A wayward serpent hailing from far off lands, the Viper has come to the Hamlet, both in search of refuge, and for relief from her affliction. She serves as a fairly-frail damage dealer, capable of more stationary or mobile combat. Due to the nature of her visage, the Shieldbreaker remains deathly afraid of her, and will refuse to join her on expeditions. Regardless, she should remain invaluable in combat.

The Buried by Psyberry

A former crusader, she was taken in as a child and taught the ways of the Light by the pious clergy, never knowing that it was their crusades that left her orphaned to begin with. She was trained to fight alongside her newfound kin in the Light’s cause when she came of age, never knowing that something unseen twisted the motives of the church… something manipulated their faith and drew them in… to accomplish the unquestioning bloodshed It needed.
Never knowing… had never really been the problem. After briefly catching a glimpse, however... she will never be the same…

Overflowing with the magic of a dead people, the Upuaut has many facets. He is the embalmer, the psychopomp, but also the scout and the vanguard. He is found at the edges, between the fields and the desert, between life and death, and from those thresholds he gains power.

Hail, O you who opens up the way, who acts as guide to the roads to perfect souls in the House of Osiris, open you up for him the way, and act you as guide to the roads to the soul of the Osiris, the scribe, the registrar of all the offerings made to the gods, him whose word is true with you.

"Tired of its senseless and endless life, it came here to seek its own demise."

A figure hidden behind veils. He keeps his secret as protection against the superstitious common men. The Veiled is kept alive forever by powerful necromancy, but against his own will. His body might be fragile, but it is an indestructible vessel for his own soul. Over time he learned to control the same power which cursed him. Perhaps it can bring his end, but it also keeps others from their end. He came to the very end of the world to find his long-awaited death, which time or simple methods cannot give him.

Week 49 & 50: Mod Showcase

[h3]One can sometimes find clarity in madness, but only rarely...[/h3]

This weeks and last weeks mods:

The Janissary by Snorlaxxo, Shay, Cat, terkmc, 54NBB

The Janissary is a weathered soldier who made the long trek from the southeast to aid the Hamlet. He claims he was sent by his Sultan as an act of goodwill, but is there more to his story than he lets on to? However inscrutable, we know that we will not turn down help from someone who so readily masters and shares the art of war.

Janissary can help any party from either the back- or frontline. In either position, he can play his instrument to cure stress partywide, growing stronger the more he uses it. Put in the backline, his arquebus delivers devastating attacks to the enemy back rank. His braced gun will shred through enemy armor with great accuracy, and bombs will thin the herd by debuffing and damaging their middle ranks.

In the frontline, he is a supportive tank who can deliver partywide buffs. The buffs are enhanced on guarded allies, and he can guard many allies at once while delivering a sharp counterattack.

The Mutants by bradalermann

The Mutants are heroes from a different universe, pulled to the Hamlet through Eldritch means. It's unknown how it happened; however there are rumors the Occultist left a certain totem in the Reliquary and the Caretaker unknowingly activated it when praying.

The Mutants are formidable heroes, having mastered the skills of ninjas past. They are able to maneuver the battlefield, and turn the tide in their favor. They attack from the shadows, are adept in precise attacks, and occasionally break the tension with some boisterous celebration.

"Born of an unnatural incident, raised by a talking rat, and often nicknamed after famous painters, the Mutants delivered vigilante justice to the streets of a vast, bustling city. In their universe they fought gangs, aliens, and monsters, but their greatest foe was the "Shredder," an evil warrior who led a ninja gang called the Foot Clan. It's rumored these Foot Clan have followed the Mutants, but their whereabouts are unknown."

The Milkmaid by rehtael, MoonKanin, 54NBB, terkmc

"An unfortunately fortunate remnant of my celestial endeavors."

The unfortunately fortunate survivor of the comet. Having been on the edge of the farmstead, she was spared the full brunt of the comet's blast, but was not entirely unchanged. Her body is twisted, but her now-petrified heart stays true to the caretaking of others. Today, she is steadfast in her goal of helping our heroes now that she has no home or family to return to, and is desperate to escape the harsh memories she is sometimes trapped within.

The Babička by Uncanny Gemstar

"Too many young men go to die. I will handle this."

The Babička may be an old woman who has not seen war firsthand, but she has been hardened by a long life of loss and strife. She offers both a motherly supporting hand, and the scorn of a mother's wrath in the field. She will stand in the way of attacks, willing to endure pain herself to spare her younger allies, carries medicines and a gentle touch to soothe their pain, and can bark out battle strategies to keep the team in order thanks to her experience. On the other side, enemies are mowed down with gunfire, her outdated firearm packing both an impressive punch against armored foes and having decades of practice to hit dead on the mark. She can clear out enemies hiding in the dark with a flash of powder to suddenly reveal them, the shock of which may be quite potent. Or, if the foe be particularly unruly, she can physically reprimand them herself, delivering a smack that many a young soldier has been forced to endure.

This mod works on adding many hero barks to the game for all heroes in the game, in many scenarios. While it is a work in progress, there is a link in the mod description for anyone to submit ideas for lines of their own, allowing people to work together to work on the mod.

The Anointed by Retrograded, Falco, Shay, Kenthril

"Feathered, fanatical, but most of all faithful, the Anointed utilises powerful miracles and buffs to enliven and inspire his allies. However, he is not loathe to go on the offensive, striking with holy fervour and flinging zealous accusations."

The Anointed is a brand new class mod for Darkest Dungeon. A wildly fanatical bird man, he is religious hero who channels his devotion into respectable heals, damage, and debuffs, and has arrived at the Hamlet with the simple purpose of purging it of evil.

The Anointed comes with original artwork, sounds, and animations, and fully custom barks for reactions to the many things in and outside the dungeon!

"The space between worlds is no place for mortal men..."

The Stargazer is an all new class mod for Darkest Dungeon. He is a frail but powerful damage dealer, an astronomer who has been touched by an unfathomable astral force, granting him abilities that can only be described as magic. By tapping into this force, he opens himself to phenomenal cosmic power, which can possess him, body and soul, tearing away at his psyche. As a result, one is never fully in control of the Stargazer's actions, and if pushed too far, he may lose control. He has fully original assets, including sprites, animations, and sounds.

"Imbued with cosmic forces beyond his comprehension, the Stargazer bends space and time to his will, flinging his enemies across the battlefield with volatile energy some would call magic. His true strength is beyond his understanding, however, and he is never fully in control of his own actions."

Dragon’s Duelist by dragon, 54NBB, Dismas

“Inadequacy gives birth to aspiration- and desperate longing.”

The Duelist is a high dodge low hp frontliner. She specializes in movement skills, debuffs, and consistent damage- and has riposte and guard to back her up. She is weak to dots and her resistances are fairly low- especially her deathblow resist.
Keep her hp high or you could lose her in an instant!
