Grounded 2's early access gets off to a flying start as Obsidian detail the next year of updates

Obsidian's survival game Grounded 2 has launched into early access, and the developers have one of those old-timey roadmaps explaining how it will change before the 1.0 release, give or take a few teasing redactions. This being a game about miniaturised children fighting insects, of course, the road in question may be only a few metres long. A garden pathmap, perhaps? Let's have a look, then.

I wasn't expecting Grounded 2 to arrive so soon after the first, but I'm already quite excited to delve into the undergrowth. The original is a delightful spin on survival games, and teaming up with friends to overcome the threat of giant ladybugs and spinders ended up being one of my surprise favorite co-op experiences in recent years. Grounded 2 breaks its predecessor's Steam peak record after mere hours

Grounded is an excellent survival game that is absolutely deserving of a sequel - it's just that I, and many others, didn't expect it to get one so soon. Bogged down already this year with Avowed and The Outer Worlds 2, I was shocked when Obsidian announced Grounded 2 a couple of months back, and was even more surprised to see a July 29 early access launch date too. Well, today's the day, and despite Grounded 2's inclusion in Game Pass, it's performing very well on Steam - so well, in fact, that it's already blasted past its predecessor's all-time player peak on Valve's platform.
