Update 5 is here!

[h2]Hayo Park Managers![/h2]
Our next major update, Update 5, is now here!

This update includes Security Guards and Crime, Sci-Fi themed scenery pieces, colour customisation for glass, rocks, flume inflatables and mats, improvements to path tools, and a returning coaster inspired by the original Planet Coaster. We've also included a number of fixes and adjustments to make your gameplay experience even better!

Security & Crime
  • New Staff type: Security Guard
  • New guest behaviour: criminality
  • Pickpockets will now enter parks looking to steal from unsuspecting guests and flee from Security Guards once spotted.
  • If guests are unhappy for too long, park managers might find themselves dealing with a vandalism problem too.
  • Players can now add Security Guards and Cameras to their parks to prevent crime and apprehend Criminals.


Sci-Fi Theme
  • Sci-Fi themed static and animated scenery objects
  • Sci-Fi themed music, triggered SFX and ambient audio tracks
  • New Sci-Fi themed billboard videos


Glass Panels and Customisation
  • Colour customisation options for glass scenery pieces

Audio

  • Fixed various other crashes, including a work-around for certain instances of the AMD driver-related crashes affecting some players. We are continuing to work with AMD to investigate this issue further.

  • Security Guards
    • Security Guards are coming to Planet Coaster 2 and they're ready to keep your guests in check.
    • Place security guards down to patrol areas, as they watch over guests and are on alert for any pickpockets or vandals!
  • Rock and Glass Colour Customisation
    • You'll have even more opportunities for creativity with glass colour customisation and additional glass shapes, as well as a set of colour customisable rocks.
  • Sci-Fi Theme Returns
    • Landing in Planet Coaster 2, decorate rides, pools, restaurants and more with this futuristic scenery set, complete with all of the animatronics you know and love.


[h3]Rides[/h3]

We're adding de-themed versions of two coasters for you to put your own creative flair on:

  • High Peaks Construction - Wooden Hybrid Steel Topped - Iron Fury
  • High Peaks Construction - Wooden Hybrid Steel Rails – Malice Unchained

The Iron Fury and Malice Unchained pieces from both of these rides will also be added as individual scenery pieces for you to use throughout your park and on other rides.

We're also adding the Vector - Return Mk II, inspired by Trident from the original Planet Coaster, ready to be customised and enjoyed by your guests!

  • Ability to toggle path kerbs on and off
  • Circular stamps for paths and pools
  • New Wall and Eave pieces for the Western theme
  • Addition of the draw tool in the path delete mode

Update 5 will be available for Planet Coaster 2 on all platforms on May 29th.

We are aware that some AMD Players have been experiencing issues with crashes following a previous graphics driver update. We are happy to say that we have been working closely with AMD and identified an issue linked to Global Illumination and have deployed a fix for this in this Update.

This update includes restaurants, colour customisation for pools, Workshop and Franchise enhancements, and more. We've also included a number of fixes and adjustments to make your gameplay experience even better!

Please read below for a breakdown of what's in Update 4.

  • Restaurants[/h3]
    • Players will now be able to build and open restaurant facilities!
    • Benches and tables can be connected to restaurants.
    • Vendors serve food and drink from a counter, guests will take their meal on a tray to a table.
    • Customise each menu by setting different ingredients from the menu options.
    • A restaurant blueprint per Planet Coaster 2 theme will be available (Planet Coaster, Viking, Resort, Aquatic and Mythology) as well as a dining booth, table, and restaurant related signs.

  • Workshop enhancements[/h3]
    • The main menu Workshop tab is getting some additional sections to show off more of the amazing work from our community. These are:

      • "Featured Creators"
      • "Featured Creations"
    • Players will now be able to follow their favourite Workshop creators and stay up to date with all of their uploads via a new Workshop screen.

  • Pool colour customisation options[/h3]
    • In Update 4, players will now be able to further customise their water parks using some extra colour options for pools. This includes:
      • Colour customisation options for pool tiles.
      • Colour customisation options for pool water.
      • "Colour Strength" and "Lighting Glow" sliders for pool water.
    • Players can now also add the colour of their choice to water shape scenery items.

  • Standard ‘de-themed’ coasters[/h3]
    • The standard versions of 2 more coaster rides will be included:
      • Pearl Rides - Spinning Manic Mouse
      • Valais & Nidwalden - Inverted - Flying
    • The Manta Ray and Mouse pieces from these coasters have now also been added as individual scenery pieces to be used throughout parks and other rides.

  • Returning ride[/h3]
    • Another ride returns from the original Planet Coaster! Update 4 is bringing back the flat ride Scizzer, fully rebuilt for Planet Coaster 2 and ready for players to customise and guests to enjoy.

  • Career Mode Sandbox maps[/h3]
    • Pre-made maps from Career mode Act 2 will be added to Sandbox mode as a starting point for creative projects.

  • Additional ride blueprint information[/h3]
    • Updated Tooltips when hovering over pre-built ride blueprints will now show additional ride information. This will help in some cases when deciding which rides to build when completing objectives in Career Mode.

  • Coaster supports on paths[/h3]
    • Players can now decide if they want to allow coaster supports to be placed on paths via a toggle in the Settings Menu under the 'Game Options' tab.


    [h3]
  • Franchise enhancements[/h3]
    • Players can now customise their franchises by setting banners and stickers.
    • Players will now be able to visit top rated parks from previous Franchise Leaderboards.


    [h3]
  • Economy balance refinements[/h3]
    • Default ride prices have been adjusted to be more suitable depending on selected difficulty.
    • Pre-placed rides will now update their prices at the time of changing difficulty level.
    • Blueprints with pre-set prices will now also adapt to the current difficulty level.
    • Dynamic pricing will also be based on selected difficulty.
    • When using Custom prices, the 'Park Options' screen and 'Ride Info Panel' will inform the player when the selected price is too high for some or all guests in the park.
      • This applies to Rides, Park Entrances, Pool and Priority Passes.
    • Guest thoughts/feedback will now be displayed on Toilets and Body Dryers.
    • Prices for Toilets and Body Dryers can now also be set individually.
