First Patch & 100.000 Demo Downloads!

[p]Heyho everyone,[/p][p]
As you maybe already noticed, we uploaded the announced patch for today.[/p][p][/p][p]Unfortunately the combat voice quibs have not made it into this small patch - but we will deliver them as soon as possible in an individual one. In this patch today you can find:[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]Implemented hardware cursor[/p]
  • [p] Fixed several rich text formatting issues[/p]
  • [p] Replaced Talaxian Stand-in for the quarteless shipmanagement quest - so no more confusion with Neelix!
    [/p]
[p][/p][p]And now for something completely different:

I already said, you guys are crazy - but I wasn't even beginning to understand how crazy... You downloaded the Demo over 100.000 times in less than a week![/p][p]
[/p][p]The whole team is so thankful for the warmest welcome we could have wished for! Eventhough we want to make it right for everyone, we know for sure that some expectations won't be met. Being open with what the game is really about is crucial because of that, which is why we want to add one more answer to one of the most frequent questions going around (All information will be summarized in a general FAQ soon):[/p][p]

How free can I be in Star Trek: Voyager - Across the Unknown?

[/p][p]The overall premise of the game is to not just relive the ship's and the crew's story from the TV Series - but to make it your own. This said, the game is no sandbox with almost unlimited possibilities - we are still a small indie developer, that can't really pull this weight. But what you can expect though, is consequences of your own decisions pulling through each of your playthroughs, making them unique in themselves - even when encountering some fixpoints in the story. How you deal with them is up to you - every time anew.[/p][p]
More information will follow soon - don't forget to wishlist and if you can't wait - why don't you join us on our Discord?

First Patch and Frequent Questions

[p]Captain's Log, stardate 000.4 after the emergence of the Demo,[/p][p][/p][p]First off, let me start by saying - you guys are crazy! We knew that the Star Trek community is a very strong and dedicated one - but the positive feedback, congratulations and especially review score (and amount) that has come our way on various platforms is just flabbergasting!

Obviously there are still open questions, bugs or important wishes that you have brought up, which we are now concentrating on tackling.

This patch for the Demo, that we will be testing one more time over the weekend and plan to implement on Monday, will contain following fixes and adjustments:
[/p]
  • [p]Implemented hardware cursor
    [/p]
  • [p]Fixed several rich text formatting issues
    [/p]
  • [p]Added combat voice-overs
    [/p]
  • [p]Replaced Talaxian Character for the quarterless shipmanagement quest - so no more confusion with Neelix![/p]
[p]
Additionally to those first fixes, we want to answer some of the most burning questions that have been repeated basically everywhere, by everyone:[/p][p][/p]
  • [p] The demo is a pre-release version and we always planned on delivering some form of VO in the full release. But - as you can imagine, with a text-heavy game like ours it would not be very feasible to have a 100% Full VO, especially for an Indie-Studio. Right now we are looking into finding a worthy solution.
TL;DR; The final game will have partial VO. More information to follow.

    [/p]
  • [p] The sound effects are not yet final. Legally it is not possible for us to “just copy” the existing sounds from the show (or the internet) and there is no official, digital library for them available - but we are looking at the moment into replicating them as identical as possible. We will keep you updated here as well on how well this works out.

    [/p]
  • [p] While the demo is only in English, the full version will be localized into more languages including German, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Russian and Chinese.
    [/p]
[p]Thanks again for your overwhelmingly positive and warm welcome into the huge Star Trek Family - we are looking forward to giving this sentiment back to you with a great 1.0 Release!
Until then - feel free to join our evergrowing community on discord.

Best Regards,

New trailer for Star Trek: Voyager - Across the Unknown has a rather bald Borg crew member

Star Trek: Voyager - Across the Unknown showed promise from the demo with some rough edges, but the new trailer has me excited about the journey.

"What if..."-Trailer is out now!

[p]Heyho everyone,

Today we bring you our very own Timo from GameXcite - and yes, we didn't know either that he’s packing this sweet narrator voice. Timo leads you in this “What if…”- Video through one of the many scenarios you are able to encounter in Star Trek: Voyager - Across the Unknown.[/p][p][/p][p]During the events of the “Message in a Bottle” episode from the original TV series, the U.S.S. Voyager is coming into contact with the Hirogen, who are quite unhappy to see our crew interfering with their relay network - did you like how the conflict was solved in the TV series? Or maybe you would prefer a rather active solution via the strategic use of a black hole? Perhaps you even prefer an even less conventional path that makes all resistance futile? Say no more - we got you: [/p][p]

[/p][p]In Star Trek: Voyager - Across the Unknown you are the captain - but be aware that all decisions have their consequences.[/p]
