Multiplayer Beta has started

[h2]Hey Riders,[/h2][p]As we announced in the last update, we have reworked our multiplayer netcode over the last few months and need some help testing it today. [/p][p]Therefore at 12pm CEST today we have start a 24 hour beta test on Steam and would be super grateful if you could take some time and help us test the new code before we roll it out on all platforms. [/p][p]You do need to own the game on Steam to participate. [/p][p]Here is how to enter today's beta: [/p]
  • [p]On Seam select Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders in your Steam library.[/p]
  • [p]Make a right click and select properties.[/p]
  • [p]Select the Betas Entry from the list.[/p]
  • [p]In the drop down menu select public_beta.[/p]
[p]Your game will update now and afterwards you can start it normally to participate in the beta. If you don't see a beta branch in the branch selection you have to restart your Steam client first. Improved Multiplayer Steam Beta & Patch v1.2.204

[h2]Hello Riders,[/h2][p][/p][p]We have released version 1.2.204 today, which mainly improves the backup system for save files and a few other smaller bug fixes, as well as trail changes. You can have a look at the full change log below.  [/p][p]We also worked a lot on netcode improvements over the last few months and we would like to invite you all to a Beta Test on Monday the 22nd of September. The test will start at 12pm CEST on a Steam beta branch (Instructions how to join will follow on Monday) and will be live for 24 hours. The improved network code should greatly reduce lag and rollbacks but we would like to get more feedback from the community before we can put it live for everyone. This is also a rare chance to play against the Megagon team as most of us will participate in the test as well. [/p][p][/p][p]We would really appreciate it if you could take some time next week to join the test![/p][p][/p][p]All the best,[/p][p] Your Megagons[/p][p][/p]

  • [p]Critical: The game now saves multiple backup save files and creates a new one at the beginning of each day. [/p]
  • [p]Critical: If the main save file can’t be loaded players are now notified and can decide to try again or load the backup save file. If both fails players can choose to reset the game to a clean save or quit the game. Please let us know in our Discord or via [email protected] if your backup save game also doesn’t work. [/p]

  • [p]Major: Fixed a bug that players could return to a resting spot after crashing inside it. [/p]
  • [p]Minor: Fixed an edge case in which the Recover-UI wasn’t displayed correctly in team mode. [/p]
  • [p]Minor: Fixed bug that the free ride achievement was triggered too early. [/p]
  • [p]Minor: Fixed game stuck on loading screen when a 2nd monitor wasn’t turned on. [/p]
  • [p]Minor: Fixed wrong sound played at the start of trick mode. [/p]
  • [p]Major (Xbox Only): Fixed that the How To Play Screen for the team mode was missing on Xbox.  [/p]
  • [p]Minor (Xbox Only): Fixed a bug that the PC input settings were available on console.  [/p]

  • [p]Speedrunning Critical: Adjusted some ramps that were added in the Freestylers level updates that may interfere with optimal racing lines that existed previous to the update.[/p]
    • [p]Eisige Allee: Updated a stone in front of a ramp in section 2 of the black slope[/p]
    • [p]Weinender Wald: Adjusted two ramps in Section 2 (blue slope) that may make the optimal racing line harder[/p]
    • [p]Grimmiger Hang: Removed one ramp in Section 5 (blue slope) that obstructs the most optimal shortcut[/p]
    • [p]Donggu: Adjusted two ramps in Section 3 that blocked two different shortcut options[/p]

[p][/p][p]This is a quick one: We got reports of an exploit that allowed some clever players to get more points on certain maps. This is a fix to prevent this.[/p][p][/p][h2]Fixes[/h2]
  • [p]Critical: Only move trick mode points from unsaved to saved when hitting the next active checkpoint - not ANY checkpoint you cross.[/p]

Hotfix - v1.2.102

Hello Riders,
[p][/p][p]We finally found the bug that causes the blue slope time trials leaderboards to be flooded by seemingly random best times - and fixed it with today's patch.[/p][p][/p][p]With that done we were able to clean the leaderboards the following way:[/p]
  • [p]We rolled back Time Trials scores to a backup from last July 2nd to make sure everything's clean and fair again. This means new blue slope time trials records over the last week will be lost, black slope times will be restored next week.[/p]
  • [p]Trick mode and FreeRide scores are not affected.[/p]

  • [p]Critical: Zen mode does not submit leaderboard entries for time trials anymore ːsteamfacepalmː[/p]
