RELEASING THE MASS INVASION DEMO!

Hello everyone!

We are excited to announce the release of the demo version of Mass Invasion today! We are a dedicated team of four indie developers who have been passionately working on this project for quite some time now. We acknowledge that the current version lacks content and has bugs, particularly in localization. Rest assured, we are aware of these issues and are committed to addressing them and fixing all bugs along the way. We wanted to release the demo version early on to start getting attention to our game.

While it's just a demo, we will be diligently working to improve it and ensure it represents our game well.

Development Update #3: Food Animations

Hello everyone! Today's update is about our food animations. We have over 16 different types of food, each with 2 to 3 unique animations. Additionally, we've created over 100 brands and related products for players to consume.

We are focusing on creating detailed eating animations. Here's the biscuit animation: you can eat some biscuits and then put them back into your inventory to save for later.

Some foods cannot be stored once opened. Here are two examples: emergency water packs and pop sodas.

We've developed a variety of food animations to enhance your in-game experience. We want the game to feel immersive in many aspects, and we believe that elements like food animations are essential to achieving this.

Currently, we have created a lot of detailed animations. Some are one-time consumables, while others can be put back in your inventory to save for later. We're also working on some unexpected animations to add a bit of fun to the game.

Thank you for taking the time to check out our update. We hope you enjoyed it. Don't forget to join our Discord channel, have a great day!

Development Update #2: Gun Animations

Hello everyone today's update will be about our gun animations, what changes we have made, and what we plan for the future.

M4 ANIMATION REWORK

As seen in the gif here, we are making such changes to our weapon animations to make them look more satisfying but keep coherence and realism at bay.

GUN ANIMATIONS

edit: made a slight mistake on the naming of the reload animations on this one, sorry.

We have created different types of reloading animations. Some are tactical related and some are situational things. An example would be panicking while reloading the gun thus taking longer than usual.

We also have gun jamming animation right now, in the future we plan to add more animations such as inspecting the gun chamber, checking the mag, etc.

Thank you all for taking the time to check the update. We hope you liked it, please look forward to the next one. Don't forget to join our discord channel! Have a nice day!

Development Update #1.1: Examples

In this update, we will be sharing examples from the previous article. The next updates will be bigger and will contain examples of the topics. So please look forward to it.

As previously said we are complete with the base online systems of Mass Invasion. Here is an example of an enemy, synced in both players' screens.

The movement system for enemies. As previously said zombies of our game can parkour like players. Please ignore the gun placement and mechanics since it's a placeholder to show off the movement system.

What about other enemies? Currently, I can talk about the alien warrior. It was designed to be a close-quarter combatant with a plasma sword. Now he will have a ranged weapon to reach the players if he is in a position where he can not get close to players.

If performance allows us to have big numbers of zombies, we will be working on a zombie horde. Now imagine hundreds of zombies chasing you and doing parkour!

Thanks for taking the time to check the update. We hope you liked it, please look forward to the next one. Have a great day!

Development Update #1: Traversal

Sorry for not posting anything, we are continuing the work on the Mass Invasion. We are a tiny indie team, so we only focus on developing the game. Will try our best to update our community more often. We are currently finished with the base of the game related to multiplayer elements. Such as finding a game, and inviting friends on Steam to your game. Currently, we are working on the player's traversal of the map, and how enemies react to it. To give an example of "how enemies react", when players are elevated from the ground, melee enemies can not reach them. So enemies will have other options to attack player in ranged combat. Also, it's certain to say that our zombified humans will be parkouring similar to players. This will raise the game’s intensity and set a new pace for chases.

We are also switching from Unreal Engine 5.3 to 5.4 which requires us to upgrade all of our skeletons for humanoid models and retarget our already crafted character animations.

We will be sharing more footage about these features soon, thanks for having time! Have a great day!
