced Be My Horde back in February, we had no idea where the journey would lead us. What started as a small, experimental project designed to help us learn a few things quickly grew into something far bigger than we anticipated. We thought, “Maybe someone will notice it, maybe no one will.” But the overwhelmingly positive reception flipped everything upside down. Thanks to your enthusiasm, we chose to dedicate far more time and energy to the game’s development than we originally planned (you can clearly see it by the Early Access launch date we shared in that announcement... ah, we were so naive). And what followed was nothing short of incredible:

Presenting the game at PAX East in Boston. Featuring the Be My Horde trailer at the OTK Games Expo. Showcasing the game at gamescom in Cologne (yes, THE gamescom!). Hosting a big, vibrant stand at PGA in Poznań. Amidst all the updates, contests, bug fixes, and moments of stress, there was also so much joy. Somehow, it feels like we announced the game just yesterday—and yet, at the same time, like it’s been 100 years.

And this is still just the beginning!



Thank you for sticking with us on this adventure. Your support has been the driving force behind this project’s growth. We couldn’t have dreamed of a better community—one so eager to share feedback, give us encouragement, and simply let us know how you’re doing. You’ve made this entire journey far more enjoyable.

We know we can’t thank you enough, but we do have a few gifts for you!

Hallo! Bonjour! As we’ve mentioned in previous announcements, one of our goals is to implement as many languages as possible into Be My Horde. While the process is gradual, we’re making steady progress every month. Until now, the game has only been available in English and Polish. But today, we’re thrilled to announce the addition of TWO new languages: German and French!

You can change the language in the options menu. We hope this update makes the game even more enjoyable for our players in Germany and France!



Our second gift is for everyone: TWO NEW OUTFITS FOR MORIANA! You’ll find these in Moriana’s delightfully eccentric wardrobe.

One outfit is immediately available for you for free during the festive season, but be sure to launch the game quickly and grab it! After January 19th, it'll start costing some souls! (don't worry, not your own, but you get it)
The second outfit needs to be unlocked by defeating King Richard III Ovine.

But don’t worry—if you’ve already taken down the bearded ruler, you won’t need to do it again (unless you want to!).



Beyond the game itself, we’re also working on some cool extras. One we’re excited to share now is an interview with Ryan Cooper, the talented voice actor behind King Richard. Ryan is one of the most genuine and charismatic people we’ve had the pleasure of working with and chatting with him was an absolute joy.

[h2]GHOST OF HORDE FUTURE[/h2]

The gifts have been handed out. The update is live. So… what’s next?

For us, the next couple of weeks will be a time to rest and reflect. We’ll slow down, take stock of everything, and think deeply about what’s next. Of course, we already have plans for future updates. We know where we want to take you, who we want you to meet, and what adventures await you and Moriana. But now, it’s time to work out the details.

We know some of you have been asking for more transparency about what we’re working on. We apologize if we haven’t always been as open as we could be. It’s not because we’re hiding anything—sometimes even we didn’t know what was coming next! Planning is something we’re still learning, but we’re getting better at it.

The internal roadmap we created a few days ago feels solid, and we’re excited to bring you behind the scenes more often starting in January 2025. We promise: no more secrets… well, maybe a few. Surprises are fun, after all! But overall, we’ll be sharing much more about where Be My Horde is heading in the months to come. Stay tuned!

How To Make the Boss Fight... MAKE SENSE? | Devlog #6

As we count down to the Holidays—and, of course, the Steam Winter Sale—we have a little treat for you. We’ve prepared another video devlog where we take a deep dive into the process of creating the man, the myth, the legend: Richard III Ovine himself!

In this video, we answer plenty of questions, including what, how, and especially… why? Designing the first boss for Be My Horde wasn’t an easy task. We faced numerous challenges, but in the end, we’re thrilled with how he turned out! That’s because we didn’t add this boss just for the sake of it; he also helped us address several gameplay challenges. Want to know more? Check out the video below and enjoy!

💀 New Moriana portrait added;
💀 Fixed the holes in the starting location;
💀 Fixed the poison VFX while Richard is in the air;
💀 Fixed the shine effect on active tabs in the menu;
💀 Exploding Mark VFX is now in the correct position on every unit;
💀 Added bigger boss resistance to sheep explosions;
💀 The mark caused by the Sanctified with Dynamite perk does not stack anymore;
💀 Improved UX of the Hard Mode selection;

The Dominion fixes and improvements:
💀 Building process is not stopped by entering a menu from now;
💀 Fixed collisions on several buildings;
💀 Fixed the "jumping" tooltip while moving through the Dominion from a specific side.
