The new Oklahoma DLC for American Truck Simulator offers an immersive and authentic driving experience through the diverse landscapes of the state. From bustling cities to rural farmlands, the DLC provides a well-crafted depiction of Oklahoma's beauty. Being a former over-the-road truck driver in the United States before moving to Sweden, this helps me reminisce back to the days when I used to travel the I-40 Interstate through Oklahoma. The attention to detail in the road networks, landmarks, and scenery enhances the realism of the game. Whether you're a dedicated trucking enthusiast or simply looking for a refreshing addition to the game, the Oklahoma DLC is a solid choice.

Absolutely thrilled to have had the chance to experience the Oklahoma DLC for American Truck Simulator! As a truck lover, diving into the diverse landscapes and vibrant cities has been an absolute joy. The state's rich history and thriving industries, like bus factories and tire factories, make for an engaging trucking experience. The attention to detail in places like Gloss Mountain and Beavers Bend State Parks truly makes this DLC a trucker's dream. The peculiarity of this map, which surprised me and especially my community during the live broadcasts, is the presence of some particular roads that make the journey more intriguing and exciting. Can't wait to continue this exciting journey on the road!

In my opinion, Oklahoma is one of the most beautiful states in America, and I am very glad that our dear developers have finally added it to the game. The detail of all ten cities and landscapes is amazing. My viewers and I enjoyed spending time checking out new roads and cities, and we even found an interesting hidden road! The views in the expansion are really nice and you can look at them for ages! Everything looks very nice and the DLC is definitely worth your attention. Thank you, SCS Software for the new and great addition to the game. I am sure that it will be even better and better from now on!

Oklahoma is OK! (Get it? Eh? *Cricket noises*) Honestly, this state is simply a relaxing and unique one to drive through! I love when we get a new state like no other before because, during my live streams, everyone from the state always points out the realistic recreations of towns that are important to them and things you can only see in Oklahoma. From the truck stops to the Tulsa Airport and the School Bus Factory, you will find scenery and pickup locations that look like no other in the game. SCS did a great job of showing the wide open plains as well as the mountain parts of the southeast. It connects the bordering states with many more back roads than I ever expected! Thanks, SCS, for yet another wonderful addition to the ever-expanding American Truck Simulator!

Alongside the DLC launch, we launched the #CruisingOklahoma World of Trucks event and in just over two weeks, you've managed to surpass over 75% of the community goal of 111,000,000 miles (178,637,184 km). Really good going! No need to rush though; you still have until the 1st of October at 23:59 UTC to secure your personal rewards and help out with the community goal. More details are available in the dedicated blog post.

In conclusion, it's evident that we've been absolutely overwhelmed with feedback since the release. To tackle The Sooner State and make it as diverse as possible posed a challenge to our developers, and we're thrilled that the project has garnered much attention. A heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you!

Kansas - Colby & Hays

Today we're happy to share with you not one, but two cities from Kansas, our in-development map expansion for American Truck Simulator! From local industries to landmarks, let's delve into what these areas can offer truck drivers.
Colby
Nestled in-between the High Plains, where the horizon stretches as far as the eye can see, is the city of Colby. Established in 1884, it has grown into a progressive agricultural community predominantly featuring farming industries. From farms, to machinery services to livestock auctions, there is no shortage of work for drivers looking for a job!

If the fields aren't for you, you'll also find a supermarket, car dealer and a new dynamic depot nearby; and whilst you're in town, why not take a moment to admire the sights! Near the city limits, you'll find the visitor centre, also known as the 'Grain Bin' thanks to its unique design which incorporates traditional Kansas limestone with a a real grain bin.

From there, you'll come across other prominent landmarks such as the Thomas County Courthouse, the First Presbyterian Church, the Pioneer Memorial Library and the Colby Mall. Be sure to explore a little when you do pass by, you'll never know what you might find!
Hays
Welcome to Hays, a city where history, education, and natural beauty can all be found! Located amidst the rolling plains of the Sunflower State, Hays invites you to explore its captivating blend of past and present.

Founded in 1867 as the southern branch of the Union Pacific Railroad, it has become a bustling city with a variety of local industries. On your visit in American Truck Simulator, you can find jobs to and from the battery factory, local city works, a dynamic parking depot, car and truck dealer, furniture and supermarket stores. On the outskirts of the city, you'll also find a Steel metal depot, Oil Service and a Livestock Farm.

If you happen to find yourself in Hays with some downtime, why not check out the local landmarks and attractions? Here you can find a Movie Theater with an accompanying art mural, statues of some of Hays' personalities, the Hays Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9076, the Hays Public Library and more.

No matter which city you choose to visit first, history and industries await you on the road! We hope you enjoyed this insight of what is to come with the Kansas DLC. If you like what you see, be sure to add it to your Steam Wishlist! Until next time, keep on truckin'.

Introducing Nebraska

A few weeks ago we released a blog post teasing new content for American Truck Simulator that we started working on during the development of two map expansions. We hope today’s map DLC announcement will get you excited just like the previous two, because officially we are... Introducing Nebraska for American Truck Simulator

Located in the heart of the Great Plains, Nebraska’s vast and diverse landscape consists of prairies, rolling hills, and the crucial Platte River. While hauling cargo through the Cornhusker State along historic routes, you will have many opportunities to witness iconic landmarks and truly immerse yourself in the state's spirit, from its pioneer history to the modern energy of cities full of ever-growing industries. Our goal is for the DLC to offer a fusion of peaceful landscapes and the rhythm of a buzzing economy that's unlike any other.

We already have a wide range of topics to cover on our blog in the future and we can’t wait to show them to you. For now, please keep in mind that while this article already includes plenty of screenshots, the project is still in a fairly early phase and everything is a work in progress.

If you want to show us how excited you are about this announcement, you can already add the DLC to your Steam Wishlist and feel proud that you were ready since "day one". To stay in touch with all the updates and news we also advise you to give our social media a follow (X/Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok), as that will ensure instant alerts about any new piece of information going public. We can’t wait to see you on the roads of Nebraska!

American Truck Simulator's Oklahoma DLC adds ten cities and a bee plush

Studios like Rockstar can capture the essence of New York in a video game, but New York is a city full of famous landmarks. SCS Software, by comparison, have become masters at capturing the essence of places of no significance. The long freeway, the vacant parking lot, the anonymous storage warehouse, the nowhere town; all are rendered with such care and detail in American Truck Simulator that they become as compelling to me as any virtual Times Square.

The latest example: Oklahoma, now available in ATS's latest DLC. Watch the launch trailer below and see if it doesn't make you want to take a road trip.
