GTA Online weekly update leaves fans underwhelmed

It's Thursday, folks, and that means it's time for GTA Online's weekly update. We didn't get one last week as GTA V's Expanded & Enhanced version released. Regular service has resumed, though, so fans are jumping into Los Santos to see what's new before Rockstar Games posts the official rundown on the Newswire later today.

There are a few things to check out, though it looks like slim pickings this week. The GTA podium vehicle is the Torero, while the GTA prize ride is the Sentinel XS, which you earn by finishing in the top five of two pursuit races. If you're looking for more dosh, Rockstar is doubling the rewards for the Double Down adversary mode and Martin Madrazo contract missions for the next week. Tipster Tez2 also reports that console players can test ride the Cyclone 2 or get double the experience points and in-game cash on HSW races.

Tez2 also notes that "odd changes" are likely to be reversed soon. The nightclub safe's capacity is back to 250k on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, though it remains at 210k on PS5 and Xbox Series S. The max payout on specialist contacts is now 75k on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, but still 70k elsewhere. The West Coast Classics and Radio Los Santos stations are also only playing new songs on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

GTA Online now lets you buy modded cars from Car Meets

GTA Online's Car Meets offer petrolheads a chance to show off their new set of wheels in style. Now, thanks to the new upgrade for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, players can do more than just window shop - they can buy themselves a version of the car they see in front of them, complete with mods.

This addition, which has been spotted by 'sjsjshdhxh' on Reddit, comes as part of the Expanded and Enhanced update for current-gen users. While the update includes new and improved tuning options for the fastest GTA Online cars and the fastest GTA online bikes, this is the first time players will be able to buy cars directly from the Los Santos Car Meet.

While that might not seem like a big deal, it allows new players, particularly those trying GTA Online out for the first time in years to get a massive leg up in the game.

Rockstar is fixing GTA Online character transfers

Grand Theft Auto V: Expanded and Enhanced is upon us, and while the update doesn't mean much for PC players, the character transfer process is causing some major headaches for folks who've previously hopped between consoles and PC. Rockstar is working on a fix, but there's not yet an estimate for when that update will arrive.

If you played GTA Online on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, and previously transferred your character to PC, you are currently unable to transfer that character to the Expanded and Enhanced editions on the new consoles. Based on initial communication from Rockstar's support staff, it seemed that this was an intentional limitation. However, Rockstar now says that's not the case.

As the devs explain in a tweet, they're "currently working to resolve the issue with GTA Online profile migration for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S where those migrating from PS4 or Xbox One are currently blocked due to previously migrating those accounts to PC, and will update everyone once this is working as intended".
