Roots Devour Demo FAQ
[Roots Devour Discord Now Open]
Recently, we finally had some time to set up our Discord. What I mean is, everything is now on track and can be precisely measured.
[Player Q&A]
In the past year, we’ve completed a brand-new card design and the framework for most of the levels.
Honestly, the first day of work was filled with hope and excitement—it was even livelier than the New Year! During the Spring Festival holiday, we didn’t rest either. We went through every piece of player feedback we could find and carefully recorded everyone’s suggestions! At the same time, we discussions about frequently raised issues, all aimed at bringing a better experience to you.

For the most frequent feedback, here are our answers:
-About the Frame Rate
The current demo version has technical limitations. As the card count increases later in the game, it may consume a significant amount of GPU memory. We’re actively working on resolving this and will implement a comprehensive optimization in the full version!
-About Brightness
We’ve noticed that some players find the game’s visuals a bit too bright. To provide a more comfortable visual experience, we’ve decided to include a gamma adjustment feature in the full version, allowing players to adjust the brightness according to their preferences and screen settings.
-About Camera Control
Thanks for the feedback! We’re working on optimizing camera settings and minimap operations to make controls smoother and exploration easier!
-About Localization
We’ve noticed some translation issues in the English version and sincerely apologize for that! We plan to fix those errors in the full version to provide a more accurate and fluid experience. Thank you for your understanding and support!
-Chapter Content
The story of Chapter 1 takes place on the edge of human territory. In Chapter 2, set in a swampy map, players will face off with human conflicts and, for the first time, reveal your identity as a ruler, secretly influencing the course of the world. The forest is just the beginning—the world will gradually unfold in the future story.

Lastly, a big thanks to you all! And happy new year!

Roots Devour's demo harbours the seeds of a brilliant horror card RPG

I had trouble sleeping last night, due to a combination of press trip excitement, chugging too many complimentary coffees, and my hotel room being opposite a strange, insistently symmetrical building that reared over my dreams like Sauron’s penthouse. So to settle my nerves, I got up and played a game about being a horrible tree. Just the worst tree. A total shit of a tree. That game was Roots Devour - and great news, if you’re having trouble sleeping you can play it too, for there is a demo in the wilds.
