American Truck Simulator: Wyoming is currently the best-selling thing on Steam

I'm sad, because I'm not going to have pre-release details on American Truck Simulator's Wyoming DLC to write about anymore. But I'm also happy, because Wyoming is here. The latest DLC for ATS landed today, and it's a hit - to the point where it's the number one top seller on Steam right now.

American Truck Simulator: Wyoming is the number one item on Steam's list of global top sellers, ahead of the Hellraiser chapter for Dead by Daylight and the new RPG Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. Steam's top seller rankings are a bit nebulous - it's unclear how long a stretch of time they cover, but they are ranked by dollar sales, so for some stretch of time today, Wyoming was pulling in more money than anything else on Steam.

ATS itself is also enjoying a massive 75% discount on Valve's platform right now through September 13, and much of the DLC is on sale, too. So if you've been looking to catch up, now might be the time - though apparently we've still got a long wait ahead before that Texas DLC rolls out.

The big day is here! Preparations to release Wyoming for American Truck Simulator are in top gear. We are also preparing for a special release stream with special guests. So what time is Wyoming releasing?

We expect to have this event available to players for an extended period of time, probably way beyond the point of reaching the community goal. We don't want to motivate you to rush through the DLC in a hurry to make sure you manage to obtain the personal achievement. We simply want to reward early adopters of the DLC for spending quality time with the new content.

Speaking of rewards, all truckers in Wyoming are eligible to receive a special cabin accessory, a Triceratops plush toy! To earn this unique reward, simply take any External Contract or External Market job to or from the city of Gillette. Why this city specifically you may ask? Believe it or not, paleontologists digging in northeastern Wyoming (so near Gillette) have uncovered fossilized remains of three triceratopses - possibly the most complete specimens of the dinosaurs yet found! So be sure to claim your part of prehistoric history for your cabin.

We will also be hosting a special Wyoming release live stream across official Steam & Twitch channels starting at 16:00 CEST. American Truck Simulator- Wyoming gears up for the long haul tomorrow

American Truck Simulator is continuing to chart the west as it heads to Wyoming tomorrow. The newest expansion takes you through ten cities in the big, open Equality State. There are jobs to haul across all sorts of industries, as ever, and quite lot of sights to stop and gander at. Along with the DLC's launch tomorrow, SCS Software are challenging players to really put some drive time in over the next couple months to earn some in game cosmetics themed after the new state. You'll be able to hit the open Wyoming roads tomorrow, September 7th.

It's almost time to hit Wyoming, as the Cowboy State arrives in American Truck Simulator tomorrow. It'll be a chance to check out Wyoming's gorgeous landscapes in digital form, learn a surprising amount about roadside conveniences, and earn some new truck cosmetics, as the devs have just announced an event to promote the new DLC.

The Cruising Wyoming event kicks off alongside the Wyoming DLC release date on September 7, and lasts until November 7, so you've got plenty of time to participate. If you pick up or deliver cargo on jobs of at least 100 miles in each of the ten major cities added in the expansion, you'll get the new truck paint job you see in the header image above, featuring a lovely airbrushed bison theme.

The event also presents a community goal to drive over 80 million miles on jobs originating or ending in Wyoming. If you've completed the personal goal for the paint job and the community meets the overall challenge, you'll get a Jade Bison ornament to hang from your rear-view mirror, as you can see on the official site. Very fancy stuff.
