Durak NTR: Concerning Difficulty Settings

Some games welcome you with a handshake. Ours, for many of you, felt more like an examination.

We are very aware that Durak turned out to be too difficult for a lot of players, especially for those meeting the game for the first time. We chose Durak because we wanted to bring a more “exotic” card game to a wider audience — something sharp, chaotic, full of sudden swings. But along the way, that sharpness has sometimes crossed the line from “tense and exciting” into “unfair and exhausting.”

We’ve been carefully reading your feedback and thinking hard about how to ease the experience without betraying the spirit of the game. How do you soften the blow without turning it into a hollow click-through? How do you keep Durak’s unpredictability, yet still make the table feel like a place you’re invited to stay?

Out of that reflection, we arrived at a concrete step: with the next DLC, we’re adding a new, lighter difficulty option.

This lighter setting is meant to give you room to learn, experiment, and grow comfortable with Durak’s rhythm before you face its harsher side. It will be placed directly on the main screen, next to the hint toggle, and you’ll be able to change it at any time — before a match, after a losing streak, or simply when you feel ready for something tougher.

In the meantime, if you’d like to support where this project is heading, please consider adding the upcoming DLC to your wishlist. Your support is the most important thing guiding how our games continue to evolve.
