Asking for feedback - Community and development

Hey dear players! Feel free to skip to tl;dr at the bottom if you don't feel like reading this novel!

The setup


It's been a wild ride and the game changed a real lot since the first days of early access, I took action every time the community told me something was bad, good or broken.

I'm gonna tell you what the plan was when I started, which is something I told some people privately but I never openly said, the plan was to just take this attitude, and keep making the game bigger until is way too big to ignore.

This week, after the launch on Steam and on Android a few players have been very vocal, which has helped immensely, and it's been recommended by a journo, so there's that!

What I need


The thing is, I've reached a point where expansion has stopped in terms of players, to keep this game profitable I need to ask you for your feedback, opinions, complaints, everything.

Don't be shy, and don't pull your punches (or the praise, if that's what you got!)
A game is as good as it treats its community, I need more talk online, so that YouTubers finally notice this thing, so that press also chooses to pick it up.

The game is severely lacking in guides, unfortunately, I don't have the time to put these together myself because it's time I feel it's better used into implementing the things player want into the game, and in all honesty, it always feels like a race against time to keep a small studio like this running, I've been trying to send it to appstores, dealing with bureocracy, trying to find better strategies to market it, it's just too much.

With how complex the game is getting, and the many builds possible with the Maidbots and buffs/upgrades/adoption, the playstyles are growing more varied than even I can figure out

I'm not complaining though, this is what I wanted, it's actually a dream come true.

Bugfix Patch

The new online features added some new bugs! Luckily they are small ones so here's the news:

  • Fixed invisible objects in Biokernel Zone
  • Fixed bug that prevented players from getting some Maidbots
  • Fixed bug that deleted the full screen options in the PC version
  • Fixed ED display in Arris' buffs screen
  • Fixed Zero's level save issue
  • UI and joystick adjustments on the Android version
  • Buffed Lullastasia, you should try her!

This is an enormous update that puts the game in a different league in terms of quality, not much has been added in terms of new features, but a lot has been added in terms of game experience and quality of life, and it opens the doors for amazing things in the future.

Android Version


Now you can download the Android version in the official website, it is being sent to appstores right now, but so far the game is available to download in TapTap and as a standalone APK.
The save files that you generate with your registered account will be usable in all versions of the game, so you can play it on PC and Mobile under the same account.

The Mobile game plays exactly like any twin stick shooter, controls very easily and it's very straightforward.

User Accouts

You can set a name for your character and register using an email and password, you will be required to confirm your email, if you lose your password, you can tell me and I will let you set a new one, I plan on setting an automated password recovery system however.

Differences between Mobile and PC


As it stands VD2MA is at 1.0, so both versions are very similar except for the player having access to the bridge in the Steam version, the bridge is not necessary for the game as its uses have all been transferred to Hex's dialogue screen, the game saves automatically, which is something players have been asking me for ages, and Maidbots are crafted automatically as their requirements are met.

The reasons for this are two, making the game's operation simple and reworking the bridge into a new community area, the plan is to give it a new look and use it for Kickstarter NPCs, I didn't have any room left for them before, but now I am working to accomodate the area so I can add more of them.

The Mobile version is FREE TO PLAY, and probably will only have ads to support itself, as of right now it doesn't have ads, but don't worry, I promise to not make them invasive, I will probably make them just optional for specific rewards that don't impact balance. I am a gamer like you, I know what bothers you so, I won't go to those places.

HOWEVER, we have to be fair, altough both versions will be updated simultaneously, the PC version costing money means that PC players will have certain additional perks, I've been thinking about things like skins for a long time, and I think this is the best time for those, cosmetics exclusive for the PC version that won't interfere with how the mobile players play.

Right now this is primarily a sandbox game, but the reworked story will be PC exclusive.

Progression, future competitions and Arris' Buffs


Canon events have changed, now the game introduces Arris as a pilot already on the Auriga, waiting for the new Officer, a character the player will name, Arris and Hex will be assisting you now.

Once the story rework comes, it will still focus Arris, but the player will have some impact as a character as well.

As I mentioned earlier, Maidbots are crafted automatically, their requirements have been made MUCH easier because I needed to wipe save files to build this new save system, BUT, you now have cloud saves and you will never lose your progress from now on.

This also means I can keep track of which Maidbots players prefer, who beats FAZZ or reaches far in the Stygian Traverse, or even who has the most alfajores!
This means I can host competitions and events, start the tryhard mode!


You can now visit and interact with Arris, she will provide you with buffs if you get enough points, which you get by being in combat, My purpose with this system is to build a skill trees feature in future updates, so get the hang of the three possible buffs and let me know which one is your favorite so I can properly branch them!

Art Gallery

In the collab area you now have access to all the new art in the game, I will update it regularly and upload cool pics ideal for phone backgrounds and transparent pngs!

Veneto is a very optimistic robot remote controlled by a certain sentient plushie, she is tank/graze based Maidbot with a lot of potential for defensive players, her damage is low but you can make good use of it by staying close to your targets, she rewards risky plays and turns the tables in very dire situations.
