GTA Online weekly update adds Halloween content, another UFO event

A whole host of games are getting spooky for Halloween, and now it's GTA Online's turn. The weekly reset has come and gone, so players are digging in to see what's new, and lots of them are coming across suitably ghoulish content. Rockstar Games will have the official rundown on its Newswire later today, but the content is already in the game.

Rockstar tipster Tez2 shares on Twitter that you've got your usual clothing options alongside Halloween free mode events like Phantom Car, Slashers, and UFO Business Battles - here are some of the event requirements. The Camhedz arcade machine is also now available. If you're looking to raise extra funds, Alien Survival missions and Halloween modes like Come Out To Play and Condemned & Slasher are paying out double the usual rewards.

Tez also shares that the second stage of the daily UFO event is live, so today (October 21) you'll want to head to the Sandy Shores airfield. Tez notes that the UFO will "show up around Blaine County within the next few days" and that it "seems to be getting closer to the city".

Gerald's missions and the series of Special Vehicle Work jobs will yield you double GTA$ and RP this week, too.

The GTA Online prize ride this week is the Dominator ASP, which you can earn by finishing in the top three places in six Los Santos car meet races, while the latest GTA Online podium vehicle is the Specter two-door sports car.

GTA Online weekly update triples rewards on stunt and air races

By cycling GTA Online Jobs and Adversary modes, Rockstar is freeing up space for new missions and modes

Rockstar has said it is continuing to improve and evolve GTA Online, and one of the ways it is doing this is by cycling select Adversary Modes and Player Jobs in and out of the game.

According to the studio, because GTA Online offers such a diverse array of gameplay, with over 1,000 Rockstar-created Jobs and “tens of millions” player-created Jobs, cycling Rockstar-created Jobs in and out of the game over time will help free up space for future new missions and modes.

The firm said another way it is improving the game is focusing on the game’s matchmaking by steering the community toward a more streamlined list of Jobs from week to week.

GTA Online weekly update triples rewards on stunt and air races

The theme of GTA Online's weekly update is a tad racy this week. Rockstar Games typically posts the full rundown of its weekly updates to its Newswire later in the day, but fans don't have to wait - they can get a peep at what's changed beforehand as the crime game updates in the morning.

If you fancy your abilities behind the wheel and need some extra in-game dosh, you'll want to check out some stunt and air races this week as Rockstar has tripled the rewards. You'll also find that the GTA Online prize ride this time around is the Calico GTF. To nab it, all you have to do is finish in the top two in LS Car Meet races for six days in a row. You can also try out the Dominator GTT, Growler, and RT3000 on the test track if you fancy trying a GTA car before you buy it.

Don't worry if you aren't a keen racer, though, as there are other ways to make money this week. The Inch by Inch adversary mode offers double the rewards, which involves two teams competing against each other to move some cargo from A to B. You can also get double the rewards on VIP Work and Special Cargo missions.
