GTA 5 DLC smuggles in fan favourite San Andreas link

GTA 5 is a sandbox game filled with Easter eggs and references to pop culture, other media, and even its own series of games, and this extends to GTA 5 DLC too. It's so prevalent in fact, that a new Easter egg in GTA Online is a direct reference to GTA San Andreas. So while we all wait for the GTA 6, at least we have this van.

An update has arrived in GTA Online and it has injected a "new psychoactive strain of chaos" into the game.

Called Los Santos Drug Wars, the update takes you to Blaine County, where you will join up with Nervous Ron and "out-of-state misfits".

Your mission is to help them make their mark on the Los Santos psychedelics trade. You will come up against wealthy hippies and bikers while trying to "cook up" mind-altering substances.

GTA 5's Nervous Ron returns in GTA Online's trippy next update


Rockstar have teased a new story update coming to GTA Online next week, which pits players against a ramshackle bunch of rival drug dealers. The Los Santos Drug Wars kick off on December 13th with the first part of the update. The short post on Rockstar’s Newswire blog isn't exactly awash with details at the moment, but it does give an idea about the kind of dodgy characters and shenanigans you’ll get to encounter, including an angry looking luchador and the return of GTA 5’s Nervous Ron.

Rockstar Games held a "Heists Challenge" event in Grand Theft Auto Online in 2020 that included rewards for the entire community if players could collectively steal at least $100 million—in GTA dollars, of course—in a single week. The community responded by stealing 10 times as much—$1 trillion—before the event was over. So for 2022, Rockstar upped the ante to $2 trillion—and once again, players proved more than up to the task...
