GTA Online players stole $4 trillion in one week, so they're all getting a free car

Rockstar Games held a "Heists Challenge" event in Grand Theft Auto Online in 2020 that included rewards for the entire community if players could collectively steal at least $100 million—in GTA dollars, of course—in a single week. The community responded by stealing 10 times as much—$1 trillion—before the event was over. So for 2022, Rockstar upped the ante to $2 trillion—and once again, players proved more than up to the task...

GTA Online weekly update brings big biker boosts to GTA 5 multiplayer

Thursdays mean the GTA Online weekly update is here once again, and we have all the key details ahead of the official Rockstar blog post due later for the online multiplayer game. The week of December 1-7 promises big boosts to biker missions, with cheap supplies and boosted payouts on offer. In addition, there's the usual range of free cars in the crime game (we're talking ones you'll actually own, not just in the sense that you can steal them).

Despite originally launching on Xbox 360 and PS3 in September 2013, our GTA 5 review shows that Grand Theft Auto has never been bigger. Constant evolution in the console space has all been a lead up to the PC release, which is indisputably the pinnacle achievement of Rockstar's current generation of game design. Grand Theft Auto V is a wildly ambitious game; huge in scope, wild in variety, and - importantly - the best GTA game the developer has made since Vice City.

Rockstar ban crypto and NFTs from GTA Online roleplay servers

Grand Theft Auto Online players are forbidden from using the game’s roleplay servers for “commercial exploitation”, according to new guidelines set out by developers Rockstar which includes selling loot boxes, virtual currencies, corporate sponsorships, and anything to do with cryptocurrencies and NFTs. Sorry, crypto bros. The ban on crypto and NFTs echoes Mojang’s statement from this summer scuppering players who wanted to incorporate the controversial technologies into Minecraft.
