🚗 Hey Awesome Drivers!

It’s time for the next Weekly Update! As always, in a few points, we’re presenting to you what we've been working on this week in Used Cars Simulator 😀 Just a reminder – we’re showing what we're working on in the whole project. These are NOT the updates to the demo – it's the same as before 😀

1. Toilets

In Used Cars Simulator, you'll need to take care of your character's stats. One of these is the bladder level. Toilets will come in handy for meeting this need ;) We've placed them at various points on the map so you can easily find them in different locations.



2. Character Parameters - Notifications

We’re adding notifications about your character's stats so you'll know when it’s time to head to the bathroom, grab something to eat, or get some sleep.



If you ignore these needs, there will be consequences. For example, if you don't go to bed and fall asleep somewhere on the street - you might get robbed



Or if you don’t make it to the toilet in time, you’ll wet your pants (this will increase your Criminality level).



3. Negotiations

We’re improving the negotiation system. Sellers will offer you a price, but you can try to negotiate it. If you take the time to approach the car and carefully inspect the individual parts, you will have a better understanding of the car's condition - and this will allow you to lower the price.

We want the negotiations to feel realistic and keep them within fair limits. However, if you push too hard and repeatedly offer too low a price, the seller may get offended and refuse to talk to you anymore.



4. Prices

We’re also improving a calculating prices system. The cost of a car will depend on its parts and their condition (the condition includes dents, dirt, and fresh paint coverage).

If you don’t have much money, you’ll only be able to afford a cheap car, which might be dirty or damaged. But you can always fix it later and earn more money! 😀



5. Settings

We’re adding more options to Settings and making sure you can adjust them freely. For example, if you set everything to Low, the other settings will automatically switch to Low as well. But if you want to customize specific settings differently, you’ll be able to change them easily, too.



6. Optimization

We’re still working on optimization - it’s a complex process. Our goal is to make sure the game isn’t too demanding on computers while also running smoothly. We’re testing various materials, terrains, and textures to see how they affect memory usage and FPS, and finding ways to improve performance wherever possible.

Used Cars Simulator - Weekly Update #20

🚗 Hey Awesome Drivers!

It’s time for the next Weekly Update! As always, in a few points, we’re presenting to you what we've been working on this week in Used Cars Simulator 😀 Just a reminder – we’re showing what we're working on in the whole project. These are NOT the updates to the demo – it's the same as before 😀

1. Stunt Jumps

We've added some spots in the game where you can perform stunt jumps. You'll have to put in some effort to find them all 😀



You'll also be able to measure your jumps – we've been working on a UI option that will show how long each jump is.



We're also preparing proper ramps for jumps, so you can get ready and pick up speed 😀



2. Rebinding

An important feature for players is the ability to remap buttons. We're working on key rebinding (including for gamepads). When changing a key, you'll also be able to see if the key you've selected is already in use.



3. Traffic

We've also started making improvements to the traffic movement. Sometimes cars would get stuck in various places or drive incorrectly. So we're working to fix that 😀



4. Hints System

It's important that you never feel lost at any point in the game. You'll have plenty of freedom, but the idea is to make sure you know how to perform various actions. That's why we're creating an entire hints system. For example, you'll see hints for actions like opening doors, entering a car, or picking up an item (like this penguin 😀 ).



This will also be very helpful when doing several things at once. Here’s an example where more than one interaction is happening - you’re inspecting the car and can open or close the hood at the same time.



5. Digging and Finding Scrap - Improvements

We've also added some improvements to searching for scrap in the desert. After using the metal detector, you'll be able to see where the scrap is and how to dig it up properly with a shovel.



6. License Plates - Improvements

We’re also working on license plates. You’ll be able to switch them between Legal, Almost Legal, and Stolen. The type of license plate you have will affect whether the police try to arrest you. We’re also making sure they appear in the right places, like where you can buy them. And we can already tell you there will be a quest with this... 😀



7. Optimization

We’re at a stage where we're focusing heavily on optimizing the game to make it run smoothly. To do this, we're reviewing our environments, textures, and materials to see how we can improve them so they don’t take up too much memory while still looking good. It’s a long process 😀

🚗 Hey Awesome Drivers!

It’s time for the next Weekly Update! As always, in a few points, we’re presenting to you what we've been working on this week in Used Cars Simulator 😀 Just a reminder – we’re showing what we're working on in the whole project. These are NOT the updates to the demo – it's the same as before 😀

1. Eggplant Store

We created the Eggplant Store, where you'll be able to buy electronic devices – cameras and tablets. You'll need these for tasks like taking photos of cars, listing them for sale, or ordering used parts on UsedBay.



2. Car Interior

We've started working on car interiors. We'll be improving their appearance and materials. As you can see, we're also making sure that, among other things, the steering wheel actually turns ;)



3. Photo Booth

We've created a photo booth for our cars – this will be useful for browsing car listings for sale.

4. Tow Truck Improvements

We've worked on the tow truck and how the car is secured to it for transport. This way, there's no risk of the car falling off the truck on uneven surfaces ;)



5. Skill Tree Improvements

We have also made further improvements to the Skill Tree. We are creating different categories and branches and adjusting when you'll be able to unlock specific skills. We are also working to ensure that it looks visually appealing and is easy for you to understand :)



6. GPS Improvements

We’ve also added some improvements to the GPS. We worked on the zoom feature and centering the map on the player’s position.



7. Terrain Improvements

We are, of course, continuously working on the appearance of the terrain ;)



8. Bug Fixing

We also fixed some bugs that we accidentally created ourselves... ;)

It’s time for the next Weekly Update! As always, in a few points, we’re presenting to you what we've been working on this week in Used Cars Simulator 😀 Just a reminder – we’re showing what we're working on in the whole project. These are NOT the updates to the demo – it's the same as before 😀

1. Map Update

We’re continuously making improvements to the environments and locations, so it's time for a map update. This map is essential for our GPS system, allowing you to navigate throughout our world easily.



Keep in mind, though, that the entire map won’t be available right away. Here, you can see a 3D view with different sections marked — what you’re already familiar with from the demo, what will be included in Early Access, and what we’re planning for future updates.



2. Car Handling

We’re still working on car handling, and adjusting the different driving modes for all the cars in the game. We decided to add these modes to the tow truck as well - because who knows, maybe someone will want to drift with a tow truck, too ːsteamhappyː



3. NPCs - Improvements

We’re not only adding new NPCs to the game but also paying attention to the details. That’s why we’re giving them various outfits, accessories, and extras like glasses, jewelry, and tattoos.



4. New NPCs

Speaking of new NPCs - we’re adding store employees to a shop where you’ll be able to buy electronic devices (like phones). They are here just temporarily. Their real shop is going to be shown in the next dev log. Do you recognize this outfit from somewhere? ːsteamhappyː



5. Cars For Sale - Improvements

We’ve also prepared a screen where you can see the available cars for sale. You’ll be able to see how far each car is from the player’s position and compare the market price with the listing price for each car.



6. Terrain Improvements

We’re still refining the areas around Lost Angeles. Here, you can see how they look at the moment.



7. Car Spawn Probability

We've also created a system for spawning cars that you can buy. It will depend on how wealthy you are. This way, you'll see different cars that fit your budget. In short, we're making sure you don’t get frustrated by only seeing cars you can’t afford when you’re low on cash.



8. Skill Tree - Improvements

We’re also improving the look of the Skill Tree to make it clearer and easier to navigate.



9. Steam Deck

We’ve also started testing our demo on the Steam Deck – we’ll have more updates for you on this next week! 😀
