Your journey begins now...

Major public demo update!

We’re excited to announce that Heat Death v0.2.5.m_demo is live on the Steam public branch.

Here is what's new:
- Airborne Scout Drones (New Enemy Type): The old scout drones have been replaced with new airborne drones that are faster and more challenging to overcome.
- Rapid Burst (New Train Weapon): The Rapid Burst weapon uses train power instead of ammo. This weapon is designed to defend the train against the new drones.
- Heat as a Resource: This community-suggested system now physically propagates heat on the train, meaning you must consider structural module insulation (e.g., walls are better insulators than windows). Certain modules (like engines) will produce small amounts of heat, but if you keep the doors open during a storm, all of it will dissipate.
- Physical Train: Train physics is now more realistic. Each module has mass, and as you build them, the train becomes heavier, reducing its acceleration. Storms will also change the train's air drag, reducing its top speed during storms.
- Fall Damage: You'll now take fall damage. Please let us know how this affects your play style.
- Blueprint as a Resource: By popular demand, you can now unlock the modules you want instead of relying on random unlocks! Blueprints are now a collectible resource in your inventory.
- New Structure Unlocking System: Structural modules are no longer available from the start. You’ll need to reach train stations to unlock them.
- Fission Reactor (New Module): This powerful module generates energy using fuel. However, it’s radioactive while in operation and produces highly radioactive waste that must be stored or disposed of safely!
- Module Deterioration: Modules like the Engine, Dynamo, and Fission Reactor will now wear down over time, adding a new challenge to maintaining your train.
- Difficulty Levels and Game Balance: We’ve introduced new difficulty levels and rebalanced the game accordingly. You can adjust the difficulty level at any time during your adventure.
- Compass: The HUD now has a new compass UI that shows enemies while you're in battle.
- Infinite Player Inventory: Your inventory is now infinite! However, if you carry items beyond the limit, you won't be able to run or jump.
- Other Changes and Bug Fixes

Please note that: Due to the extensive changes, we had to reset the save files in this version, but you'll be able to load save files from this version in the first Early access release.

As always, we greatly appreciate your feedback and support. Thank you for being part of this journey with us!
