[h2]Physics Improvements:[/h2]
We worked on making the controller just feel better. This update improves the physics, which should be snappier, more control in the air as well as improve poor collisions. We are actively improving this and would love for you to try this for a few days *before* providing feedback as new things take a while to adjust. Changing physics is a tough thing, as it can affect maps differently, but if there is a time to make the controller feel amazing for you, it is now.

[h2]Custom Game Options:[/h2]
We heard you! We haven’t had time to put in a lot of options in yet, but we provided options to item pools in the custom game mode. We will actively work with the community in our Discord on custom item set ups. This allows us to build more insane modes with items that would otherwise never get to see the light of day, but also perhaps fine tuning a more tournament style item set up.

[h2]Homing Missile Adjustments and Items:[/h2]
Homing missiles now have a stronger initial open speed. This does *two* things that change the item significantly:
1. It causes the homing missile to be more levelled with the ground, meaning more counter play is possible.
2. The target *must be relatively in sight*, if you fire up into the air and hope it hits, the % chance of landing is significantly reduced.

[h2]Hero Changes:[/h2]
1. Zim top speed reduced by 15% (in both forms)
2. Chibben trick jump bonus (passive) reduced by 20%
3. Peanut top speed slight reduction 2%, Drift power increased 2%
4. CL max speed improved by 5%
5. Fooo improved steer 30%. Improved drift bosting 2%. Bamboozle now has a 1 second longer duration on successful hit. Partner boost now last 1 additional second
6. Cobie slight improved steer 10%
7. Spongebob increased drift boost power 5%
8. Chimp Based max speed increased 10%
9. Capy increased bonus from max coins 5%
10. Loma improved top speed by 10%
11. Gaz drift boost power 5% increased and top speed increased 2%
12. Gir max speed increased 5% in first form (first ultimate state)
13. Dib steer 4% improved. Slipstream improved 2%
14. Coin heroes now no longer start with 2 coins. Coin max speed is increased
15. Slight increase in top speed for Squidward/Flamingo. Sigma?
16. Nomad drift power
17. Bulma 1.25% improved drift power.
18. Ohbobot 0.5% improved drift power.

[h2]General Bugs/Fixes:[/h2]
1. Fix typos on quests
2. Recipes updated (added more)
3. Collisions on stages such as Candy, Ghost and Cyber
4. Visual boostpads etc
5. Flow improvement on Nordic with small ramps

[h2]New UI Flow[/h2]
We heard you, and we want to refine our UI/UX flows. The new set up may need some time getting used to but we wanted to reduce the amount of clutter in each play mode. This also allowed us to introduce new offline modes as well!

[h2]Offline Split Screen / Local player[/h2]
A feature that was requested was being able to play offline and giving local split screen options. We added that functionality, so now you can play with your friends, partners or even practice offline whenever you feel like it!

[h2]Race Royale Cups[/h2]
A new mode is added where you can truly test yourself in unique Race Royale Cups. These will start easy but get harder over time. Be warned, the last cups are very difficult, but each cup offers very special rewards for those who complete it. For those who want even more challenge, try setting the best time as well!

[h2]Race Royale Changes[/h2]
The Race Royale mode was simply too unforgiving for new players (plus veterans were entering the normal Race Royales to complete quests), ultimately making a not so pleasant experience for new racers. This needed to be changed, so we made Race Royale a level 20+ only mode (Race Royale Pro) but to balance out daily quests that require specific characters - you no longer need to win, but just get to the last round of the Race Royale.

We have also removed specific maps from the Race Royale PRO and GP PRO modes. Maps in the PRO modes should be a form of skill expression and not be heavily reliant on RNG/Luck. Examples of these maps including Parking Lot and Stadium.

[h2]Map Changes[/h2]
Many maps were frustrating to navigate for newer players, so ramps were added to prevent players going backwards. This also improved skill expression and flow of these maps. These maps included Mars, Test of Ice, Test of Strength and Vault.

Another common request was reducing the brightness/lens flare of certain maps. We felt the game was simply too bright, so there have been adjustments on every map to be less glaring but also fit the overall tone of the map's theme.

Water Park has also been set to 2 laps now.

