SD Loyal. Always Loyal. Always San Diego.
Earlier this year, Rocket League teamed up with San Diego Loyal Soccer Club as the front-of-kit sponsor for the team’s 2022 USL Championship season. Now, the collab continues with the in-game SD Loyal’s Always Loyal Bundle, featuring Decals based on the team’s IRL Rocket League jerseys.

Storm the Arena with SD Loyal from October 5 to 11!

With a custom design based on San Diego's diverse topography, the San Diego Loyal (Home) Decal comes in a brilliant Torrey Green in honor of San Diego’s indigenous Torrey pine trees. The San Diego Loyal (Away) version opts for a subtle tribute to the city's streets, perfect for anyone craving a clean white design. The San Diego Loyal (Special Edition) Decal takes it back to the classic Rocket League colors—orange and blue.

Inspired by San Diego’s Mexican/Mexican American roots, the design for the San Diego Loyal (Siempre Leal) Decal is inspired by traditional Talavera Mexican tiles. SD Loyal’s jersey designs come from Mexican sports apparel brand Charly Futbol, who snagged another spot in the Bundle with cleated Charly Wheels.

Streamers from all over the Americas will battle it out in three phases of competition, with the Finals taking place on October 13. Instead of a traditional prize pool, the winners will receive part of a $25,000 prize pool to donate toward a cause of their choice!

The Campeonato de las Américas tournament will be broadcast in English on the official Rocket League Twitch channel, and in Spanish on the Rocket Street Twitch Channel.
Event Schedule
Phase 1 begins with over 50 streamers competing in 2v2. This Phase will be Double Elimination, with the top eight teams passing on to Phase 2.

In Phase 2, eight new streamers will join the tournament as captains, drafting teammates from the 16 competitors remaining from Phase 1. Players will need to dust off their Extra Modes skills, as this phase features Modes such as Rumble, Heatseeker, Hoops, and more!

will have two groups of four teams competing in a 3v3 Round-Robin Format. The two highest-scoring teams from each group will move on to the finals. Points will be awarded as follows: 3 points for winning, 1 point for an overtime loss, and 0 points for a loss.

Finals will take place in a mixed Modes, best of five series. Chat will choose the Game Mode of the first match. When a team loses, they get a chance to stir things up by picking the Game Mode for the next match. Make it all the way to the end, and the crown is yours.

Rocket League Commonwealth Games star Jorhdys on esports diversity

Esports in the Commonwealth Games is something I never thought I'd see, but this year the global sporting event added Rocket League, Dota 2, and eFootball to its lineup of disciplines. Representing Team Scotland at the first ever Rocket League Commonwealth Games event, Twitch streamer 'Jorhdys' and her squad took home silver medals for their troubles, and were part of what might be a new chapter in esports history.

Despite never having competed professionally, the Scottish streamer for Tundra Esports walked away from the inaugural Commonwealth Games Rocket League championship in second place, beaten out by long-time rivals, Team England. Her journey has likely inspired countless young women across the globe (especially Scottish lassies like me) to consider competitive gaming careers - even if it's somewhat of an uphill battle.

Following the conclusion of one of mainstream sports' most prestigious events, Jorhdys sat down with us to discuss what it's like to finally see gaming recognised on the international stage, and how important inclusivity is in carving out a future for esports professionals.
