Lonely Mountain: Snow Riders was one of the best demos I played last year, because it felt so good to gracefully slide down its white-powdered mountains (and clumsily crash into a tree). It might have been one of the best games I played last year, who knows, but it was delayed into 2025. Now it's got a fixed release date again: January 21st.

It’s finally time to buckle your boots. Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders, our ‘ski-quel’ to Lonely Mountains: Downhill, is coming to Steam and Xbox on January 21st!

The game will feature 2-8 person crossplatform multiplayer with a competitive racing mode, as well as a cooperative team mode that’s perfect for hanging around with your friends on cold winter nights. Of course, it’s also fully playable in singleplayer, with lots of challenges and extensive leaderboards. If you’re just looking for some relaxed carving, the game also has a new ‘zen’ mode that lets you free-roam the mountains and place your own checkpoints.

If you want to do some ski gymnastics and hone your skills before release, the Singleplayer demo is still online. And of course we would be super grateful if you could wishlist the game so we can climb the upcoming list on Steam!

We are all eagerly looking forward to carving the mountains with you! However, although the game is almost ready, we need a little bit more time to prepare the slopes. That’s why we decided to shift the release date to January 2025. We can’t announce the exact date yet, but we will let you know as soon as we can.

we hope you're all doing well! It's great to see that you all still enjoy the demo so we wanted to give you fair warning that we will turn off the multiplayer for the Snow Riders Demo on Monday the 16th. So if you are still working on that Level 10 outfit, this weekend will be your last chance!

You can still play the Singleplayer and go for the leaderboard best-times but we have to do some server work before the release. More news on that will come on Monday as well!

It was great seeing you all play the demo over the last two weeks! We are tremendously grateful for all the positive feedback and your bug reports, ideas and suggestions! We have already put a lot of things on our list to improve for the full release.

As we still see lots of new players trying out the game we decided to keep the demo - multi- and singleplayer - online for a while longer to give fresh players the opportunity to also earn the unique Steam Next Fest outfit. Besides that, it’s also just fun watching all the demo streams and let’s plays.

We will inform you ahead of time when we feel it’s time to take the demo down again.