[h2]Item Changes[/h2]
Bonk + OhBobomb - Watching streamers and players get annoyed at these items meant we needed to do a much more influential change. Both items are now on a cooldown depending on player distribution in the race, as well as the time of use, meaning the time it is possible to get the item after use is very large and on smaller maps basically at 0. Furthermore, the OhBobomb in Race Royales are distributed differently, making it impossible for the last round players to pick up an additional OhBobomb.

Rocket Daze has also been slightly decreased.

[h2]Hero Tweaks[/h2]
Cobie: New Team Ultimate - Golden Bull Item Drop. Giving all team members a golden bull!
Capy: New Team Ultimate - Team Capytan. Booster pads improved for all team members
Degen/Krabs/Huntress: Slight improvement in steer and top speed in max coins
Peanut/Chibben: Ultimate cost has slightly increased
Squidward/Flamingo: Drift speed slightly improved
Dib/Stardust: Improved slipstream

[h2]Game Score Update[/h2]
There are likely more changes that will happen for Game Score (especially those who are in far more competitive group leaderboards). For now, we have added a few more boxes to the current Games Scores. We have not changed BP distribution here.

[h2]General Bug Fixes[/h2]
- Colliders in general are fixed
- Rocket explosion/collisions improved
- Respawns of many maps were fixed
- RNG on maps in custom games fixed
- Drift Sounds breaking fixed
- Challenge maps are now compiled into 3, instead of 6 (they haven't vanished, they are just all in the old maps to prevent clutter)
- Fixed some recipes not showing
- Fixed some items not showing craftable/sellable
- Removed R3 shortcut on controllers to prevent camera switching randomly
- Fixed visuals for some karts not showing and other items with wrong icons

[h3]New Menu / UI Changes[/h3]



We want to do a more organized approach to UI. We felt there was too much on the home page when you first opened the game. This was very overwhelming to a lot of our new players. We are changing the flow and separating modes out.

[h3]Local Split Screen / Offline Play[/h3]



A mode that was heavily requested was split screen for couch/local play. We are enabling this mode with a clearer flow for you to play with friends and family locally. All the items you unlock are there for you and your friends to enjoy.

We are also providing certain modes offline, allowing you to enjoy OBK wherever you are!

[h3]Race Royale Cups[/h3]



Race Royale cups are a unique mode to OBK. These will start off easy and get much... much harder, they are a new take on the typical Grand Prix. There will be unique rewards from the Race Royale Cups. Can you survive 4 Race Royales in a row?

We also wanted to take the time to update the meta changes post patch. Although the Shogun Season patch was last week, we wanted to give insight to the changes to the current meta as well as a little update to the game economy.

New maps have been added to the map pool! Shogun and Curse of Shadows

Here is the full changes in a briefer form (as its fairly extensive)

  • SHOGUN: New ultimates - Demonic Strike, Double slice, Team Shogun Dash
  • HUNTRESS: New ultimates - Reload Rocket, Ricochet Rocket, Team Coins
  • FOO: Both ultimates have been improved by bonus speeds and slight cost reduction.
  • PEANUT: New ultimate - Duo Torrent Speed. Steer improved and slight cost reduction on ultimates.
  • FILIAN/CHOP: Chain and Daze now does not daze you if you successfully chain the combo twice, i.e. the third boost does not daze you. New ultimate - Team Chain Daze. Slight improvement in steer.
  • JEZ: Slight reduction in Ice Vortex cost, new ultimate - Team Ice Vacuum. Increase power from speed items.
  • PATRICK/MARU: Ultimate will not work when shielded, and when ultimate is active, daze time is doubled.
  • ZIM/CYBERDOGE: Daze modifiers depending on state of ultimate (green vs. blue state).
  • CL: Base speed increased. Slip stream bonus increased. Shuriken speed throw improved.
  • ZACH: Improved bonus on speed items. Slip stream bonus increased. New team ultimate: When the ultimate ends if you are near a team mate, your team mates ultimate gets fully charged with a speed boost.
  • SQUIDWARD/FLAMINGO: Clarinet ultimate last one additional bonus second. Slight increase in base speed.
  • NOMAD: Max coin now set to 10. Improved base steer. Slip stream bonus increased.
  • LOMA: Slight increase in base speed. Shield ultimate is now a team shield, with a short duration but also increased drift power during the shield.
  • KRABS/TOMATOMAS: Slight improvement in steer. Coins have a small improvement in the initial boost.
  • MEMBRANE/CACTIFF: Slight improved base speed.
  • DIB/STARDUST: Slight increase in bonus speed from max coins.
  • CAPY: Slight increase in base speed. Elcapytan ultimate has even more power from boostpads.
  • CHIBBEN: Trick jump bonus increase. Slightly improved drift boost. Team wingman has been improved with greater bonus for team mates and yourself. Wing ultimate also improved by the daze timer goes up during the ultimate.
  • OHBIBI: Steering improved
  • OHBOBOT: Slight increase in acceleration and drift boost.
  • COBIE: Slight increase in drift boost.
  • DEGEN: New ultimate - Team Coin Rocket.
  • GAZ/LABEE: Extra bonus on speed items.
  • SHIBA: New ultimate: Team Dark Shiba rocket (loses the Hoop ultimate). Dark Shiba ultimate has less daze time.


