Alpha 2.1

Greetings Survivors! This update mostly fixes some bugs, and brings some performance improvements. It does also add a few quality of life features and some graphical enhancements.

Server Owners!: If you are running a save prior to Alpha 2, you may need to wipe your server as the save may not update accordingly with the new versions (for example, POIs might have missing pieces, etc).



Added:

  • Lumen Global Illumination options (60 and 30 FPS targetting)
  • Reset graphics to defaults button
  • Auto detect graphics button (based on PC specs)
  • Shading Quality options


Changed:

  • Removed some unnecessary texts on certain menus
  • Spawnrate for Bandit outpost POI (now every 1 hour and 30 minutes)


Bugfixes:

  • Fixed Stone Knife name and icon
  • Animals getting stuck (this is another iteration of this fix, and this problem is still being worked on)
  • Chat not always working
  • Hammer picking some items up, but converting them into crafting tables and other placeable items
  • Hotbar disappearing
  • Small trees had a very small hitbox, making it extremely hard to cut them down
  • Buildables not being able to be placed on some flat ground (this is another iteration of this fix, and is still being worked on)
  • Map icons not always showing for POIs (cave, trader, bandit outpost, etc).

Alpha 2

Greetings Survivors!

We wanted and promised to get this update to you, which adds some frequently requested features, and squashes some bugs that you all have reported! We're already hard at work on Alpha 3, and some new and exciting things, which we'll share more info about in the coming weeks - keep an eye out for more news!

Added:
  • Map (toggle using M)
  • Minimap (hide/unhide using F8)
  • New POIs (primitive bandit camp & graveyard)
  • Map lore... visibility of upcoming part of map... more to be announced later!
  • New thirst UI icon


Changes:
  • Toolbar moved from left side to bottom of screen
  • Make debug light (will be replaced with proper lights like helmets, etc later on) have a larger radius
  • Interact key is now by default E (this can of course be remapped)
  • Balanced and tweaked food & water stats, will now drain in a more balanced way
  • Raised the skylimit (you can now build even higher)
  • NPCs used to be easily defeated simply by backing up, they can now move slightly faster than players to avoid this. (We need your feedback on this!)


Bugfixes:
  • Pickaxes (Wood, Stone, Iron) are no longer able to be repaired without Workbench & resources
  • Removed persistent crosshair/dot from screen, crosshair/dot will now properly toggle with HUD
  • Wood tools used to do more damage than Stone tools, this is now fixed
  • Animals were getting stuck after 5-10 seconds when running away. (This is a work in progress and is still being worked on, so your feedback is needed!)
  • Dedicated Servers were crashing due to autosaves, this is now fixed
  • Chat and social related keys were not able to be remapped, this is now fixed
  • Campfires were crashing the game, this is now fixed
  • NPCs with Swords were flopping around non-stop after being killed, bouncing all over the map. This has been fixed

In other news, we will be adding Linux support to YJOS with Alpha 3 or Alpha 4.
Alpha 2 is coming along nicely. So far we have a map being worked on, with customizable waypoints, a dead body marker, and more. We also have some new POIs being worked on, which should definitely liven up gameplay. PVP will also be getting some improvements, which should make things more interesting, challenging, and fun for the PVP players out there!

Alpha 1.1

Alpha 1.1 is here! This update adds some new QoL features, and fixes some bugs.

Added:
-Player light (toggle using L)
-Compass (Toggle on using I, hold K to only show it when button is held)
-Remappable keybindings for Chat, Player light, and Compass

Fixed:
-Checkerboard texturing when changing graphics settings
-Tree collisions being abnormally big
-Tool equipping being confusing - you now have to put it in either Primary or Secondary slots on the left side panel to equip, and the Primary and Secondary slots are automatically binded to 1 and 2 on the hotbar
-Inventory being able to be regained if you log out and log back into a server right after dying
-Stone pickaxe not mining Copper or Silver ores (it should, but in low quantities)
