Cities Skylines Content Creator Packs - Official Announcement

Hello Cities Mayors,

We are thrilled to announce that we have brand-new content for Cities: Skylines, developed by two amazing Content Creators, all implemented by our talented partners at Tantalus! This content has been in the works for some time as we know many of you still love building and expanding your cities in the original Cities: Skylines. Whether you’re a long-time fan or just discovering the game, these new additions help expand the range of your cities, with a Mountain Village Pack and Map Pack 3 with new maps that focus on mountain peaks and alpine terrain. Plus, for those who love the sounds of trees whispering in the wind, the Radio Station Alpine Tunes can accompany you on your next trip to the mountaintop.

These new additions to Cities: Skylines will release to you tomorrow, Thursday, October 24th.

We also want to reassure those of you that play Cities: Skylines II, that the development of this new content for Cities: Skylines is an entirely separate effort. The content you’ll find in this release for Cities: Skylines has been implemented by Tantalus, the studio who managed the console ports for Cities: Skylines. No resources were diverted from Cities: Skylines II for this - our friends at Colossal Order remain fully focused on developing and improving Cities: Skylines II. This approach allows us to release some updates without compromising on either game.

So, for those excited for news around Cities: Skylines II — if you missed the earlier entry about the roadmap for the first region packs, we are almost done with the implementation of the first pack and it will be out next week!
Join us on our trip around the world here on https://www.paradoxinteractive.com/games/cities-skylines-ii/modding/cities-skylines-ii-region-packs - and look forward to great experiences for many years to come with Cities: Skylines II.

Thank you for being such a vital part of this journey, whether you’re playing Cities: Skylines, Cities: Skylines II, or both! We look forward to seeing what incredible new mountain villages you bring to life with this release!

Paradox "saw flaws" in Cities Skylines 2 before launch, chief executive says

The one-year anniversary of Cities Skylines 2 is just around the corner on Thursday October 24, and - while there have certainly been improvements - the Colossal Order city builder is still struggling to win over fans. Despite strong foundations and some notable updates, we've yet to see a return to the best-in-class form established by its predecessor. Speaking with CS2 publisher Paradox Interactive's deputy CEO Mattias Lilja and chief creative officer Henrik Fåhraeus, I ask what went wrong, and if they're worried about competition.

Cities Skylines player makes billionaire's island, drops meteor on it

Cities Skylines lets you make more or less anything you might imagine, from sprawling commercial districts to towering skyscrapers and idyllic suburban neighborhoods. But as we await the arrival of the Cities Skylines 2 release date, and the next generation of Paradox and Colossal Order's terrific city-building game, one player has made an emphatic statement by building an ultra-rich, ultra-private billionaire island and then destroying it with a meteor. This is Cities Skylines as social commentary.
