Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders Demo - Multiplayer Patch 2
Hey Riders,
another day - another patch. This one just went live 5 minutes ago and has mostly some smaller hotfixes.
 • Fixed that players are sometimes stuck at the starting line and can’t move
 • Fixed that the end of race timer didn’t vanish after the race sometimes
 • Fixed negative experience in the XP bar when reaching level 10
 • Fixed a bug that players were sometimes joining as spectators when they entered the lobby in the last second
 • Added version number to start menu

That’s it for today. We recommend downloading the updated version before playing multiplayer although both versions should still be compatible.

We also want to thank everyone who wishlisted the game and for all the nice reviews! It really helps us a lot with the visibility and it is super motivating to read all your kind words 💙 💙 💙

Have a great ride,
Your Megagons!

Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders Demo - Multiplayer Patch 1
Hey Riders,
We finally managed to set the new patch live. Thank you all for your patience! We are hopeful that future patches will go more smoothly.

You need to update the demo now to play multiplayer! (Sometimes you have to restart Steam for an update to actually work)

Patch Notes:
 • We implemented a new end-timer. So in case a player won’t finish the race or will take too long while everyone else has already crossed the finish line a timer will set in and end the race if the person doesn’t finish in time.
 • We shortened all waiting times (time until a tour starts, time between trails, time between tours).
 • Leaderboard Navigation will work with mouse controls again.
 • We fixed that sometimes network messages (like new host, host disconnected, etc) would stay on the screen until you restarted the game.
 • We improved the rubberbanding / weird movements that sometimes happen when you respawn at a checkpoint in multiplayer.
 • We fixed the problem where the timer showing when the next tour starts wasn’t always visible and also redesigned it.
 • We made the last jump on Trail 2 Hard Slope a little bit easier.
 • In the future, you will be informed in-game if you need to update your version for multiplayer.

Let us please know if you experience any issues with the new build.

As you might know, Steam now allows you to leave a review for a demo. If you like the game it would really mean the world to us if you leave us a positive review. The Next Fest is super crowded this time and it would help us a lot to get some more visibility for the game!

Thank you all and see you on the mountains,
Your Megagons

Patch Announcement
Hey Riders,
First, thank you all for your feedback! We are more than happy to see that you all enjoy the new multiplayer mode! We spent a lot of time on it over the last 4 years, so it’s great that we can finally play together with all of you!

But, who would have guessed, it turns out that making multiplayer games is hard and comes with its own set of problems. One of them is that we just can’t update the game without throwing everyone out of the multiplayer - as a new patch forces you to update the game.

As many people are playing now and we don’t have feedback for a new available update in the game we decided to postpone today’s patch to tomorrow.

So the patch will go live tomorrow around noon (MEST) and it will throw you out of the multiplayer if you’re playing at that moment. You can continue playing after you download the update.

Tomorrow's patch will include:
 • We fixed that sometimes the timer that shows you when the next tour is going to start wasn’t visible.
 • We made the last jump on Trail 2 Hard Slope a little bit easier.

We also want to take this moment and thank everyone who helped us test the demo before the Next Fest. And especially want to celebrate the crazy speedruns that people did with the over-the-top Lynx version. So here are the Top 10 on both slopes for the Pre-Demo. There will also be a little in-game memorial for them but more on that when the game will be released.

We wish you all a lot of fun on the Lonely Mountains! Please keep your feedback coming. It’s highly appreciated.

All the best,
Your Megagons

Full demo with multiplayer out now!
Hi Lonely Mountaineers,
A huge thanks to everyone who tried our teaser demo already! Your feedback is super helpful and it’s wild to see what times some of you managed to pull off already. 😀

Today, we launched the full demo with a huge update that adds the following:
2-8 online multiplayer (racing)
 • Added a whole new mountain track to explore (single and multiplayer)
 • Improved physics. We took your feedback to heart and tweaked the physics a little bit. Initial pushing is now stronger, less air resistance at low speeds but stronger resistance at higher speeds and landing sidewards is more forgiving now.
 • Due to the new balancing, we also cleared the leaderboards because previous records might not be achievable anymore.
 • Tons of fixes and improvements but most importantly:
 • - The infinite loading screen should be gone
 • - The crash some people experienced when starting the game should now also be fixed

You can download the demo on our demo Steam page right now!

This is the first time we are testing our online multiplayer, and we are super curios to hear if you like it! This time we are testing the racing mode for up to 8 people but the full version will also have a co-op mode. The team already had the best time testing the racing mode, as going on the slopes with a few friends adds a ton of fun and competitive chaos!

We are likely leaving the demo up for the whole duration of the Steam Fest (until the 21st October) but might remove it afterward again for a while to polish it up. So jump in while it lasts! 🙂

As always, if you enjoy Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders, please add it to your wishlist or follow our developer account as that helps us a lot to make the game more visible on Steam. We would also be super grateful if you leave a review for the demo.

All the best and have a great ride on the snowy Lonely Mountains!

Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders is a slick ski 'em up, if its demo is any indication

One of the most important lessons in skiing is, presumably, to look where you're going. You wouldn't want to ski with your eyes closed or while viewing yourself from a drone pointed back at the mountain from above. That'd be daft.

Or maybe not. Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders is the frosty followup to the mountain biking original, Lonely Mountains: Downhill, and like its predecessor it's about going fast while barely able to see what's coming. Yet also like its predecessor, initial frustrations melted away until I was eagerly hitting the slopes in the Snow Riders demo for just one more quick go.
