[Official Announcement] Roguelike deck-builder Dog and Goblin playtest is open!

Hello, everyone! We are excited to announce that OKJOY is publishing the auto-battler roguelike deck-building strategy game Dog and Goblin, developed by the two-person team at Zony Studio.

Today, the playtest goes live on Steam, and we invite you all to download and try it out! This playtest will feature around 40 cards, multiple different deck-building strategies, a revamped synthesis system with 30 new recipes, one character, and six difficulty levels. The test is expected to last for 1-2 weeks.



Dog and Goblin is an auto-battler roguelike deck-building strategy game. This time, you’re not a revered human hero—instead, you’ll assemble a mixed army to stand against the humans. With nearly 200 cards and 19 different types to choose from, build your ultimate army and conquer their castles!

You can go to Steam and search for “Dog And Goblin” to enter the game’s store page. Click on “Request Access” under the section “Join the Dog And Goblin Playtest” to participate in it.

Approximately 40 cards, various deck-building strategies, 1 character, and 6 difficulty levels. The synthesis system has been revamped, with 30 new recipes added.

Regular bug fixes

Bugs
  • Heart display problem after loading
  • Commander skill bug of unlimited times of changing card position
  • Gallery edited card pool numbers now is also saved and loaded
  • Buff animation speed now can be influenced by animation speed



Cards
  • Satan's description changed to permanently(it was, but the description is wrong)
  • Wolf Raider now counts as beast
  • Crossbow is an uncommon card
  • Dragon turtle added to the pool


Other
  • Right top corner fog particles adjusted to make icons stand out.

Translation Reworked

A lot of players gave feedbacks on the game's English translation. I tried to work on it a few times on my own, but didnt find better words to use.

Some streamers start to play my game on stream so I start to take it seriously. I referenced the good old Magic:The Gathering and HearthStone, they use simple descriptions to deliver complex gameplay. And luckily, I have some friends to help me with it recently.

All the English texts in the game have been reworked.

It's still not perfect, but I'm open to feedbacks in any form. Hope you guys understand this is a strategy game with a lot of mecanisms that once you see it happens, you know how it works, and it's just hard to explain it in plain text. In the end it is not a constitution law.

I'm sure the game experience is better now. Have fun!

Translation lost for Recipe Cards fixed!

All the recipe cards lost their translation, and I found and fixed it. If you havent touched recipe cards, go and have a try.
Also Playtest has been transformed into Demo, so see you guys on the Next fest.
