Louisiana: Custom Made Depots

[p]In today's blog, we're heading back to the Pelican State! This time, we would like to give you a closer look at some of the custom depots where you'll be picking up and delivering cargo to in the upcoming Louisiana DLC for American Truck Simulator.[/p][p][/p][p]Unlike standard prefabs, these depots have been carefully assembled by our map designers using a variety of assets, giving each one a distinct look and feel. Many also draw subtle inspiration from real-world locations. Today, we'll be showing five of them: three farms and two timber harvest depots. [/p][p][/p][p]Agriculture once formed the backbone of Louisiana's economy, but over time, its role has shifted. Even though it remains quite important today, only a small share of residents make their living from farming, with most of the production concentrated in a relatively small number of large farms along the Mississippi River. These farms produce a wide range of goods, including cotton, rice, soybeans, feed grains, poultry, eggs, and beef.[/p][p][/p][p]In the Pelican State, you'll come across custom-made farms near the city of Natchitoches, the Oberlin settlement, and the Oak Alley Plantation. While Oak Alley is now primarily a historic site and museum, we felt its beauty made it a fitting addition as a delivery location in the map expansion. [/p][p][/p][p]The timber industry began to rise in the late 1800s and remained a key part of Louisiana's economy well into the 21st century. Today, tree farming has become the state's most valuable agricultural activity. Louisiana now ranks among the nation's leading timber producers, with the vast majority of its forests consisting of softwoods, primarily pines. You can find one of the custom-made timber harvest depots near the US-156, while the other one is located near the town of DeRidder, close to the Texas border. [/p][p][/p][p]We hope we have got you a little more excited to haul cargo in Louisiana! If we did, make sure to add the Pelican State to your Steam Wishlist. Don't miss out on all the latest news from our upcoming DLCs and projects by following us on our official social media channels (X/TwitterInstagramFacebookBluesky, and TikTok) or by subscribing to our newsletter. Louisiana: Shreveport

[p]As we continue our journey across the upcoming Louisiana DLC for American Truck Simulator, today we’re taking a closer look at one of the largest cities in the state, Shreveport. Located in the northwest corner of Louisiana, this bustling city offers a fascinating mix of culture, history, and industry. We’re excited to bring it to life for our players![/p][p][/p][p]Shreveport owes much of its identity to its location along the Red River. Truckers entering the city will cross a number of key bridges, including one of the most recognizable rail bridges in the region. With the river flowing through its heart, Shreveport is both a scenic and practical hub for commerce and transportation.[/p][p][/p][p]You will be able to spot several of Shreveport’s most iconic landmarks as you pass through. The city’s skyline is dotted with tall hotels and resorts that overlook the riverfront, adding a distinctive look to the horizon. In the downtown area, you’ll find civic and cultural highlights, such as a large convention center, a prominent courthouse, and a well-known financial institution.[/p][p][/p][p]For those looking for entertainment, Shreveport is home to several riverboat-style resorts and casinos, each with its own unique architecture and colorful night lighting. Meanwhile, families and visitors often gather at the city’s popular science center, which features an unmistakable dome-shaped planetarium.[/p][p][/p][p]Shreveport is also no stranger to major sporting events and concerts. Truckers driving past the southern part of the city may notice the football stadium, famous for hosting big games and annual events, as well as a nearby multi-purpose coliseum that serves as the home of the local hockey team.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Of course, a city like Shreveport is more than just its landmarks. In American Truck Simulator, players will find a variety of depots scattered throughout the area, along with a garage for those looking to expand their trucking operations in Louisiana.[/p][p][/p][p]We can’t wait for you to experience Shreveport for yourself in our upcoming Louisiana DLC. Until then, keep an eye out for more blog posts as we continue to explore the cities, industries, and road networks that await you in the Pelican State.[/p][p]In the meantime, don’t forget to add the DLC to your Steam Wishlist and follow us on X/TwitterInstagramFacebookBluesky, and TikTok, or subscribe to our newsletter for more behind-the-scenes content, teasers, and announcements.[/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p]

This time, we're taking you with us to the World Headquarters of the Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan, USA, where we had the chance to see and work with a variety of vehicles from Ford's legendary line-up for our upcoming Road Trip module in American Truck Simulator.
[/p][p]
First and foremost, we'd like to thank Ford and everyone who joined us on the day for giving us access to a wide array of vehicles, old, new, and special; and for their warm hospitality during what was a cold but very productive visit.

South Dakota: Grasslands and Forests

[p]South Dakota is a lovely state, home to diverse landscapes and rich wildlife. Let's take a look at some of the natural locations our map designers are currently recreating for this in-development map expansion for American Truck Simulator.[/p][p][/p][p]The Mount Rushmore state is located in the North Central Region of the United States. As you can see on the screenshots from these locations, South Dakota's landscape offers a truly unique driving experience, ranging from vast open plains with far-reaching views across the countryside to rolling hills, lush green forests, fertile fields, and striking rock formations along the roadside. [/p][p][/p][p]In the western part of the state, you'll come across a region full of dense forests and distinctive dome-shaped mountains, known as the Black Hills. Several scenic routes wind through this beautiful national park, including US 85, US 385, US 18, and SD-44, which pass through beautiful cities like Sturgis or Hot Springs. [/p][p][/p][p]As you head further east, you can take Interstate 90, which runs east to west across the state and passes near the stunning Badlands National Park - just like SD-44.[/p][p][/p][p]Next, you'll cross the Missouri River, which flows through the center of South Dakota and divides the state into two. On the eastern side lies the Prairie Plains, a landscape of wide rolling hills, flat river valleys, and vast fields of sunflowers. You will be able to spot these beautiful locations, especially when driving on roads such as SD-34, SD-50, I-90, and US 18, all of which showcase the area's pristine natural beauty.[/p][p][/p][p]We hope you liked this preview of South Dakota's wonderful nature, but you can look forward to more, as we will explore the lovely Black Hills and Badlands National Parks in greater detail in our future blog posts![/p][p]If you are excited to explore this state's natural beauty, make sure to add the South Dakota DLC to your Steam wishlist! Also, remember to follow us on our TwitterFacebookInstagramBluesky, and YouTube for all the latest news from not only this map expansion, but also other American Truck Simulator projects, or sign up for our newsletter to stay informed.