[h3]4. New Shogun Lootbox[/h3]

New Shogun lootbox is available. Shogun lootboxes are available on your weeklies, group leaderboards, tournaments, streams and we do plan to give some to certain level brackets in future as one off. Shogun lootboxes will only be available during the Shogun Season. We will announce when the season is about to end with a week notice.

[h3]5. Recipe & Crafting[/h3]

Recipes are in! There are 69 recipes available and will allow you to craft unique items if you have the ingredients. Furthermore, the lootboxes from the crafting system have an improved item pool which is more unique and favourable for rarer items. Can you craft them all?



[h3]6. New items in item boxes, as well as new item pool for every stage. [/h3]

A big change has occurred to the item pool. Items are now based on distance from the pack, the map itself and the first place position player. Furthermore, new items have been added to the item pool to change the flow of game play. We felt that items should not feel too RNG but support the player in their current position.

Specific items have also been changed:
  • ICE ROCKET: Freeze time has been reduced. No longer causes coin lost.
  • TRIPLE HOMING ROCKETS: Removed from game.
  • WASSIE BOMB: Explosion only makes a player lose 1 coin, instead of 3.
  • BONK: Daze time has been reduced slightly. Rarity has been reduced.
  • FRIES: Throwing forward has been disabled for now.
  • NEW ITEMS: Ram, Hammer, Coins

[h3]7. New Group Leaderboard rewards[/h3]

Group leaderboard rewards have temporarily increased due to the new Shogun lootbox. Rewards have also been increased across the board.

[h3]8. New Time Trial Red Times are set (Golds etc. remain the same)[/h3]

We have decided to keep the gold medal times as they are, meaning if you already had a gold medal for a map, you still have it. Red times however been reduced and made more difficult to soon reflect the top % of players.

[h3]9. New Map fixes, alterations to existing maps to improve flow.[/h3]

  • SPACE STATION: Reworked the split section. The overall pathing meant only one option was really viable, we have changed this to accommodate a better flow.
  • PARKING LOT: Map overall improved in loading times and collisions.
  • SKYDRAGONS: Respawn points of out of bounds no longer take you wrong way.
  • VOLCANO: Loading times improved.
  • WESTERN: Short cut will now raise up instead of side ways.
  • PRISON BREAK: Ending jump now provides an on rail to prevent players flying over the start line.
  • CASTLE: Castle short cut now goes up instead of rotation.
  • LUNAR NEW YEAR: Fixed respawns. Hoop is placed at the beginning of the tower to prevent out of bound errors.
  • GHOST GRAVEYARD: Fixed random out of bound issue.


[h3]10. Significant online improvement optimisations with Rollback Netcode[/h3]

Stalling issues and server improvements have been improved with our rollback netcode. This should improve the overall online experience for all players.

[h3]11. XP Increase across GP/Duo Modes.[/h3]

XP increased for Shogun Season! New XP in Group Leaderboards as well.

[h3]12. General Bugs/Fixes[/h3]

NOTIFICATION: Improved visuals on receiving team boosts.
KART VISUALS: Improved and fixed some skins, karts and wheels displaying wrong icons or wrong models.
