QoL Update is Out with More to Come!

Hello, Aspirant Ballionaires (and those already in the 1%),

Before we get to the full list of updates that dropped today, we also wanted to announce our first Content Update, titled the Spring Content Update (yes yes, we know, we're very creative), coming April 9th! We are adding one new board and 20 new triggers for you to play your little hearts out with!

But for now, here's what has been rolled out!
Bans
• There has been an outspoken need to improve control over the board, especially at higher levels when your draft pool is…well… MASSIVE. Well GUESS WHAT? You can now ban unlocked triggers and boons from your profile tab! Use bans to hone your perfect collection of triggers and boons to make number go more up than ever. You asked, we answered.
Steam Workshop
• Steam Workshop is official launched and ready for you to jump in and get your hands mucky!
 • A few “unofficial” mods have gone up from the developer to inspire you on your road to Ballionaire mod-master! Go beyond Tribute 9 in "No Frills Endless Mode" and “Lab Disasters” (Which are some nightmare-inducing Trigger mash-ups) are now available in the Steam Workshop to try! Don’t like how they’re done? Well, try to make your own and show us up, smartypants!
QoL:
1. We’ve finessed spawners to improve performance when HOARDS OF BALLS descend
 2. To the folks that wanted more control over the starting screen, we’ve added UI Effects option in Display Settings. This controls the amount of animation and flashing on the title screen and game over screen! Screen shake? IN THIS ECONOMY?
 3. For those of you who are just too good at Ballionaire and have created infinitely lasting drops, you can now end the current drop from the pause menu to avoid becoming a victim of your own success.
 4. STREAMERS – A new setting has been added to control whether the Falling Money animation plays when the tribute is met to help with BITRATE!
Full Patch Note List for Update 1.1.0
Bans:
- Added a "Bans" tab to Profiles that allows you to ban individual unlocked triggers and boons, if you don't want to play with them.
- Added a button on the Unlocks screen to take you directly to the Bans page, for added visibility.

Performance:
- Smoothed out performance for massive ball spawns.

Settings:
- Rework Settings menu to create separate sections for Sound, Display, Language, Input, and Streaming.
- Added UI Effects option in Display Settings. This controls the amount of animation and flashing on the title screen and game over screen.
- Added Seeker Intro option in Display Settings. This controls whether the Seeker Appearing animation plays when you start a run.
- Added Falling Money option in Display Settings. This controls whether the Falling Money animation plays when the tribute is met. (This was added for streamers because the Falling Money typically destroys a stream's bitrate).
- Added Screen Shake slider in Display Settings. This controls the amount of screen shake.
- Added an Input setting to fully disable all controllers (Windows only). This should help w/ folks who have unconventional inputs like a steering wheel that are interfering with mouse control in the game.

NPE/Onboarding:
- Increase the number of drops in Initiate mode from 5 to 7. Initiate mode should be a bit easier now.

Balance:
- Paper Shredder, Time Capsule, and Computer all trigger Growth Serum now.
- Harvester is now "Bonked -> Ride the Harvester. While riding Harvester, when this ball bonks a Plant, destroy the Plant and replace it with a Seedling. Then, a random Silo gains $1,600."

In-game QOL:
- Added an "End Current Drop" button to the Pause popup, for when a drop might be stuck in an infinite loop.
- Added 4.0x speedup setting (hotkey: 5).
- Right-clicking during a draft choice will toggle showing/hiding the draft.

Custom Runs:
- Added "Initiate" option (e.g. none) to Tribulation Difficulty in Custom Run setup
- Added 50% Tribute difficulty multiplier in Custom Run setup

Sound:
- LOWERED!!! THE VOLUME!!! OF THE HARVESTER!!! SOUND!!!

Localization:
- Korean now uses IM_Hyemin font.

Mods:
- Tons of work for mod support.

Bugs:
- Significant improvements to Pinball Bumper to prevent balls from passing through it.
- Fix a really weird interaction that, while "correct", was likely causing a perception of very buggy behavior: as a rule balls can't bonk their own spawners. However, there are some weird cases, like Armored Car or Wallet, where a non-spawner trigger can spawn a ball, e.g. if a ball carrying a Wallet bonks a Pinball Bumper, the Pinball Bumper will spawn a Coin. Per the rule, the Coin would not be capable of bonking the Pinball Bumper, and create the perception that collision detection failed because the Coin would simply pass through the bumper. Now, balls are only prohibited from bonking spawners if it's a true spawner (e.g. a trigger with the Spawner trait), not just a trigger that happens to have a spawn attributed to it. This should generally be more favorable to players, and also greatly reduce the perception that Movers simply "weren't working".
- Fixed: Gem drafts coming from Rabbit's Foot weren't being attributed to Rabbit's Foot.
- Fixed: Mouse hover over Game Speed in HUD was not reliably bringing up the tooltip.
- Fixed: Fixed typo in Ager definition (english)
- Fixed: A potential Continue Game crash
- Speculative fix: Forced the (temp) profile file to flush after writing, before renaming/moving to the real profile file. This may help some cases of people losing their save files when the game crashes. (edited)

200K Ballionaires!

It doesn’t feel that long ago since we posted about 100k downloads of Ballionaire... probably because it was only last month!

Well, it’s doubled that now with over 200k downloads! That's like.... if all of Columbus Ohio, Odawara Japan, Burnaby British Columbia, Erfurt Germany, or Yiyang China all got bonkin'. The fact that many people "get" Ballionaire is humbling. And terrifying. Humbfying? Terrumbling? You get it.

Big thanks to all of you who have downloaded the game, told your friends, bought them a copy, etc. we couldn’t have done this without you…literally!

We're narrowing in on the next update so keep an eye out for what's next! Now, who’s up for doing a celebratory stickman dance to mark the occasion?!

Testing...

Hey there!

It’s been a while, but just because we’ve been quiet doesn’t mean things haven’t been happening behind the scenes!

We’ve been paying attention to the features that have been requested from you, the community, since we launched Ballionaire and are testing them on the not-so-secret experimental branch, including features like banning certain triggers.

Members of our wonderful Discord community have been trying and feedbacking on updates and we wanted to invite more of you to get in on the action.

Full details about the branch and the instructions to join it can be found here.

We’ll have more details about updates to the full game as soon as we have them, for now we’re still testing to make sure we don’t break the known Ballionaire universe with anything we add in. Testing is important.

Grab a lab coat and some science equipment stuff (if you want to look the part) and join the experimental branch today!
