Arkansas - Hidden Gems + New Cargoes to Haul

Embark on a journey with us to see some of the hidden gems and new cargoes of Arkansas, our upcoming map expansion for American Truck Simulator. In today's blog, we bring you a sneak peek at some beautiful locations in the Natural State, which won't be so easy to find, as well as some fresh new cargoes you can haul there!

Drivers will have to really explore Arkansas through and through to discover these amazing gems as they are located on unmarked roads that are not visible on the map until you find them! We don't want to spoil all the fun of exploring for you so we won't tell you where to look but only provide a preview so you know what lies uncovered in this upcoming map expansion.

We hope you are excited to dive deep into the map and see these beauties with your own eyes once the Arkansas DLC is released! And that is not all. With the release of this map expansion, we are also introducing some new cargoes that truckers will be able to haul there. We decided to add these types of cargo to make this map expansion more realistic and immersive while taking inspiration from the real world.

For example, in El Dorado, there is the only bromine container factory in North America. As bromine plays a big part in Arkansas' industry, truckers will be able to haul these containers in-game there. Players will also come across other new cargoes such as SUVs, clamshell buckets, mobile air compressors, packed lumber, rough terrain forklifts, and a wood chipper, which would also come in handy for the Natural State's huge lumber industry.

We believe you are already looking forward to exploring Arkansas' hidden gems and hauling new cargoes. Until this map expansion is released, make sure to add the Arkansas DLC to your Steam Wishlist! Remember to stay tuned for more updates on the development of this DLC and other ATS-related news by following us on our Twitter, Facebook, InstagramTikTok, and YouTube. Drive safe!

Arkansas - BIG in Arkansas

Special Transport is arriving in Arkansas! Are you ready to take on the challenge of hauling these colossal types of cargo on selected roads across the Natural State? Let's take a look at what roads you will deliver these loads on.

Driving with these huge cargos is no easy task and only the most experienced truckers will dare to take on this challenge! We have prepared some roads in Arkansas specifically to suit the needs that such special transport jobs require. But it will still be a big challenge for anyone to deliver them even with the help of professionally-trained pilot vehicles who will assist you, as always.

So you are still reading and think you have what it takes to transport these oversized cargos? Well then, let's take a look at which cities you will find these special transport jobs and where you will be required to deliver them to. Special Transport DLC owners will find contracts on offer between the following cities:
  • Little Rock to El Dorado
  • Little Rock to Texarkarna
  • Jonesboro to Hot Springs

We are looking forward to cruising the roads of the Natural State with these special cargos loaded on our trailer and hope you are too! You can get the Special Transport DLC on Steam right now if you don't own it already.

Missouri: Joplin

Today we're truckin' into Joplin, and checking out what this area has on offer for drivers visiting this city in our upcoming Missouri DLC for American Truck Simulator. Let's take a closer look, shall we?

Established in 1873, this city certainly has a lot of history! The discovery of Zinc and Lead ores in the area brought prosperity to the town and since then it has continued to grow. When the mining industry collapsed in the 1900s, other unique industries were developed, which our team have represented in this DLC, which we will cover in a future blog!

You will not only see history in Joplin, but you can drive on it too! Cruise along historic Route 66 as it winds its way through the heart of the city via Main Street downtown. Here you'll also find the iconic Route 66 mural park, which pays homage to that nostalgic era with two large tile murals: Cruisin’ into Joplin & The American Ribbon. Be sure to take a screenshot of the classic-era red sports car, located just below the murals!

In 2011, Joplin unfortunatly experienced a large and devastating natural disaster, which destroyed much of the city. Since then, Joplin has rebuilt and restored many of the buildings, homes and roads which were lost. Today, this restoration project still continues, with part of the city still actively being under-construction and rebuilt. Parts of this project can be seen in this DLC.

There's still plenty to explore, but we will leave that to you! We look forward to sharing more about the Missouri DLC for American Truck Simulator in the near future. If you like what you see, you can support us by adding Missouri to your Steam Wishlist. A big thank you to everyone who has already, it really means a lot! Until next time, keep on truckin'.

Arkansas - New & Reworked Industries

Another day, another blog about the upcoming Arkansas DLC for American Truck Simulator! Get ready to explore new and reworked industries as we dive deeper into the Natural State. Truckers delivering into Arkansas will encounter two new types of depots as well as some reworked ones, so let's take a look.

Near the city of El Dorado, players will come across the only bromine factory in the state. This area of Arkansas has unusually high levels of this chemical element making the state responsible for 40% of the world's bromine supply.

We could not leave out the Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport in the capital city of Little Rock. This depot was meticulously recreated by our map designers to match its real-world counterpart, as we usually do.

We also had some older depots that were used in our previous map expansions but these industries are so important for Arkansas that we made the decision to craft new models for them and give them a fresh look!

Truckers hauling in or out of the Natural State will encounter two sawmills on their journeys, one in El Dorado and the other one near Texarkana. With much of Arkansas covered in forests, the lumber industry plays a significant role in this state, which we wanted to reflect in the game.

Alongside this, the paper industry is also prominent. In this map expansion, you will deliver to two papermills: one near Texarkana and the other in El Dorado.

Another commodity that is really important for the Arkansas economy is steel. The Mississippi County in the Natural State is the USA's largest producer of this metal with the Mississippi River playing a big role in its distribution. That is why we have also made a brand new metal warehouse depot.

We believe you are already looking forward to driving in this upcoming map expansion. Until then make sure to add the Arkansas DLC to your Steam Wishlist!
