GTA Online's weekly update brings back cargo reward boosts

The GTA Online weekly update is officially here - it's Thursday, after all. While Rockstar Games posts all the official patch notes later into the day, the denizens of Los Santos jump in beforehand when the update goes live to see what's new for themselves.

If you're looking to raise some funds, you'll want to get cosy and run special cargo missions as Rockstar has doubled in-game cash and reputation points. If you've been out of the loop, these missions typically involve picking up cargo from a spot on the map and delivering it where it needs to go. These missions are usually done in GTA Online's open-world map, though, so expect some dicey situations unless you're in a solo lobby.

If that's not your thing, Rockstar has tripled the rewards on the Sumo (Remix) adversary mode and Road Game versus mode. You've also got double the goodies on client jobs and boosted rewards on bunker sell missions. If you're looking for a new set of wheels, the GTA Online Prize Ride is the Zentorno, which you can nab after finishing in the top three of pursuit races for five days in a row. Meanwhile, the GTA Online podium car is the Euros if you're feeling lucky.

Dr. Dre initially turned down GTA Online because 'I don't make things for kids'

Late last year GTA Online added The Contract, a bunch of new story content bringing back one of the main GTA 5 protagonists Franklin and debuting new music from the legendary rapper and producer Dr. Dre. This followed a brief Dre cameo in 2021's Cayo Perico update, but according to a new interview with DJ Pooh the whole shebang barely happened: because Dre said "I don't make things for kids."..

GTA Online weekly update quadruples rewards on one mode

It's Thursday in Los Santos, folks, and that means it's GTA Online weekly update day. Rockstar Games will post the official rundown on its Newswire later in the day, though the update is already live, so people have jumped in to see what's new.

If you're looking to raise money or grind reputation points, the Cross the Line adversary mode may be the best bet over the next seven days as rewards are quadrupled. If you've been out of the loop, the PvP mode was added to the online crime game in the Freemode Events update back in 2015. The way it works is simple; two teams battle to cross the line before the other. When we think about it, the mode sounds like something you might see in Squid Game.

If you're looking for new wheels to stick in your garage, the latest GTA Online Prize Ride challenge will net you the Dinka Jester Classic, which typically costs $790,000 in GTA bucks. You'll need to win one Street Race Series race for four days in a row to claim this one. Are you feeling lucky? The GTA Online podium vehicle is the Schlagen GT this week.
