Texas - Community Spotlight

The Texas DLC for American Truck Simulator was released about two weeks ago and ever since then, we have been swamped with monitoring an incredible amount of feedback. Our developers are still working hard to keep track of everything on multiple platforms and we figured we might send some love back to the #BestCommunityEver by showcasing several experiences with the latest map expansion in different forms.

Let’s start off with screenshots and videos, which filled our social media to the brim. We love reading about your journeys across this massive state and, as always, we’re making sure to share the most amazing posts with everyone in the company in our internal channels. We strongly encourage you to keep tagging us on (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok), and we’ll do our best to check everything out!

However, the sea of community feedback is wide, and we were also amazed by hundreds of positive reviews on Steam. We appreciate everyone who put out the effort to let us know about the best parts of the DLC along with providing us with constructive criticism. Following are some of our favorite reviews. If you would like to write a review yourself, you can do so on the Texas Steam Store Page.

And speaking of which, the latest map DLC managed to get the attention of multiple internet video game journals, resulting in awesome reviews, such as this one by PC Invasion. If you are unsure what to expect before purchase, you might want to check the full article out.

We have also reached out to some of your favorite content creators (a couple of them are actually from Texas!) and they were kind enough to write us short reviews about their experience. Check out what they had to say about this massive addition to the world of American Truck Simulator.

Texas was by far the most anticipated state since Colorado, at least for myself and I am sure a lot of others as well. We all knew it was going to be a huge undertaking but I do not think anyone expected the amount of content that was included in this DLC! So many huge cities, small towns, open roads, flat ranch lands, and everything in between. I kept saying it is going to take me a long time to explore all of it. As a space nerd, seeing the Johnson Space Center and Launch center near Brownsville was very exciting! My favorite part that maybe some won't notice is the vast distances you can see in some areas. That adds to the immersion of an already very detailed state! And the truck stops are extremely accurate which is a great addition! Once again one of the best states in the game so far! - RyaStream

Texas! Being a Lone Star State resident I feel right at home. I've been looking forward to this DLC for a long time now, and let me tell you it did not disappoint. From Dalhart to El Paso or Brownsville to Longview the scenery and landscape are true to Texas. The new cargo and companies really add to the size of this DLC making it the biggest and best from SCS Software for American Truck Simulator. From big details to small SCS represented Texas very well. Catch you all on the open roads! - TruckinCowboy

Let me start off by saying “WOW”!!! I knew that this DLC was going to be amazing but it is much more than that. With Texas being my neighboring state, it feels amazing to just drive through there whenever I feel. I was blown away at how most of the POI’s in the state were absolutely spot on. Being able to drive past known locations and share with my community stories of what my experience was like while I was there was the best thing ever. I was even able to share a picture comparison while in Galveston, Texas. Absolutely beautiful. Thank you SCS Software for trusting me with early access and allowing me to share the experience #BestCommunityEver! - ThatGirlNisha

It's great to see a game developer take the time to recreate landmarks and cities in a game to make it seem realistic. As a native Texan, it has been nice to be a tour guide to the community and show where I am from. This DLC has added hours of new gameplay and roads to explore with friends or solo. From landmarks such as Route 66 to the Corpus Christi Bridge, there is plenty to see and great opportunities for group photos and screenshots. “Everything is bigger in Texas.” - MoDoze

To say that we were blown away by the power of the #BestCommunityEver once again is an understatement. With the release of the DLC, we also started the #CruisingTexas World of Trucks event and it only took a bit over two weeks for you to smash the community goal of 125,000,000 miles (201,168,000 km). Absolutely outstanding! But no need to panic, you still have time until the 15th of January, at 23:59 UTC to get your personal rewards, which you can find out more about in the dedicated blog post.

In the end, as you can see, we have truly just been flooded with a lot of feedback ever since the release. The Lone Star state presented a true challenge to our developers and we are glad the project managed to receive so much attention. Thank you all very much!

