American Truck Simulator: Lowboy Trailers

A trucker wouldn't be much without their truck and trailer, and the same is true within our simulation titles. Today we are excited to share with you some news about lowboy trailers in American Truck Simulator that will come with 1.39 update.

Lowboy trailers are specialized flatbed trailers that are great for hauling heavy or oversized loads, thanks to their design that provide a low ride height, they have the ability to carry legal loads up to 12 ft tall, which other traditional trailers cannot. In our next update for American Truck Simulator, we are happy to announce the arrival of a new lowboy trailer that comes in an array of different configurations, as well as a few other features which we know many drivers will enjoy.

Drivers will now be able to purchase their own lowboy trailer and use them in the cargo market. Owners of these trailers will benefit from a wide array of options to customize them in the upgrade shop, such as color, trailer accessories, beacons, chassis options, lengths, articulated axles, and more!

Lowboy Trailers have now also been updated to be included in various add-on packages including Special Transport and Heavy Cargo DLC's. We hope you enjoy using these trailers across a variety of different job contracts.

Not only will you be able to take advantage of the new lowboy trailer, but so will other drivers on the road. lowboys will also be now hauled around in traffic as you travel through America, so make sure to give them plenty of space if you pass by them.

We can't wait for you to get truckin' with these new lowboy trailers in our next update. Let us know what you think of them in the comments below.

Colorado: Landmarks

From locations of historical importance to unique structures, the U.S state of Colorado offers a long list of amazing landmarks for visitors and residents alike to admire and vist. So what landmarks will you able to find in the upcoming Colorado DLC for American Truck Simulator? Here is a sample of what you can come across on your travels across this colorful state.

Nicknamed the 'Switzerland of America' the city of Ouray is home to some of Colorado's most historical buildings which date back to the nineteenth century. Most of the architecture located in the downtown district are listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a popular destination for many tourists.

If you're looking for a country escape, then Steamboat Springs is a must-visit destination for nature lovers and adventure junkies. Best known for its premier family-friendly ski resort, it has become a vacation destination for many. Much like Ouray, it also features a historic downtown area which includes the famous old town square, a must stop for any visitor or driver passing through.

Ever wanted to visit 4 states in 1 trip? well now you can! Located in the Navajo Nation Tribal Park, is the Four Corners Monument, the only place place in the U.S where four states meet. Visit Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado and Utah and admire the beautiful surrounding desert-like landscapes.

These are just some of the areas of Colorado that feature prominent landmarks, but there are so many more which our team have replicated for drivers to admire or even stop for truck selfie. Do you recognise any of them?

If you do, let us know where you think they might be located in the comments. If you can't wait to visit Colorado in American Truck Simulator, then add it to your Steam Wishlist! It really helps us spread the word about our upcoming DLC and notifies you of its release and other future sales. We appreciate your support and we can't wait to share more.

American Truck Simulator is big enough that the devs are getting unreleased truck models

Sure, seeing brand-new car models in racing games is old hat by now, but the same can't be said for the big trucks of the world. Peterbilt and Kenworth offered the developers of American Truck Simulator a limited number of models at launch, and it's taken years worth of updates for manufacturers like International, Mack, and Volvo to join the game. But it seems things are starting to change.

The Next Western Star model, as the manufacturer is calling it, is still under wraps, due to be unveiled to the public on September 29. But the devs at SCS Software have already had access to a prototype to start building a digital version of the truck, which will be released in American Truck Simulator "very shortly after" its real-world counterpart.

"It is a first for SCS Software to work this closely with a leading American truck manufacturer on synchronizing the release of a brand-new truck," the devs say in the announcement blog. "We are extremely proud to have established ourselves firmly within the trucking industry; earning Daimler Trucks North America's trust to get physical access to the prototype truck, which was necessary to start building this truck for our virtual world."

The least profitable haulage empire possible in American Truck Simulator - an investor pitch

(American Truck Simulator is out today, so to celebrate I've written a silly feature about my shambolic career mode in it. Please enjoy.)

Oh hi there, [INVESTOR NAME]. I'd like to talk to you today about an exciting opportunity to become part of one of the fastest growing* haulage enterprises in the distict of Elko, Nevada. We're a company that's trucking towards great things, and we'd sure love to have you along for the ride! There have been a few silly reports lately about our massive, crippling debts, widespread employee incompetence, and multiple pending criminal investigations that you may or may not have read about. And I'm going to discuss those. I am. But first, let's talk about our company ethos.