Steam Awards 2022 Nominations

This year’s edition of the annual Steam Awards has begun and the nominations are open, along with the Steam Autumn Sale.

We will always remember the honor of Euro Truck Simulator 2 winning in two categories during the very first year of Steam Awards in 2016, and we hope that the lightning will strike twice ranking us on top again. Both of our games can be nominated in this special event once more!

While we have continuously supported our games with updates and regular new content over the years, we still have several big and smaller features in development, along with map expansions and several new vehicles. Our developers are always doing their best to transition their passion for our titles into the in-game environment and we can’t wait to show you everything we’re currently working on.

This ongoing development is the reason why you will be able to nominate us for the Labor of Love category, which is dedicated to games that are constantly evolving with new additions. While this category is crowded with some heavy competition, we hope that the #BestCommunityEver will judge American Truck Simulator or Euro Truck Simulator 2 worthy and cast a vote on the Steam Awards Nomination Page. We’d like to hear your thoughts about the final decision, so comment below, or tag our official profiles on social media (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok)!

In the end, whatever the outcome will be, the most important thing is to take part, and we really appreciate your support. After all, without you, it would be unlikely to have nominations like these time and time again, so, thank you very much! We’ll see you on the roads!

Introducing Oklahoma

Dear #BestCommunityEver, you may have caught a glimpse of the following announcement at this year’s edition of Czech & Slovak Games Week, but now it is time to make it official. So, without further ado, let us show you the next step in the journey across the US states...
Introducing Oklahoma for American Truck Simulator
While Oklahoma tends to have an unfortunate reputation of being a rather arid place, sometimes it’s much better to avoid judging a book by its cover. The state is home to wonderful national parks, several natural marvels, and historical places full of mysteries and legends. And if you are looking for something more practical instead, the local road network and a strong economy will keep every trucker properly busy.

We are looking forward to showing you more in the future! For now, please keep in mind that everything you see here is still very much a work in progress and may not represent the final product.

If you wish to stay in touch with all the upcoming news, make sure to follow our social media (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok), and to express your excitement and support add Oklahoma DLC to your Steam Wishlist. We’ll see you on the road!

Happy Hauloween Conclusion

A little over three weeks ago we invited all of you to join the special spooky festivities by taking part in our Happy Hauloween World of Trucks event. During this time, players were able to earn special rewards for completing a personal and community goal while hauling the unique Halloween Treats all over the in-game world.

As this was our first Halloween event, we were curious to know what the feedback will be, along with how much effort would the #BestCommunityEver be able to put into something fresh like this. Now, after everything is "said and done", we have to express our gratitude for the positive response that you’ve shown us. This view by most all of you was reflected in the amazing final stats that we would like to share with you. Great job everyone and thank you all for participating!

We truly hope you are enjoying the Swinging Bat dashboard toy and Pumpin Head hanging toy rewards. Even though Halloween itself is an extremely time-limited holiday, you can now drive across ETS2 and ATS with these accessories in your interior all year long!

Many of you also took to our social media channels to share with us photos and videos of your journeys and participation. We really enjoyed looking at them all and sharing some of them on our public profiles and our internal channels. It brings a lot of joy to our teams to see how much you enjoy these World of Trucks events.

Don’t worry, our plan is to keep bringing a Halloween event for the players in the upcoming years as well. But, that being said, it is time to look to the near future, so keep an eye out on our social media (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok), to not miss any potential announcement of what is soon to come.

one final jump scare: BOO!

American Truck Simulator heads to Oklahoma for its next DLC

Straighten up your big rig’s neon signs and make sure you’re sitting comfortably, because American Truck Simulator devs SCS Software have sneakily revealed Oklahoma as the game’s next DLC. A store page for the Oklahoma expansion has popped up on Steam, although there hasn’t been an official announcement just yet. That’s most likely because today sees the launch of American Truck Simulator’s Texas DLC, so you expect to hear more about Oklahoma after that's out of the way.
